Saturday Night Comebacks

The “dog days of summer” are upon us in Lottery Trend country. The amount of sunlight during the day may be steadily shrinking, but daytime’s a scorcher. We can add the night of July 26th to the scorcher list. Both Lotto Texas and Powerball saw their most commonly played Patterns. Furthermore, these were last seen this past Saturday night! Of course, it wouldn’t be a sizzling hot night without repeating Four-Number Combinations in Lotto Texas, and a repeating Three-Number Combination in Powerball.

Lotto Texas

Wednesday’s winning numbers were 12, 16, 17, 33, 38, and 43, bringing the number of appearances of the {3-2-1} Pattern up to 762.

This Pattern has played in 51.9% of the 1467 Lotto Texas drawings.

Now with 139 appearances, the 3 1 2 Specific Order has played in 18.2% of the 762 drawings where the {3-2-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 9.48% of all 1467 drawings. Unlike the {3-2-1} Pattern, this Specific Order did not make an encore appearance. We last saw the 3 1 2 Specific Order in the June 10th, 2017 drawing.

The repeating Four-Number Combinations of the evening were

  • 12, 16, 38, 43 (Debuted March 18th, 2017)
  • 12, 16, 17, 43 (Debuted January 20th, 2007)

Powerball

The 69th appearance of the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern was thanks to winning numbers 7, 19, 21, 42, 69, and PB 12.

This Pattern has now played in 36.5% of the 189 Powerball drawings.

With eighteen appearances, the [1-2-1-1-1] General Order has played in 26.1% of the 69 drawings where the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 9.52% of all 189 drawings. Prior to Wednesday night, this General Order was last seen in the May 31st, 2017 drawing.

Making its fourth appearance, the 1 2 1 0 1 1 Specific Order has played in 22.2% of the eighteen drawings where the [1-2-1-1-1] General Order has appeared. This Specific Order has also been seen in 5.8% of the 69 drawings where the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 2.12% of all 169 drawings. We last saw this Specific Order in the October 5th, 2016 drawing.

Will either the {3-2-1} or the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern go for a three-peat this Saturday?

It’s a Common Thing

Unlike what took place on Wednesday night, there were no rarely-seen Patterns July 22nd. In fact, both Lotto Texas and Powerball saw their most commonly seen Patterns make an appearance. There were also two repeating Four-Number Combinations in Lotto Texas, one of them having played twice before! Powerball saw a repeating Three-Number Combination as well.

Lotto Texas

The {3-2-1} Pattern made its 761st appearance. Saturday night. The winning numbers were 17, 22, 24, 41, 44, and 49.

This Pattern has played in 51.9% of the 1466 Lotto Texas drawings, and was last seen in the July 12th drawing.

With 141 appearances, the 1 2 3 Specific Order has played in 18.5% of the 761 drawings where the {3-2-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 9.62% of all 1466 drawings. Prior to Saturday, this Specific Order was last seen in the June 28th, 2017 drawing.

Repeating Four-Number Combinations got a lot of love. The repeating Four-Number Combinations were:

  • 17, 24, 41, 44 (Debuted February 14th, 2001)
  • 17, 22, 24, 41 (Debuted August 5th, 2009 and last seen 10/31/2009. Spooky!)

Sixteen years is a lengthy amount of time to pass for a Four-Number Combination to play again. It’s also not common to see a Four-Number Combination repeat just a few months after making its debut!

Powerball

With winning numbers 5, 32, 44, 53, 60, and PB 9, the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has now played in 68 drawings.

This Pattern has also played in 36.2% of the 188 Powerball drawings, and was last seen a few weeks ago in the July 5th drawing.

Making its 16th appearance, the [1-1-2-1-1] General Order has played in 23.5% of the 68 drawings where the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 8.51% of all 188 drawings. This General Order previously played in the June 24th, 2017 drawing.

Now with three appearances, the 1 0 1 2 1 1 Specific Order has played in 18.75% of the 16 drawings where the [1-1-2-1-1] General Order has appeared, 4.41% of the 68 drawings where the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 1.60% of all 188 drawings. This Specific Order was last seen in the August 27th, 2016 drawing.

The repeating Three-Number Combination of the evening was 5, 44, and PB 9, which made its debut in the May 7th, 2016 drawing.

This Combination has only played once before.

With July about to wrap up, what will we see in the week ahead? Will either the {3-2-1} or the {2-1-1-1-1}  or both Patterns make an encore?

