Saturday Leftovers and then Some

Leftovers don’t have to be cold and tasteless. Sometimes when they’re reheated and a little extra kick is added, they taste even better!

April 10, 2018 was a night much like this past Saturday’s. For one, the prizes for Lotto Texas and Powerball rose once more, now at $15.75 million and $101 million, respectively. Not only that, but both Patterns made an encore and one was part of a playback package!

Could the Australia Play start a Pattern streak in Lotto Texas? Will the jackpots in both lotteries continue to ascend?

Kangaroos and Cheese

Such an odd name for a Lottery Binge post, but what happened on March 27, 2019 was odd. In a good way.

Lotto Texas continued its frolic through “double digit millions” country. Thanks to an Australia Play, it hopped towards a $12.75 million jackpot.

Along the way, the $768.4 million (formerly $750 million) prize in Powerball got kicked over, and a Wisconsinite walked away with the golden ticket! Powerball has since settled down to $40 million.

For the curious: a bit on Wisconsin cheese.

Three-Number Combination(s)

As if a jackpot worth more than three-quarters of a billion dollars weren’t enough, there was a lone repeating Three-Number Combination!

With the crazy-large Powerball jackpot claimed, it appears that March may go out like a lamb. Still, $40 million is nothing to sneeze at, and Lotto Texas is going strong. We’ll have to wait until Saturday’s drawing to see if either Pattern makes an encore.

Who Loves Playbacks?

The theme of the week so far is “Playback”. Yesterday, we covered the playback in Mega Millions. Lotto Texas and Powerball, not wanting to be left out, received some playback love March 20, 2019. It’s thanks to these playbacks that the normally unassuming Lotto Texas is now flirting with a $11.75 million grand prize. Powerball’s jackpot beast remained unleashed, and now stands tall at $625 million!

Lotto Texas

General Lottery Analysis

With winning numbers 14, 15, 26, 29, 40, and 42, both the {2-2-2} Pattern and the 2 2 2 Specific Order have played 225 times.

Of the 1639 Lotto Texas drawings, an Australia Play has happened in 13.7% of them; one was last seen February 6, 2019.

Considering that March 20th was the first day of autumn in Australia, perhaps it’s fitting that Lotto Texas saw such a play.

The {2-2-1-1} Pattern, [2-2-1-1] General Order, and the 2 0 0 2 1 1 Specific Order were last seen March 9, 2019.

Three-Number Combination(s)

Powerball kept the momentum going with two repeating Three-Number Combinations!

Powerball maintains much of the momentum heading into Saturday and it’s possible that the jackpot will jump again. Lotto Texas shouldn’t be discounted, though; the prize there is a more “respectable” sort of juggernaut. Will the results of Saturday night lead to another jackpot climb, or will at least one prize be won?

For Pattern Streak Kicks

The theme of the evening for February 6th was “Pattern streak”. After an astounding six consecutive appearances, Lotto Texas’s {3-2-1} Pattern bowed out. Meanwhile, Powerball looked to be developing a streak with its {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern.

One commonality between the lotteries was the lack of a grand prize winner. Their respective prizes climbed to $6.75 million and $224 million.

General Lottery Analysis

With winning numbers 9, 11, 34, 35, 44, and 48, both the {2-2-2} Pattern and the 2 2 2 Specific Order made their 224th appearance. One could say an Australia Play hopped in the {3-2-1} Pattern’s place.

The End-of-Month Hop-Along

September is over. The beach towels have been replaced with textbooks, the flip flops for shoes, and the holiday decorations are starting to come out in full force. In the lottery world, Lotto Texas and Powerball had their last drawings for the month September 29th. Their grand prizes rose once again, and now stand at $9 million and $229 million, respectively. Saturday night was also a good one for lovers of Australia Plays and (repeating) Combinations.

Powerball

On the same night as Lotto Texas, Powerball’s winning numbers were 24, 61, 63, 64, 69 and PB 18.

Everybody Loves Australia (Plays)

Who doesn’t love Australia, right? What with the surfing, the wildlife, the weather…

But seriously. August 8, 2018 was a night like no other. In fact, something so wild, so crazy happened that we can’t talk about it in this paragraph. All we can tell you right now is that the jackpots for Lotto Texas and Powerball rose to a respective $16 million and $245 million.

Could another first take place Saturday night with both Australia Plays making an encore?

The Australia Play Double Feature

Someone became at least $522 million richer after the July 24, 2018 Mega Millions drawing. Any lottery that had a drawing the next night would have its work cut out for it. Both Lotto Texas and Powerball rose to the occasion July 25th. Not only did their jackpots rise to $13 million and $168 million, respectively, they both saw an Australia Play! To learn more about what an Australia Play is, click here. Although the post covered Lotto Texas, the same principle applies to Powerball and Mega Millions.

Sucker Punch Combinations & A Pattern Encore

June ended with a bang. With no grand prize winners in either Lotto Texas or Powerball, the jackpots are now $8.25 million and $70 million, respectively. Other noteworthy events were the end of the (brief) {3-2-1} Pattern streak in Lotto Texas and possibly the start of one in Powerball.

Lotto Texas

General Lottery Analysis

Although the {3-2-1} Pattern didn’t see a “four-peat”, there was something else that might have rivaled it: an Australia Play! That is, the Pattern and the Specific Order were the same. Furthermore, the Specific Order is unique to said Pattern.

With winning numbers 5, 8, 29, 32, 40, and 48, both the {2-2-2} Pattern and the 2 2 2 Specific Order made their 218th appearance.

This Specific Order has also played in 8% of the 100 drawings where {2-1-1-1-1} was the winning Pattern, and in roughly 2.86% of all 286 drawings. Prior to Saturday night, the 2 1 1 0 1 1 Specific Order played on March 21st, 2018.
