The Midweek Double Lottery Hop

Many of us breathe a little easier on Wednesday nights. The work week (and school week) is 60% over, and there’s a light at the end of the tunnel. In other parts of the world, Wednesday is like Friday for us.

Lotto Texas and Powerball had reason to celebrate March 9, 2022. As they jumped into Wednesday night, they each came out the other side with an Australia Play! Additionally, the jackpots received an extra kick. Lotto Texas’s jackpot grew to a respectable $5.5 million, and Powerball’s climbed to $112 million.

How Jackpots Stay Warm

One good thing about January is that the days start to get longer. Thing is, that’s when winter really begins; the Christmas season is usually an appetizer. The snowplows and shovels get a workout, kids (and adults) pray for a snow day, and those in warmer climates hope, sometimes in vain, that they get to try on their winter wardrobe at least once this season. Those who hate the cold would rather hibernate, or at least stay inside where it’s warm. Better yet, they’d travel to the Southern Hemisphere if they could. After all, it is summer down there. Maybe with a little help from Lotto Texas and Powerball, the escape to a warm, far away place will come to pass.

Lotto Texas and Powerball crushed those dreams this past Wednesday night. In fact, Lotto Texas, saw fit to go Down Under alone. That had the effect of keeping the jackpot kicking and hopping up to $6.25 million. Powerball saw to it that its jackpot would be better off rising to a toasty $48 million than exposed to the cold.

Lotto Texas

General Lottery Analysis

Lotto Texas felt January 12, 2022, was a good night for an Australia Play. With winning numbers 7, 12, 19, 33, 39 and 40, both the {2-2-2} Pattern and the 2 2 2 Specific Order made their 267th appearance.

An Australia Play has been featured in 13.7% of the 1954 Lotto Texas drawings and was last seen December 29, 2021.

Similar Spread

Wednesday night’s Australia Play was no mere Australia Play! The numbers had a spread of 05:07:14: 06:01. If we look at the winning numbers of May 18, 2016, 20, 26, 40, 47, 48 and 53, they had a spread that night of 06:14:07:01:05. Remember that even though the differences between numbers were the same on both nights, their orders (and the numbers played) were different.

Four-Number Combination(s)

Of course, Lotto Texas went above and beyond with a trio of repeating Four-Number Combinations:

  • 7, 19, 33, 40 (Debuted March 10, 2001)
  • 12, 19, 33, 40 (Debuted April 10, 2010)

Whoa! This holiday season’s been filled with Combination repeats, rarely played Patterns, Australia plays, and fallouts. And now, the Lottery world’s about to start the new year with a half-billion-dollar jackpot in Powerball! Will the jackpot be won? This is Romulun Harris signing off and wishing you a Happy New Year’s Eve!

Play’s the Same

Repetition is key, even if it may not look like it on the surface. Some Patterns repeat more than others and in turn makes them the most likely to gift someone with millions of dollars. However, the nature of these repeats varies. The most common form is the encore. Given enough time, that encore may evolve into a three-peat or even a Pattern streak.

What about other forms of repetition? What happens when lotteries take inspiration from not just the recent past but other lotteries themselves?

Wednesday night looked a lot like this past Saturday for Lotto Texas. Meanwhile, Powerball drew inspiration from a very recent Mega Millions! Once the dust cleared, both lotteries saw larger jackpots. Lotto Texas grew to $12.25 million, and Powerball stood strong at $307 million.