The Big Thaw

After a restful weekend, Lotto Texas and Powerball came back swinging Wednesday night. In fact, a major warm-up took place. July 12, 2017  saw Patterns from recent Saturdays make an appearance in both lotteries. What’s more is that the Powerball Pattern from this past Saturday made an encore appearance. There were also repeating Four-Number Combinations for Lotto Texas and a repeating Three-Number Combination for Powerball.

Prior to Wednesday night, how recent was Lotto Texas’s Pattern? What was it, anyway?

Lotto Texas

The {3-2-1} Pattern made its 760th appearance, with winning numbers 4, 19, 24, 32, 44, and 50.

There were two repeating Four-Number Combinations, one of which made its debut near the beginning of the century (yeah, that far). They were

  • 4, 24, 32, 50 (Debuted December 29, 2001)
  • 19, 24, 32, 50 (Debuted September 3, 2008)

With two appearances, the 2 2 0 0 1 1 Specific Order has played in 8.70% of the 23 drawings where the [2-2-1-1] General Order appeared, 3.51% of the 57 drawings where the {2-2-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 1.08% of all drawings. This Specific Order made its debut in the November 4, 2015 drawing.

Will things stay hot on Saturday night?

Fourth Time’s the Charm

A rare event occurred the night of June 10th. Lotto Texas saw a Pattern make its fourth consecutive appearance. Concerning more “normal” affairs, there was a repeating Four-Number Combination. Powerball may not have seen Pattern encores or repeating Three-Number Combinations, but somebody won the $447.8 million jackpot.

Lotto Texas

For the fourth time in a row, the {3-2-1} Pattern made its presence known. The winning numbers were 2, 16, 18, 21, 42, and 53.

With 755 appearances, this Pattern has now played in 51.9% of the 1454 Lotto Texas drawings, and continues to be the most commonly played Pattern.

Making its 138th appearance, the 3 1 2 Specific Order has played in 18.3% of the 755 drawings where the {3-2-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 9.49% of all 1454 drawings. This Specific Order was last seen in the June 3, 2017 drawing exactly one week prior.

The repeating Four-Number Combination was 2, 18, 42, and 53. This Combination made its debut in the August 28, 2002 drawing.

To put things in perspective, Blockbuster Video dominated video rental and AOL was the dominant Internet Provider. Bonus points to whoever is reading this post and still has an aol.com email address!

Powerball

The {2-2-1-1} Pattern made its 54th appearance, with winning numbers 20, 26, 32, 38, 58, and PB 3.

This Pattern has now played in 30.7% of the 176 Powerball drawings, and was last seen in the May 17, 2017 drawing from a few weeks ago.

Making its 20th appearance, the [2-2-1-1] General Order has played in approximately 37% of the 54 drawings that the {2-2-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 11.4% of all drawings. Prior to Saturday night, this General Order played in the May 10, 2017 drawing. This was exactly one month ago.

Last, but certainly not least, the 0 2 2 0 1 1 Specific Order made its fourth appearance, and has now played in 20% of the 20 drawings where the [2-2-1-1] General Order has appeared. This Specific Order has played in 7.41% of the 54 drawings where the {2-2-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 2.27% of all drawings. The 0 2 2 0 1 1 Specific Order was last seen in the December 14, 2016 drawing.

Will the {3-2-1} Pattern push ahead and go for a fifth appearance? Will the {2-2-1-1} Pattern get in the game and make an encore appearance?

Stumbling Upon a Three-Peat and (Repeating) Combinations

June 7th was a busy night for both Lotto Texas and Powerball. Lotto Texas saw a trio of Four-Number Combinations and Powerball saw one repeating Three-Number Combination. Right off the heels of Tuesday’s Mega Millions drawing, the three-peat bug had spread. The question now is, which lottery saw a Pattern three-peat?

Lotto Texas

As it turns out, Lotto Texas saw a three-peat of the {3-2-1} Pattern. The winning numbers this time around were 16, 25, 26, 33, 37, and 43.

Source: lotterytrend.com.

This Pattern has now made 754 appearances, and has played in 51.9% of the 1453 Lotto Texas drawings. Recall that the {3-2-1} Pattern was last seen in the June 3, 2017 drawing and earlier still on May 31st.

Making its 114th appearance, the 1 3 2 Specific Order has played in 15.1% of the 754 drawings where the {3-2-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 7.85% of all drawings. This Specific Order was last seen in the April 22, 2017 drawing.

