Encore at the Halfway Point

November 15, 2017 was an important day. It marked the halfway point of the month, and a reminder that (U.S.) Thanksgiving is right around the corner. To all you U.S. readers, don’t panic! You’ve got about a week left to make plans. Lottery-wise, Lotto Texas had all the fun.

Right off the heels of Saturday’s drawing, the {4-1-1} Pattern made an encore. This time around, the winning numbers were 2, 5, 8, 18, 32, and 37.

With 165 appearances to date, this Pattern has now played in 4.34% of the 1499 Lotto Texas drawings.

Now with 54 appearances, the 4 1 1 Specific Order has played in 32.7% of the 165 drawings where the {4-1-1} Pattern has appeared. Given that there have been 1499 drawings, this Specific Order has played in 3.60% of them. Prior to Wednesday night, it was last seen in the October 11, 2017 drawing.

Four-Number Combination(s)

There was a repeating Four-Number Combination nestled in these numbers. The Combination this time was 5, 8, 32, and 37.

It was nearly four years ago when this Combination made its debut. More specifically, it was the December 11, 2013 drawing.

Powerball

General Lottery Analysis

Powerball saw no such Pattern encore. Instead, the {3-1-1-1} Pattern made its 42^nd appearance, with winning numbers 23, 32, 44, 48, 50, and PB 25.

This Pattern has now played in 19% of the 221 Powerball drawings, and it was last seen on October 11, 2017.

Making its 19^th appearance was the [1-1-3-1] General Order, which has now played in 45.2% of the 42 drawings where the {3-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared. This General Order has also played in roughly 8.6% of the 221 drawings. We last saw the [1-1-3-1] General Order in the October 7, 2017 drawing.

The 0 1 1 3 0 1 Specific Order made its second appearance. It has now played in 10.5% of the 19 drawings where the [1-1-3-1] General Order has appeared. This Specific Order has also played in 4.76% of the 42 drawings where the {3-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 0.90% of all 221 drawings. The 0 1 1 3 0 1 Specific Order made its debut this past summer, in the July 1, 2017 drawing.

Veteran’s Day/Remembrance Day is a time to remember the veterans of wars past and present. Perhaps it was fitting that neither Lotto Texas nor Powerball saw Pattern encores November 11, 2017. One Lottery saw its most common Pattern. The other Pattern, while not nearly so common, has had decent showings.

Making its 56^th appearance was the 1 4 1 Specific Order. This Specific Order has played in 34.1% of the 164 drawings where the {4-1-1} Pattern has appeared. It has also played in 3.74% of all Lotto Texas drawings. We last saw the 1 4 1 Specific Order in the March 8, 2017 drawing.

Four-Number Combination(s)

For the first time since November 1^st, there were no repeating Four-Number Combinations.

Powerball

General Lottery Analysis

The winning numbers were 4, 6, 16, 30, 56, and PB 18. This brought the number of appearances of the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern to 81.

Given that there have been 220 Powerball drawings to date, this Pattern has played in 36.8% of them. This Pattern previously played in the October 25, 2017 drawing.

Now with 19 appearances, the [2-1-1-1-1] General Order has played in 23.5% of the 81 drawings where the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared. This General Order has also played in 8.64% of all 220 drawings. It accompanied the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern in the earlier-mentioned October 25^th drawing.

The 2 1 1 1 0 1 Specific Order made its fourth appearance, and has now played in 21.1% of the 19 drawings where the [2-1-1-1-1] General Order appeared. This Specific Order has also played in 4.94% of the 81 drawings where the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared. After a Four-Number Combination appeared in Powerball this past weekend, anything right after would pale in comparison, right? Even though the night of October 11^th wasn’t as explosive, there were still some big plays. The {3-2-1} Pattern streak was shattered in Lotto Texas. Meanwhile, Powerball saw a Pattern encore. And then some.

This Pattern has now played 41 times, and has appeared in 19.4% of the 211 Powerball drawings.

With ten appearances, the [3-1-1-1] General Order has played in 24.4% of the 41 drawings where the {3-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared. This General Order has also played in 4.74% of all 211 drawings. When we last saw the [3-1-1-1] General Order, it was during the dog days of summer. More specifically, during the August 12^th, 2017 drawing.

Powerball stole the night with big plays. One such play was the debut of the 3 1 0 0 1 1 Specific Order! This has now played in 10% of the ten drawings where the [3-1-1-1] General Order has appeared. Additionally, this Specific Order has played in 2.44% of the 41 drawings where the {3-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 0.47% of all 211 drawings.

