Summer Spread & Summer Streak

Whether the summers really are getting longer and hotter or it’s just you, air conditioning is a blessing. All you need to do is turn down the thermostat, plop on the couch, and let the cool air blow. That is, unless the air conditioner breaks down and you’re dripping in sweat. You may then be tempted to take off some or even all your clothes and walk around just to feel a breeze. Thankfully, lotteries don’t engage in that kind of streak. Interestingly, things get hotter in the lottery world whenever there’s a streak. A Pattern streak, that is!

July 16, 2022 was the night that Powerball’s {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern got into streak mode. Entering “streak mode” unleashed a bombardment of repeating Three-Number Combinations and helped push the jackpot to a robust $89 million. Meanwhile, Lotto Texas took to a different approach. Ever the classy one, this lottery switched out Patterns, which pushed the jackpot to $7.25 million.

Lotto Texas

General Lottery Analysis

Instead of a {3-3} Pattern encore, Lotto Texas opted for the {4-1-1} Pattern instead. This Pattern’s 222nd appearance was made possible by 15, 19, 42, 48, 49 and 50.

As classy as Lotto Texas was, that didn’t prevent this lottery from spreading out! Saturday night’s numbers had a spread of 04:23:06:01:01. If we go back to the August 26, 2009 drawing, the numbers that played that night – 14, 15, 16, 22, 26 and 49 – had a spread of 01:01:06:04:23. Note that the differences between numbers were the same, but their orders were different.

How high will the jackpots in Lotto Texas and Powerball soar, and will they receive an assist from Pattern streaks?

The Pattern Done Lost its Grip

Well, folks, it had to come to an end sooner or later. Since May 4th, the {3-2-1} Pattern reigned in Lotto Texas, and on Saturday night, it got pushed aside for another Pattern. Even though the Pattern changed, one element did stay consistent: the rising jackpot. In the end, the Lotto Texas jackpot grew to $16 million.

Earlier in the week, the {3-2-1} Pattern paid Powerball a visit as well. This Pattern isn’t as common there as it is in Lotto Texas, so the lack of an encore wasn’t that surprising. In its place was Powerball’s most played Pattern and a jackpot that grew to $125 million.

Not feeling content with a playback (Remember: All Australia Plays are playbacks, but not all playbacks are Australia Plays), Lotto Texas decided to throw in a similar spread! Saturday night’s numbers had a spread of 01:05:03:13:08. If we look further back, June 2, 2012 saw a spread of 01:08:13:03:05, thanks to 2, 3, 11, 24, 27 and 32. Notice how even though the differences between numbers were the same, their orders were different.

As May begins to wind down, will other Patterns try to establish a streak in the week ahead?

The Spread is Strong with These Two

“May the fourth be with you.”

You probably hear this at least once every May 4th. For those out of the loop, May 4th is the unofficial holiday known as Star Wars Day. Sure, this series can be celebrated any day, but if you think about it, May 4th is fitting!

While “Star Wars” fans got their geek on, Lotto Texas and Powerball were engaged in a battle in a galaxy not so far away. May 4, 2022 was a night of similar spreads, a Pattern encore, and rising jackpots. Lotto Texas ascended to $12.5 million, and Powerball propelled itself to $51 million.

The differences between the numbers played on both nights may have been the same, but their orders were different.

Four-Number Combinations

Lotto Texas may have stepped away from repeating Five-Number Combinations, but the love for the repeating Four-Number kind remained. Repeating Four-Number Combination 6, 14, 27 and 33 debuted July 23, 2008.

Are more Pattern repeats in store Saturday night?

Lotto Texas and Powerball March Into April

March 30, 2022 fell on a Wednesday, which meant the last drawings of the month for both Lotto Texas and Powerball. One thing for certain was that neither lottery ended the month quietly! A playback here, a similar spread there, among other things, not only gave these lotteries a power boost, but their jackpots received a boost as well! Lotto Texas gracefully rose to $7.75 million, and Powerball’s jackpot strolled upward and onward to $222 million.

