End-of-Month Repeating Combination Blowout

Mega Millions was never one to pass up big plays. Instead of playing an extremely rare Pattern, or even a {2-2-1-1} Pattern encore, another route was taken. For those of you who get a kick out of repeating Three-Number Combinations, September 29th was your night! Friday saw a whopping six, count ‘em six repeating Three-Number Combinations. What triggered such a large number? We’ll get to that in a minute, but first, this general Mega Millions analysis.

The {3-1-1-1} Pattern made its 68th appearance, with winning numbers 25, 51, 62, 73, 74, and MB 7.

This Pattern has now played in 16.5% of the 412 drawings and was last seen earlier in the month. More specifically, in the September 8th drawing.

Now with 26 appearances, the [1-1-3-1] General Order has played in 38.2% of the 68 drawings where the {3-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 6.31% of all 412 drawings. Prior to Friday night, this General Order played in the August 22nd, 2017 drawing.

Making its third-ever appearance was the 0 1 0 0 1 3 1 Specific Order. This has now played in 11.5% of the 26 drawings where the [1-1-3-1] General Order has appeared, and in 4.41% of the 68 drawings where the {3-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared. This Specific Order has also played in 0.73% of all 412 drawings, and previously played on June 13th, 2017.

And now for the repeating Combinations bonanza. Part of what made this night so full of repeating Combinations was that there was a repeating Four-Number Combination. Repeating Four-Number Combinations are no stranger to Lotto Texas, but in Mega Millions, they don’t come by very often. This Combination was 25, 62, 74, and MB 7.

Of course, with a repeating Four-Number Combination, there are four repeating Three-Number Combinations nestled within:

  • 62, 74, MB 7
  • 25, 74, MB 7
  • 25, 62, MB 7
  • 25, 62, 74

These Combinations, and of course, the “mother” Four-Number Combination, made their debut in the December 29th, 2015 drawing.

These weren’t the only Combinations of the evening. In fact, there were two more repeating Three-Number Combinations:

  • 25, 51, 73 (Debuted September 16th, 2014)
  • 25, 51, MB 7 (Debuted January 13th, 2015)

Will Tuesday’s drawing see a {3-1-1-1} Pattern encore, or will the not often seen repeating Four-Number Combination make another appearance?

Falling for Uncommon Patterns and (Repeating) Combinations

Autumn has arrived in Lottery Trend Country. This is a time of cooler temperatures, shortening daytime hours, and of course, pumpkin spice lattes. Before we get far down the rabbit hole of said lattes and autumnal spices, we have the matter of the Lotto Texas and Powerball drawings to cover. September 23rd didn’t see a blowout for either lottery, but there were a couple of interesting plays, especially in Powerball.

Lotto Texas

With winning numbers 8, 10, 14, 17, 28, and 29, the {4-2} Pattern has now played 168 times.

The 0 1 0 3 1 1 Specific Order made its second appearance, and has now played in 15.4% of the 13 drawings where the [1-3-1-1] General Order has appeared. This Specific Order has also played in 5.13% of the 39 drawings where the {3-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 0.97% of all 206 drawings. This Specific Order hadn’t been seen in nearly eighteen months. In fact, it made its debut in the March 30, 2016 drawing.

Will either the {4-2} or the {3-1-1-1} Pattern see an encore Wednesday night?

{2-1-1-1-1} Blocker

The {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern did not, repeat, did not make a fifth consecutive appearance in the September 8th drawing. Instead, we saw a Pattern that, although has played a respectable number of times, hasn’t played nearly as often. This Pattern was also accompanied by two repeating Three-Number Combinations.

The Pattern of the evening was {3-1-1-1}. With winning numbers 4, 5, 14, 26, 73, and MB 14, this Pattern has now played 67 times.

Will the {3-1-1-1} Pattern be bold enough to make an encore in Tuesday’s drawing?

Repeating the Pattern

School has started up once again in our part of Lottery Trend Country. Be it heavy morning traffic or a storm brewing in the Gulf, there isn’t much that can deter Mega Millions. Feeling proud of itself after Friday night’s showing, the {3-1-1-1} Pattern made an encore appearance in the August 22nd drawing. Along for the ride were three repeating Three-Number Combinations.