No, there weren’t any repeating Four-Number Combinations! But, there was some repeating Combination action.

Three-Number Combination(s)

A Big Playback and a World Debut

Summer has come and gone for Lotto Texas and Powerball. Although there were no encores, nor repeating Four-Number or Three-Number Combinations, there were a couple of interesting plays September 20^th.

Lotto Texas

With winning numbers 7, 12, 13, 15, 19, and 37, the {4-1-1} Pattern made its 162^nd appearance in Lotto Texas.

To date, there have been 1483 drawings, and this Pattern has played in 10.9% of them.

Now with 52 appearances, the 4 1 1 Specific Order has played in 32.1% of the 162 drawings where the {4-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 3.51% of all 1483 drawings.

What made Wednesday night’s Lotto Texas drawing interesting was that both the {4-1-1} Pattern and the 4 1 1 Specific Order were seen together earlier this month! More specifically, on September 2, 2017.

Powerball

Wednesday night’s winning numbers for Powerball were 39, 48, 53, 67, 68, and PB 26, marking the 61^st appearance of the {2-2-1-1} Pattern.

This Pattern has now played in 29.8% of the 205 Powerball drawings, and was last seen on September 13, 2017.

Making its 18^th appearance was the [1-2-2-1] General Order, now having played in 29.5% of the 61 drawings where the {2-2-1-1} Pattern has appeared. This General Order has also played in 8.78% of all 205 drawings. We last saw this General Order March 25, 2017.

Our Powerball coverage concludes with the world debut of the 0 0 1 2 2 1 Specific Order. As of Wednesday night, this Specific Order has played in 5.56% of the 18 drawings where the [1-2-2-1] General Order has appeared. This Specific Order has also played in 1.64% of the 61 drawings where the {2-2-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 0.49% of all 205 drawings.

Will Lotto Texas and Powerball welcome fall with big plays of their own Saturday night, or will they welcome the season with little fanfare?

The 4-1-1 on Major Plays

There were no encores for either Lotto Texas or Powerball the night of September 16^th. Yet, it was far from a quiet night. Although Lotto Texas saw a repeating Four-Number Combination, it was Powerball that saw the biggest play of the evening. One of the biggest was the appearance of a Pattern so rare that it had only played twice before, and made one player $133 million richer.

Lotto Texas

With winning numbers 4, 9, 18, 36, 40, and 41, the {3-2-1} Pattern made its 772^nd appearance.

This Pattern has now played in 52.1% of the 1482 Lotto Texas drawings, and was seen in the September 9^th drawing exactly one week ago.

Making its 142^nd appearance was the 3 1 2 Specific Order, which has now played in 18.4% of the 772 drawings where the {3-2-1} Pattern has appeared. This Specific Order has also played in 9.58% of the 1482 drawings to date, and previously played on September 6^th, 2017.

The repeating Four-Number Combination of the evening was 9, 18, 40, and 41.

This Combination made its debut in the August 6^th, 2016 drawing. Compared to most repeating Four-Number Combinations we’ve discussed, this one is recent.

Powerball

For the third time ever, the {4-1-1} Pattern played in Powerball! The winning numbers were 17, 18, 24, 25, 31, and PB 24.

This Pattern has now played in 1.47% of the 204 Powerball drawings. We last saw this Pattern over a year ago. More specifically, the August 17^th, 2016 drawing.

With its second appearance, the [4-1-1] General Order has played in 67% of the three drawings where the {4-1-1} Pattern has played, and in 0.98% of all 204 drawings. This General Order made its debut in the April 13^th, 2016 drawing.

Making its world debut in Powerball was the 0 4 1 0 0 1 Specific Order. This Specific Order has now played in 50% of the two drawings where the [4-1-1] General Order has appeared, and in 33% of the three drawings where the {4-1-1} Pattern has appeared. This Specific Order has also played in 0.49% of all 204 drawings.

So far, it looks like Lotto Texas and Powerball are getting ready for a big send-off to summer. Will the momentum continue into next week?

Pre-Labor Day 4-1-1

Lotto Texas and Powerball kicked off September, and Labor Day weekend, with some not-commonly-seen Patterns. To make things even more interesting, one of these lotteries saw an Australia Play the night of September 2^nd. In fact, it hadn’t seen one in nearly six months! Can you guess which one?

Lotto Texas

Making its 161^st appearance, the {4-1-1} Pattern has now played in 10.9% of the 1478 Lotto Texas drawings. The winning numbers were 2, 10, 14, 15, 31, and 38.

Prior to Saturday night, we last saw this Pattern in the July 8, 2017 drawing.

