A Dip in the Playback Pool

Here’s a fun fact: July 2nd is the actual halfway point of the year. We are officially 50% done with 2022! Since the mid-year point is knee-deep in summer in Lottery Trend country, what better way to celebrate than jumping into the pool (and watching fireworks)? There are your above-ground pools, your lap pools, your indoor pools and so on, but what about number pools? They may not be filled with water, but they have a way of changing people’s lives.

Lotto Texas and Powerball hung out by the playback pool Saturday night. One lottery cannonballed into the pool while the other stuck their toes in. The result for both lotteries was the same: rising jackpots! Lotto Texas’s jackpot jumped to $5.75 million, and Powerball’s jackpot rebounded to $26 million.

Lotto Texas

General Lottery Analysis

Lotto Texas jumped right into an Australia Play. With winning numbers 6, 17, 19, 36, 49 and 51, both the {2-2-2} Pattern and the 2 2 2 Specific Order have played 281 times.

An Australia Play has been featured in 13.9% of the 2027 Lotto Texas drawings and was last seen June 25, 2022.

What fireworks will Lotto Texas and Powerball have on display Monday night?

The Night That Repeats Dominated

In the last Lotto Texas/Powerball post, we talked about how repeats tend to dominate the airwaves during the summer. Perhaps there’s no better night for repeats than Saturday night! After all, many people go out on Saturdays, and when opting to stay in, they have more options than they did 40, 30, or even 10 years ago. Just as TV channels are fond of repeats, so are lotteries.

Pattern repeats dominated the lottery landscape June 25, 2022. In fact, it was a Pattern three-peat in Lotto Texas that forced the jackpot to reset to $5 million. Powerball’s Pattern encore gave the jackpot another boost, pushing it to $346 million.

Lotto Texas

General Lottery Analysis

Could either the Australia Play or the {2-2-1-1} Pattern be setting up to end June with Pattern streaks?

Bounding into Summer

Summer isn’t just about hot temperatures and beating the heat. Summer’s a time for travel, a time for adventure, and a time for repeats.

“Repeats?” you ask.

For as long as television has been around, summer has been a time where repeats dominated the airwaves. Broadcast or cable, it mattered not. If you turned on the TV, chances are it was on an episode you had seen a bajillion times. No harm in watching it a bajillion and one times, right?

Now, repeats in and of themselves aren’t necessarily a bad thing. They certainly aren’t for lotteries! After all, if you miss something the first time, you won’t miss it again, right?

Except, if you played Lotto Texas this past Monday and played again Wednesday night, you likely missed the Australia Play again. But don’t worry! The jackpot grew to $7.25 million, certainly not small change! Powerball didn’t see an encore, but it saw its jackpot shoot up to $335 million.

Looks like the summer season’s begun with a few surprises for the Lottery World: an Australia Play in Lotto Texas, and an incrementing jackpot along with a Three-Number Combination appearing for the third time in Powerball. We can definitely expect more surprises to come. This is Romulun Harris signing off. Stay safe and Happy Summer!

The Pattern Done Lost its Grip

Well, folks, it had to come to an end sooner or later. Since May 4th, the {3-2-1} Pattern reigned in Lotto Texas, and on Saturday night, it got pushed aside for another Pattern. Even though the Pattern changed, one element did stay consistent: the rising jackpot. In the end, the Lotto Texas jackpot grew to $16 million.

Earlier in the week, the {3-2-1} Pattern paid Powerball a visit as well. This Pattern isn’t as common there as it is in Lotto Texas, so the lack of an encore wasn’t that surprising. In its place was Powerball’s most played Pattern and a jackpot that grew to $125 million.

Lotto Texas

There have now been 2009 Lotto Texas drawings, and both the {2-2-2} Pattern and the 2 2 2 Specific Order have played 13.8% of the time. An Australia Play was last seen in the May 2, 2022 drawing.

Similar Spread

Not feeling content with a playback (Remember: All Australia Plays are playbacks, but not all playbacks are Australia Plays), Lotto Texas decided to throw in a similar spread! Saturday night’s numbers had a spread of 01:05:03:13:08. If we look further back, June 2, 2012 saw a spread of 01:08:13:03:05, thanks to 2, 3, 11, 24, 27 and 32. Notice how even though the differences between numbers were the same, their orders were different.

Lotto Texas and Powerball’s Double Playback Extravaganza

A special thanks to Romulun Harris for filling in last night at short notice. Your work is always appreciated!

A collective sigh of relief is let out on Wednesday evenings. For many workers and students, the week is halfway over, and the fog is starting to lift. Some, in kind, lift a glass to toast their making it to another midweek. Others lift a lottery ticket (or two, or three…) and play in the hopes that they won’t need to endure another week workin’ for The Man™. Often, the grind continues. It’s even more of an upset when there are two lotteries in play, and they decide to take a note from each other’s playbook.

April 13, 2022 meant not one but two playbacks! Admittedly, Lotto Texas took the “easy” route with an Australia Play, but that pushed the jackpot to $9.25 million just as well. Powerball liked a challenge, going with a different approach, which in turn boosted its jackpot to $325 million.

Lotteries on the Edge of Spring

At long last, winter is starting to wind down. The tug of war between warmer and colder weather will continue for a little while, but warmth will prevail. The days will get longer, the flowers will bloom, and then the countdown to summer will begin. Before we get ahead of ourselves, let’s focus on the present, or in this case, the recent past!

According to the calendar, March 19, 2022 was the last day of winter this year, and Lotto Texas and Powerball had the honor of hosting the last drawings of the season. One lottery had a run-in with a playback, and the other came close. Playback or no, Lotto Texas and Powerball saw their respective jackpots grow to $6.5 million and $156 million.