Tuesday’s winning numbers were 24, 35, 46, 50, 51, and MB 7, bringing the total number of appearances of the {3-1-1-1} Pattern to 66.

Will the {3-1-1-1} Pattern go for the three-peat, or will it get washed away?

The Big 400

Summer vacation’s just about over in our part of Lottery Trend Country. What better way to say “Sayonara” to summer than hitting a milestone? The night of August 18th was the 400th Mega Millions drawing. To be more specific, it was the 400th drawing with number balls 1 through 75, and Mega Balls (MBs) 1 through 15. Although we didn’t see a Pattern encore, there was a repeating Three-Number Combination.

Friday’s winning numbers were 1, 31, 34, 40, 75, and MB 6, bringing the number of appearances of the {3-1-1-1} Pattern to 65.

Will the {3-1-1-1} Pattern make an encore appearance to kick off the school year?

Breaking Up the Streak

The {3-2-1} and {2-1-1-1-1} Patterns parted ways yet again on August 12th. The {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern streak in Powerball came to an end, yet the {3-2-1} Pattern made an encore in Lotto Texas. Joining the {3-2-1} Pattern were two repeating Four-Number Combinations.

Lotto Texas

With 766 appearances, the {3-2-1} Pattern continued to be the most commonly seen Pattern. Saturday night’s winning numbers were 5, 8, 16, 24, 25, and 46.

To see when the 3 2 1 Specific Order previously played, we need to go back to the June 17th, 2017 drawing.

Powerball

Powerball may have taken a cue from its “sister” lottery Mega Millions, since the {3-1-1-1} Pattern played here as well. The winning numbers were 20, 24, 26, 35, 49, and PB 19.

Looking to the week ahead, will the {3-2-1} Pattern go for a three-peat?

Without “2”

After a month, heck, a whole summer’s worth of streaks for the {2-1-1-1-1} and {2-2-1-1} Patterns, the {3-1-1-1} Pattern made itself known in the August 11, 2017 drawing. Believe it or not, it was this very Pattern that broke up the streak madness last time. On Friday night, it made someone in Illinois wealthier.

Friday’s winning numbers were 23, 33, 53, 56, 58, and MB 6, bringing the total number of appearances of the {3-1-1-1} Pattern to 64.

We’re nearly halfway through August and back-to-school is in full swing in many parts of Lottery Trend Country. Will the {3-1-1-1} Pattern make an encore appearance in Tuesday’s drawing?

Another Cool Saturday Night

Halfway through the month of July and we saw another cool down Saturday night. The biggest plays July 15, 2017 were an Australia Play in Lotto Texas and a new Specific Order in Powerball. There were no repeating Four-Number or Three-Number Combinations to speak of in Lotto Texas or Powerball, respectively.

Lotto Texas

Saturday’s winning numbers were 10, 13, 22, 36, 50, and 52.

With 198 appearances each, both the {2-2-2} Pattern and the 2 2 2 Specific Order have played in 13.5% of the 1464 Lotto Texas drawings. Prior to the July 15th drawing, the Australia Play was last seen in the July 5, 2017 drawing.

With winning numbers 9, 40, 63, 64, 66, and PB 17, the {3-1-1-1} made it 37th appearance.

This Pattern has played in 19.9% of the 186 Powerball drawings, and was last seen in the July 1, 2017 drawing.

Making its 17th appearance, the [1-1-3-1] General Order has played in 45.9% of the 37 drawings where the {3-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 9.14% of all Powerball drawings. This General Order appeared alongside the {3-1-1-1} Pattern in the July 1st drawing.

The 1 0 1 0 3 1 Specific Order made its debut, and has now played in 5.88% of the 17 drawings where the [1-1-3-1] General Order has appeared, and in 2.70% of the 37 drawings where the {3-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared. This Specific Order has played in 0.54% of all Powerball drawings.

Will next week see more Australia Plays? Will Pattern streaks be established?

The Streak is Gone

The {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern didn’t go for a sixth consecutive appearance in the July 7, 2017 drawing. If it had, then it would have tied the record set last summer. What a firework show that would have been! Nevertheless, Friday night’s drawing provided its own fireworks. Although a less common Pattern played, there was more bubbling underneath the surface.