The trio of Four-Number Combinations was made up of the following:

  • 25, 33, 37, 43 (Debuted August 3, 2013)
  • 16, 26, 33, 37 (Debuted December 2, 2006)
  • 25, 26, 33, 37 (Debuted March 3, 2007)

Did Powerball also see a Pattern three-peat?

Powerball

Unlike the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern in “sister” Mega Millions, the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern did not make a three-peat appearance, or “four-peat”, actually. Instead, Powerball saw the 34th appearance of the {3-1-1-1} Pattern. The winning numbers were 5, 21, 57, 66, 69, and PB 13.

Source: lotterytrend-powerball.com.

This Pattern has played in 19.4% of the 175 drawings, and was last seen in the May 24, 2017 drawing a few weeks ago.

Now with fourteen appearances, the [1-1-3-1] General Order has played in 41.2% of the 34 drawings where the {3-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 8% of all Powerball drawings. This General Order previously played in the May 20, 2017 drawing.

Next up is the 1 1 0 0 3 1 Specific Order, making its second-ever appearance. This Specific Order has played in approximately 14.3% of the 14 drawings where the [1-1-3-1] General Order has appeared, 5.88% of the 34 drawings where the {3-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 1.14% of all 175 drawings. The 1 1 0 0 3 1 Specific Order made its debut in the September 21, 2016 drawing.

The lone repeating Three-Number Combination was 57, 66, and 69, and it made its debut over a year ago in the May 4, 2016 drawing.

What will Saturday’s drawing have in store? Will the {3-2-1} Pattern be daring and go for a fourth consecutive appearance? Will a Specific Order make its debut?

April Showers

“April showers bring May flowers,” so the saying goes. One can assume that said showers are of steady rains, not sprinkles or deluges of Biblical proportions. The April 26, 2017 drawings for Lotto Texas and Powerball were just like those proverbial showers. There were no major upsets, and the biggest play of the evening wasn’t obvious, at least on the surface.

Lotto Texas

Lotto Texas had the biggest draw of the evening, with the encore appearance of the {3-2-1} Pattern. Its 750th appearance was thanks to winning numbers 9, 25, 30, 40, 45, and 53.

Winning Texas Lottery numbers. From lotterytrend.com.

This Pattern has now played in 52.05% of the 1441 Lotto Texas drawings, and remains the most commonly seen Pattern. Recall that the {3-2-1} Pattern was just seen this past Saturday.

The Specific Order of the evening was 1 2 3. Now with 137 appearances, this Specific Order has played in 18.3% of the 750 drawings where the {3-2-1} Pattern has appeared. When looking at all 1441 drawings, this statistic becomes 9.51%. The 1 2 3 Specific Order was last seen in the December 3, 2016 drawing.

There were no repeating Four-Number, or Five-Number Combinations on Wednesday night.

Powerball

Powerball saw an uncommon Pattern in the form of {3-1-1-1}. Winning numbers 1, 15, 18, 26, 51, and PB 26 brought the number of appearances up to 30.

Winning Powerball numbers. From lotterytrend-powerball.com.

This Pattern has now played in 18.4% of the 163 Powerball drawings, and previously played in the April 5, 2017 drawing.

The [1-3-1-1] General Order made its 11th appearance, its first since the March 4, 2017 drawing. This General Order has played in approximately 36.67% of the 30 drawings where the {3-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 6.75% of all 163 drawings.

With only two appearances, the 1 3 0 1 0 1 Specific Order has now played in 18.2% of the eleven drawings where the [1-3-1-1] General Order has appeared. This Specific Order has also played in approximately 6.667% of the 30 drawings where the {3-1-1-1} has appeared, and in 1.23% of all drawings. The 1 3 0 1 0 1 Specific Order made its debut in the November 12, 2016 drawing.

The thing about showers is that the grey skies give way to sunlight and fields with flowers abloom. With the last drawings of the month for Lotto Texas and Powerball taking place on Saturday, will the flowers bloom early?

Finding Common Ground

Earth Day is a time when we mere mortals should reflect on how we treat our planet, and how we can sustain our environment for not just ourselves, but for generations to come. Now, I’m not going to delve into the politics here; this is not the blog for that kind of conversation. As science marches around the world took place during the day, the drawings for Lotto Texas and Powerball took place that night. Both Lotto Texas and Powerball saw common ground April 22, 2017, for they both saw their most commonly seen Patterns.

Lotto Texas

The {3-2-1} Pattern made its 749th appearance, with winning numbers 13, 19, 20, 31, 37, and 50.

