What Goes Up…

What goes up does come down (eventually), and lottery jackpots are no exception. However, this did not apply to either Lotto Texas or Powerball. Much like the fireworks of July 4, 2020, the jackpots soared ever upward. Lotto Texas shot up to $25 million and Powerball rocketed to $69 million.

The simple act of stopping a Pattern streak was enough of a fireworks show. No repeating Four-Number Combinations this time around.

Finding the {3-2-1} Pattern where it isn’t seen very often was enough to block the occurrence of repeating Three-Number Combinations.

The Pattern Streak Double Strikedown

Lotto Texas and Powerball have acted like a playground clique these days. They play together, so it’s expected that they’ll copy each other, or even be in sync with each other now and again. Lately, both lotteries have been in the grip of streaks with their most common Patterns.

On May 9, 2020, the Pattern streaks came to an end. Both the {3-2-1} Pattern and the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern streaks were struck down with Australia Plays. That is, the Pattern, General Order (applicable to Powerball only) and the Specific Order were the same. This interesting turn of events kept the jackpots climbing. Lotto Texas rose to $15.25 million and Powerball rose to $77 million.

All Roads Lead to Rising Jackpots

There was in fact, a double encore in Powerball! First was the {3-1-1-1} Pattern, with winning numbers 1, 33, 35, 40, 69, and PB 24. This Pattern has now played 92 times.

Given that there have now been 475 Powerball drawings, this Pattern has played 19.4% of the time.

The other encore was the [1-3-1-1] General Order. Now with 32 appearances, this General Order has played in 34.8% of the 92 drawings where {3-1-1-1} was the winning Pattern. Once all 475 drawings have been taken into consideration, this General Order has played 6.74% of the time.

Both the {3-1-1-1} Pattern and the [1-3-1-1] General Order were last seen April 18, 2020.

As April is nearing its end, we’ll need to keep an eye out for Pattern encores. Take the {3-1-1-1} Pattern in Powerball, for example. After its encore, is a three-peat in the cards Saturday night? Will we also see an Australia Play encore in Lotto Texas?

Some Patterns Like to Repeat Themselves

This week belonged to the Australia Play! Lotto Texas saw this plucky play go for the encore Saturday night. With no one able to pick all six numbers, the jackpot climbed to $9.25 million.

Powerball didn’t see the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern three-peat, although it was close to embracing a playback. A jackpot increasing to $130 million was proof that a “regular” play can be just as effective, all things considered.

Will an Australia Play streak form in Lotto Texas and will the {2-2-1-1} Pattern encore in Powerball?

The Playback, the Encore, and the Combination Madness

The world is currently in the grip of a pandemic. Closures and cancellations are happening left and right, work-at-home policies are being enacted, and toilet paper might as well be gold. Now is the time to plan ahead, practice good hygiene and use common sense. When others are losing their cool, don’t lose yours.

Considering all that’s happening, lotteries are the lucky ones. After all, they don’t worry themselves with illnesses or economies. Their biggest concern is their jackpots and what to do with them. Should they throw players a bone and let them win, or is it more fun to thwart them? Sure, the players will be spitting nails and gnashing their teeth, but many of them will come back and try again.
