Sturdy Jackpot Chains

A chain is no stronger than its weakest link, as they say. Looking at the results of August 8, 2020, the chains of Lotto Texas and Powerball held strong. So strong, in fact, that not one player could break the chains and free the jackpots. Lotto Texas, still on its high, settled on $31.25 million and Powerball climbed to $169 million.

Will the chains of Lotto Texas and Powerball grow even stronger next week, or will at least one of them break, spilling forth jackpot goodies?

Sitting High and Mighty on the Lottery Hill

We’ve entered the eighth month and the lotteries just won’t budge. Did Lotto Texas and Powerball find industrial-grade glue and plant themselves firmly at the top? Truthfully, it was their love of teasing players that kept the prizes unwinnable August 1, 2020. With no one picking the six winning numbers, Lotto Texas and Powerball ascended to $29.5 million and $147 million, respectively.

Will this summer of rising jackpots continue, or will at least one lottery jackpot come tumbling down in the weeks ahead?

Mega Millions’ Climbing Instinct

Animals, and that includes humans, have a little something called “instinct”. What separates humans from the other animals is that we can choose how to respond to our instincts (for the most part). And what of lotteries? Their instinct is to climb back up once they’re inevitably knocked down. The height to which they climb varies, but climb they do.

Mega Millions was no exception July 28, 2020. The penultimate drawing of the month was the beginning of yet another climb cycle. With no one selecting the six winning numbers, the jackpot rose to $22 million.

General Lottery Analysis

A cosmic shift came in the form of playing the {3-2-1} Pattern. With winning numbers 17, 20, 27, 31, 34 and MB 19, this Pattern played for the 29th time.

The {3-2-1} Pattern isn’t commonly seen in Mega Millions. Still, with the last drawing of the month happening this Friday, going big wouldn’t be out of the question. What better way to end July than with a {3-2-1} Pattern encore? We’ll have to wait and see!

Still Aboard the Jackpot Train

Summer 2020 is looking to be the summer of jackpot hikes. True, there are only a few days left in July and there’s still August but save for a couple of hiccups, Powerball has remained strong, and Lotto Texas has yet to stumble! July 22, 2020 meant taking on more jackpot. With no one picking the six winning numbers in either Lotto Texas or Powerball, their respective jackpots rose to $27.75 million and $117 million.

Milestone and Playback

Although it sounds like the title of a Z-grade throwback buddy cop film, we can assure you it’s not! July 18, 2020 was a historic day to be sure. Powerball had its 500th drawing and to celebrate, Lotto Texas saw a playback. Strange, that. Along with reaching an important milestone, Powerball saw its jackpot rise to $106 million. Lotto Texas continued to enjoy the thrill of a large jackpot, large for it, anyway. With no one selecting all six winning numbers, the Lotto Texas prize climbed to $27.25 million.

July 1st, obviously, is the first day of July. This year, it took on another meaning in the lottery world. It was on July 8, 2020, that it came back with a vengeance in both Lotto Texas and Powerball. In fact, it completely overtook the former. What Goes Up…

What goes up does come down (eventually), and lottery jackpots are no exception. However, this did not apply to either Lotto Texas or Powerball. Much like the fireworks of July 4, 2020, the jackpots soared ever upward. Lotto Texas shot up to $25 million and Powerball rocketed to $69 million.

Looking a Bit Like June Out There

A special thanks to guest blogger Romulun Harris for filling in yesterday at such short notice!

June is Pattern Streak Season

Lotto Texas has grown so much! Once a quiet, unassuming little lottery, it’s not only more confident, it has a large jackpot. This jackpot has grown over the course of several months, and thanks to the {3-2-1} Pattern streak, it received another boost! With no one able to pick all six winning numbers, the jackpot climbed to $23.5 million.

Powerball didn’t have a {3-1-1-1} Pattern encore to end its June run. Playing another Pattern sent the jackpot to $51 million.

Leaping, Bounding and Holding Strong

To our readers, especially our U.S. readers: The COVID-19 pandemic is NOT a hoax. States have halted reopening phases and countries are talking about banning (not quarantining, banning) U.S. travelers. If you want everything to go back to “normal”, then stop throwing tantrums, put on your big boy pants and wear a mask and practice social distancing. Stay home if you can. You can’t play the lottery if you’re dead.

Compared to humans, lotteries are uninhibited. They can go out and about without worrying about the things that ail us.

And on June 24, 2020, the lotteries held strong. Lotto Texas continued to go steady with the {3-2-1} Pattern and its jackpot graciously climbed to $23.25 million. Powerball grew by leaps and bounds, seeing a boost from $33 million to $42 million.