Winning Texas Lottery numbers.

This Pattern has now played in 52.01% of the 1440 Lotto Texas drawings. Prior to Saturday’s drawing, the {3-2-1} Pattern was seen in the April 15, 2017 drawing, which was the Saturday prior.

Making its 113th appearance, the 1 3 2 Specific Order has now played in 15.1% of the 749 drawings where the {3-2-1} Pattern appeared, and in 7.85% of all 1440 drawings. This Specific Order previously played in the April 12, 2017 drawing.

No repeating Four-Number or Five-Number Combinations made an appearance.

Powerball

Powerball’s {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern made an encore appearance. This time, the winning numbers were 21, 39, 41, 48, 63, and PB 6.

Winning Powerball numbers.

Now with 59 appearances, this Pattern has played in 36.4% of the 162 Powerball drawings. Recall that this Pattern was last seen in Wednesday night’s drawing.

Next, the [1-2-1-1-1] General Order made its 16th appearance, its first since the April 15th drawing a week ago. This General Order has played in 27.1% of the 59 drawings where the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 9.88% of all Powerball drawings.

Finally, the 0 1 2 1 1 1 Specific Order made its fourth appearance. This Specific Order has now played in 25% of the 16 drawings where the [1-2-1-1-1] General Order has appeared, as well as 6.78% of the 59 drawings where the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared. When taking all 162 drawings into account, this statistic becomes 2.47%. Prior to Saturday’s drawing, the 0 1 2 1 1 1 Specific Order was last seen on March 8, 2017.

As April starts to wind down and whispers of summer start to break through, are Lotto Texas and Powerball gearing up to end the month with a bang?

Mirror, Mirror

Lotto Texas and Powerball mirrored each other the night of April 12, 2017. If you were to look at just the Patterns, they were identical. If you were to take a deeper look, then you’d notice the many differences. One such difference is that this Pattern is very common in Lotto Texas, not so much in Powerball.

For those of you just tuning in to this humble blog (or need a reminder), the Lottery Trend analysis team never takes things at the surface level.

Lotto Texas

The {3-2-1} Pattern continued to dwarf all other Lotto Texas Patterns in the appearance department, with 747 to date. The winning numbers on Wednesday night were 5, 26, 30, 31, 46, and 54.

Winning Texas Lottery numbers.

This Pattern has now played in approximately 52% of the 1437 drawings, and was last seen in the April 5, 2017 drawing exactly one week ago.

Making its 112th appearance, the 1 3 2 Specific Order has played in 15% of the 747 drawings where the {3-2-1} Pattern has appeared. This Specific Order has also played in 7.79% of all 1437 drawings. Like the {3-2-1} Pattern, the 1 3 2 Specific Order previously played on April 5th.

As for repeating Four-Number Combinations, there were none to speak of.

Powerball

In contrast to Lotto Texas’s {3-2-1} Pattern, Powerball’s {3-2-1} Pattern isn’t very common at all. Having just made its seventh appearance last night, it’s one of the least commonly seen Patterns. The winning numbers were 8, 14, 61, 63, 68, and PB 24.

Winning Powerball numbers.

This Pattern has now played in 4.40% of the 159 Powerball drawings, and previously played in the February 18, 2017 drawing.

Now with five appearances, the [2-3-1] General Order has played in approximately 71.4% of the seven drawings where the {3-2-1} Pattern has appeared. When taking all the Powerball drawings into account, this statistic becomes 3.14%. The [2-3-1] General Order was last seen in the January 25, 2017 drawing.

Since there were no repeating Three-Number Combinations, let’s end the Powerball coverage with the debut of Specific Order 2 0 0 0 3 1. This Specific Order has now played in 20% of the five drawings where the [2-3-1] General Order has appeared, as well as about 14.3% of the seven drawings where the {3-2-1} Pattern has appeared. When considering all 159 drawings, this stat becomes 0.63%.

What was just discussed in this evening’s post was in fact covered once before here on Lottery Binge. It’s not often that the Patterns for both Lotteries would be the same! Now, with the next drawings being held the day before Easter, will there be golden eggs?

And now, before I leave you all, I would like to thank Freyja Harris for this opportunity to blog to you all for the past two weeks while she was on vacation in Japan. Freyja will be back on Wednesday to fill in on the details while I continue my duties as analyst for lotterytrend-megamillions.com. Until the time comes again when I have to fill in for Freyja, this is Romulun Harris signing off.