Similarly, the October 23, 2013 drawing had a spread of 01:05:19:02:07, thanks to 12, 13, 18, 37, 39 and 46. Looking closely, we can see that even though the differences between numbers both nights were the same, their orders (and the numbers played) were different.

Will this momentum for both Lotto Texas and Powerball carry over to Saturday night?

The Spreading Pattern Streak Blocker

Variety is the spice of life, as they say, and there are a variety of spreads. Some enhance the taste of sandwiches, and others make beds look nice. There are others still, but today, we shall look at one that thrives in the lottery world. Now, it doesn’t show up often, but when it does, it makes a big impact!

This, ladies and gentlemen, is the similar spread, and Mega Millions encountered one in Friday night’s drawing. That and a bombardment of repeating Three-Number Combinations pushed the jackpot past $100 million: $102 million to be precise.

General Lottery Analysis

February 25, 2022 marked the 319th appearance of the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern, with numbers 15, 31, 40, 56, 66 and MB 4.

Ramming Through with Similar Spreads

February may be the shortest month, but what it lacks in length it more than makes up in festiveness! The Super Bowl is in February, and Valentine’s Day adds a touch of love in the air. If you’re not into football or romance, or even if you are, you might be able to swing by a Mardi Gras parade. You Mardi Gras lovers will have to wait a little longer this year; it’s not until March 1st.

As people stocked up on Super Bowl snacks and prepared for a romantic getaway (or an opportunity to embrace self-love), Mega Millions decided to shake things up. Friday night featured not one but two similar spreads! This unique move pushed the jackpot to $53 million.

General Lottery Analysis

The February 11, 2022 drawing featured the 142nd appearance of the {3-1-1-1} Pattern with 11, 16, 23, 24, 30 and MB 24.

Similar Spreads

The Friday night spread was 05:07:01:06. There were two, yes two nights with spreads that were similar!

  • The first happened May 12, 2017. That night, 28, 34, 41, 42, 47 and MB 13 were the winning numbers, and they had a spread of 06:07:01:05.
  • Next was February 9, 2018. The winning numbers were 28, 34, 41, 46, 47 and MB 14, and their spread was 06:07:05:01.

In all three instances, the differences between numbers played were the same but of course, their orders were different.

Three-Number Combinations

Having two similar spreads in one night left Mega Millions without the energy to pursue repeating Three-Number Combinations.

Seeing one similar spread in a night is one thing, but two? We’ll have to see if Mega Millions does it again Tuesday night or if this lottery decides to pursue a more “quieter” route.

Australia Play: The Lottery Saga

The Australia Play was a hit this past week! Lotto Texas embraced it Wednesday night, and although it left the Australia Play for a more “popular” Pattern Saturday night, this unique play took root in Powerball. The trade-off was a boost to both lotteries’ jackpots, with Lotto Texas rising to $6.5 million and Powerball rising to $53 million.

Will the Australia Play hang around next week?

How Jackpots Stay Warm

One good thing about January is that the days start to get longer. Thing is, that’s when winter really begins; the Christmas season is usually an appetizer. The snowplows and shovels get a workout, kids (and adults) pray for a snow day, and those in warmer climates hope, sometimes in vain, that they get to try on their winter wardrobe at least once this season. Those who hate the cold would rather hibernate, or at least stay inside where it’s warm. Better yet, they’d travel to the Southern Hemisphere if they could. After all, it is summer down there. Maybe with a little help from Lotto Texas and Powerball, the escape to a warm, far away place will come to pass.

Lotto Texas and Powerball crushed those dreams this past Wednesday night. In fact, Lotto Texas, saw fit to go Down Under alone. That had the effect of keeping the jackpot kicking and hopping up to $6.25 million. Powerball saw to it that its jackpot would be better off rising to a toasty $48 million than exposed to the cold.

Lotto Texas

Remember that even though the differences between numbers were the same on both nights, their orders (and the numbers played) were different.