Now with 51 appearances, the 4 1 1 Specific Order has played in 31.7% of the 161 drawings where the {4-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 3.45% of all 1478 drawings. This Specific Order previously played in the March 29, 2017 drawing.

There were two repeating Four-Number Combinations:

Powerball

By process of elimination, ‘twas Powerball that saw the Australia Play. This was fitting, as Saturday night had the 200^th drawing with number balls 1 through 69, and Powerballs 1- 26. With winning numbers 6, 21, 41, 52, 62, and PB 26, this was the 17^th time that the {1-1-1-1-1-1} Pattern appeared.

This also meant the 17^th appearance of the [1-1-1-1-1-1] General Order and the 1 1 1 1 1 1 Specific Order. All three have now played in 8.5% of the 200 Powerball drawings, and were last seen in the March 11, 2017 drawing.

As momentous as it was to see an Australia Play, there were no repeating Three-Number Combinations.

Will either the {4-1-1} or {1-1-1-1-1-1} Patterns make an encore appearance in next Wednesday’s drawing? Will other rare Patterns get a spot in the limelight?

The Big Combination Freeze

Things got even chillier July 8, 2017. For the past few weeks, the Lotto Texas/Powerball posts covered at least one lottery having either a repeating Four-Number or Three-Number Combination, respectively. Saturday night was the first time since June 14, 2017 that there were no repeating Four-Number or Three-Number Combinations. Just as well, for the Fourth of July has come and gone, and those who took mini-vacations are making their way back to work.

Lotto Texas

The {4-1-1} Pattern made its 160^th appearance with winning numbers 8, 33, 38, 43, 51, and 53.

This Pattern has now played in 10.9% of the 1462 drawings. Speaking of June 14^th, this was the last time the {4-1-1} Pattern was seen.

Now with 55 appearances, the 1 1 4 Specific Order has played in approximately 34.4% of the 160 drawings where the {4-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 3.76% of all 1462 drawings. Like the {4-1-1} Pattern, this Specific Order was also last seen in the June 14^th drawing.

Powerball

Making its 56^th appearance, the {2-2-1-1} Pattern has now played in 30.4% of the 184 Powerball drawings. The winning numbers were 8, 10, 29, 40, 59, and PB 26.

This Pattern was last seen in the June 28, 2017 drawing; this was almost two weeks ago.

Next, the [2-2-1-1] General Order made its 22^nd appearance, and has played in 39.3% of the 56 drawings where the {2-2-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in approximately 12% of all 184 drawings. Like the {2-2-1-1} Pattern, this General Order was last seen in the June 28^th drawing.

Other than the lack of repeating Three-Number Combinations, one of the biggest highlights of Powerball was the debut of the 2 0 2 0 1 1 Specific Order. This Specific Order has now played in 4.55% of the 22 drawings where the [2-2-1-1] General Order has appeared. It has also played in 1.79% of the 56 drawings where the {2-2-1-1} Pattern has appeared and 0.54% of all drawings.

Will the cool down continue into next week, or will things heat up a bit?

Getting the 4-1-1 and Then Some

After a quiet Tuesday night, Mega Millions kicked it up a thousand notches in the June 16^th drawing. Friday night saw the appearance of one of the least commonly seen Patterns. While that’s a big deal in and of itself here at Lottery Binge, that wasn’t the biggest draw of the evening. There was more to this Pattern than appearing after a lengthy period of absence. What made this Pattern interesting was that this time around, a repeating Four-Number Combination made an appearance. Such a thing is a rarity in Mega Millions.

The {4-1-1} Pattern made its thirteenth appearance with winning numbers 18, 22, 26, 30, 44, and MB 9.

This Pattern has now played in 3.40% of the 382 Mega Millions drawing and was last seen in the October 11, 2016 drawing.

Making its seventh appearance, the [4-1-1] General Order has now played in 53.8% of the 13 drawings where the {4-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 1.83% of all 382 drawings. Like the {4-1-1} Pattern, this General Order was also last seen in the October 11^th drawing.

Now with two appearances, the 0 4 1 0 0 1 Specific Order has played in 28.6% of the seven drawings where the [4-1-1] General Order has appeared. This Specific Order has also played in 15.4% of the 13 drawings where the {4-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 0.52% of all 382 drawings. The 0 4 1 0 0 1 Specific Order made its debut in the September 19, 2014 drawing. Will it be another two years and nine months before this Specific Order is seen again?

Now it’s time to discuss the biggest event of the evening: the ever-so rare repeating Four-Number Combination. The Combination of the evening was 18, 26, 30, and 44, and it made its debut in the March 15, 2016 drawing.