The winning numbers were 2, 9, 11, 28, 60, and MB 10, bringing the total number of appearances of the {3-1-1-1} Pattern to 63.

Source: lotterytrend-megamillions.com.

This Pattern has played in 16.2% of the 388 Mega Millions drawings, and was last seen in the June 13, 2017 drawing.

Making its 22nd appearance, the [3-1-1-1] General Order has played in 34.9% of the 63 drawings where the {3-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 5.67% of all 388 drawings. Prior to Friday night, this General Order was last seen in the May 26, 2017 drawing.

Now with two appearances, the 3 1 0 1 0 1 Specific Order has played in approximately 9.09% of the 22 drawings where the [3-1-1-1] General Order has appeared, and in 3.17% of the 63 drawings where the {3-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared. This Specific Order has also played in 0.52% of all 388 drawings. The 3 1 0 1 0 1 Specific Order made its debut in the May 22, 2015 drawing.

Seeing a Specific Order that hadn’t played in over two years wasn’t the only big draw of the evening.

Friday night’s winning numbers share a similar spread with the May 23, 2014 drawing. That drawing’s winning numbers were 12, 14, 21, 38, 70, and MB 15, with a spread of 02:07:17:32. The spread from Friday night was 07:02:17:32. Note that while the difference between numbers was the same in both drawings, the order was different.

Another big draw was the repeat appearances of two Three-Number Combinations. The Combinations were

  • 2, 9, 11 (Debuted June 2, 2015)
  • 11, 60, MB 10 (Debuted March 17, 2017)
Boxed in together. Source: lotterytrend-megamillions.com.

Will the {3-1-1-1} Pattern make an encore appearance Tuesday? Will there be another similar spread next week?

Combination Cannon (and Corn)

Compared to this past Wednesday, Saturday night was an explosion of numbers. Lotto Texas started the month of July with the third consecutive appearance of the {3-2-1} Pattern and a repeating Four-Number Combination that hadn’t been seen in over fifteen years. The (usually) comparatively mellow Powerball saw the debut of a Specific Order and three repeating Three-Number Combinations.

Now, about the corn. What does that have to do with today’s post? That shall be answered in a moment, but first, let’s get the July 1st analysis out of the way.

Lotto Texas

The 759th appearance of the {3-2-1} Pattern was brought about by winning numbers 8, 29, 30, 36, 47, and 52.

This Pattern has played in 52% of the 1460 Lotto Texas drawings.

The 1 3 2 Specific Order made its 115th appearance, and has played in 15.2% of the 759 drawings where the {3-2-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 7.88% of all 1460 drawings. Prior to Saturday, this Specific Order was last seen in the June 7, 2017 drawing.

The Four-Number Combination of the evening was 29, 30, 36, and 47; it made its debut in the February 20, 2002 drawing.

Powerball

Powerball’s {3-1-1-1} Pattern made its 36th appearance with winning numbers 19, 42, 45, 48, 53, and PB 16.

Making its sixteenth appearance, the [1-1-3-1] General Order has played in 44.4% of the 36 drawings where the {3-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 8.79% of all 182 drawings. Like the {3-1-1-1} Pattern, this General Order previously played in the June 21st drawing.

The 0 1 1 3 0 1 Specific Order made its world debut, and has now played in 6.25% of the sixteen drawings where the [1-1-3-1] General Order has appeared. This Specific Order has also played in 2.78% of the 36 drawings where the {3-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 0.55% of all 182 drawings.

Powerball’s trio of repeating Three-Number Combinations were the following:

In contrast to the Lotto Texas repeating Four-Number Combination, these Combinations made their debuts very recently.

Now, the answer to today’s riddle: What does corn have to do with Lottery Binge? Well, the Fourth of July is only a few days away, and regardless of political leanings, people from coast to coast relish in fireworks, a day off from work, and barbecue. No Fourth of July cookout is complete without corn! Yes, corn! Corn on the cob roasted, or simply straight off the stalk, there’s nothing like the taste of organically grown sweet corn.

Sweet, sweet corn

The corn you see here was harvested yesterday afternoon out of my dad’s garden. No pesticides here! He let Mother Nature do the work, and she was mighty kind this year.

Getting back to the lottery side of things, will Lotto Texas continue its {3-2-1} Pattern streak? Will another Specific Order make its debut in Powerball?