Of course, there’s always more beneath the surface when it comes to these lottery things. Nestled inside a repeating Four-Number Combination are four repeating Three-Number Combinations. Here’s Part II of the big event:

The Flag Day Smash

There is a US holiday in June, a little holiday called Flag Day. See, it falls on June 14^th every year, and it commemorates the adoption of the US flag on June 14, 1777. It wasn’t until the mid-twentieth century that Flag Day became a holiday. As much as USians love (US) football field-sized flags, explosions, chanting “USA! USA! USA!”, and explosions, Flag Day is a low-key affair there. Keeping with the Flag Day tradition, the Lotto Texas and Powerball drawings were low-key affairs the night of June 14, 2017. The {3-2-1} Pattern four-peat in Lotto Texas was smashed, not to mention that there were no repeating Four-Number Combinations. Powerball’s {2-2-1-1} Pattern didn’t get a chance to go for an encore, and there were no repeating Three-Number Combinations there, either. Yet, as low-key as the night was, there was an interesting development in Lotto Texas.

Wednesday night’s winning numbers were 11, 20, 37, 39, 44, and 49, bringing the number of appearances of the {4-1-1} Pattern to 159.

This Pattern has now played in 10.9% of the 1455 Lotto Texas drawings, and was last seen in the May 6, 2017 drawing.

The 1 1 4 Specific Order has now made 54 appearances, and has played in approximately 34% of the 159 drawings where the {4-1-1} Pattern has appeared. This Specific Order has also played in 3.71% of all 1455 drawings. In an interesting turn of events, the 1 1 4 Specific Order was also last seen in the May 6^th drawing.

Powerball

The {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern remained the most commonly seen Powerball Pattern. The winning numbers this time around were 5, 22, 43, 57, 63, and PB 24.

This Pattern has now appeared 64 times, and has played in 36.2% of the 177 Powerball drawings. The {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern previously played in the June 3, 2017 drawing.

Making its 20^th appearance, the [1-1-1-2-1] General Order has played in 31.25% of the 64 drawings where the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 11.3% of all 177 drawings. Prior to Wednesday night, this General Order was last seen in the March 1, 2017 drawing.

Now with four appearances, the 1 1 0 1 2 1 Specific Order has played in 20% of the 20 drawings where the [1-1-1-2-1] General Order has appeared. This Specific Order has also played in 6.25% of the 64 drawings where the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 2.26% of all 177 drawings. The 1 1 0 1 2 1 Specific Order was last seen in the May 14, 2016 drawing.

The summer solstice is nearly here. Will Lotto Texas and Powerball turn up the heat Saturday night, or will a new, low-key “streak” be established?

Post-Cinco de Mayo Combo Mambo

The calendar may have said that Cinco de Mayo was over, but that didn’t mean Lotto Texas and Powerball were going to be reserved! May 6^th was a Saturday after all, and both lotteries saw some big plays. Lotto Texas saw repeating Four-Number Combinations and Powerball saw one repeating Three-Number Combination. Before getting to these goodies in more detail, we must of course run through the “standard” analyses.

Lotto Texas

Saturday’s winning numbers were 14, 25, 38, 44, 46, and 48, making this the 158^th appearance of the {4-1-1} Pattern.

This Pattern has now played in 10.9% of the 1444 drawings, and was last seen in the March 29^th drawing a little over a month ago.

The 1 1 4 Specific Order made its 53^rd appearance, and has now played in 33.5% of the 158 drawings where the {4-1-1} Pattern has appeared. This Specific Order has also played in 3.67% of all Lotto Texas drawings. Prior to Saturday, the 1 1 4 Specific Order previously played in the October 12^th, 2016 drawing.

Reigning Pattern {2-1-1-1-1} made its 60^th appearance, with winning numbers 11, 21, 31, 41, 59, and PB 21.

This Pattern has now played in 36.1% of the 166 Powerball drawings, and previously played in the April 22^nd, 2017 drawing.

Making its 14^th appearance, the [1-1-2-1-1] General Order has played in approximately 23.33% of the 60 drawings where the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared. When looking at all 166 drawings, this statistic becomes 8.43%. This General Order was last seen in the April 19^th, 2017 drawing.

Now having appeared five times, the 1 1 2 0 1 1 Specific Order has played in 35.7% of the 14 drawings where the [1-1-2-1-1] General Order has appeared. This Specific Order has also played in 8.33% of the 60 drawings where the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 3.01% of all 166 drawings.
