Mega Millions’ (Almost) Playback Special

We’re halfway through October and you know what means: An almost playback!

Huh? How do you have an almost playback? By having the Pattern and General Order share a date when they last appeared together, of course! At least, that’s what happened in the October 15, 2019 Mega Millions drawing. The fallout was a jackpot jump to $71 million.

This is *not* an encore. Source: lotterytrend-megamillions.com.

This Pattern has now played in 18.4% of the 506 Mega Millions drawings.

The [3-1-1-1] General Order, now with 35 appearances, has played in 37.6% of the 93 drawings where {3-1-1-1} was the winning Pattern. Once all 506 drawings have been taken into consideration, this General Order has played 37.6% of the time.

Prior to Tuesday night, both the {3-1-1-1} Pattern and the [3-1-1-1] General Order played October 8th, 2019.

A “full playback” didn’t come about for a good reason. Tuesday night saw the debut of the 3 0 1 0 1 1 Specific Order! With that said, this Specific Order has now played in 2.86% of the 35 drawings where the General Order was [3-1-1-1]. Additionally, it has played in 1.08% of the 93 drawings where {3-1-1-1} was the winning Pattern and in 0.20% of all 506 drawings.

Last year saw a monster jackpot unleashed around Halloween. Although the odds of it happening again this year are unlikely, will Mega Millions dare to dream big?

Sixty Million Degrees

“It’s sixty million degrees outside!”

This, or something like this, is the rallying whine of summer, soon to be a distant memory (for some of us). Even though the temperatures are set to drop, Mega Millions is operating on a different level. Nothing about a jackpot increase to $60 million says this lottery is ready to cool down!

General Lottery Analysis

October 8, 2019 saw the 92nd appearance of the {3-1-1-1} Pattern with winning numbers 5, 8, 10, 17, 48, and MB 23.

Things You Can Do with a Mega Millions

Although school is back in session and many outdoor pools are closed, there are still a few weeks of summer left, technically speaking. It’ll be a while yet before those crisp nights come rolling in and the autumn fashion comes out. Nothing wrong with enjoying a pumpkin spice latte in shorts, right?

Mega Millions reflected the weather; there was no cool down in the September 6, 2019 drawing. Now, it didn’t see another repeating Four-Number Combination, but there were repeating Three-Number Combinations. Five of them. The aftermath, of course, was a jackpot that climbed to $154 million.

The World According to Lotto Texas (and Powerball)

Lotto Texas dominated the lottery landscape August 28, 2019. The winless streak continued as the prize climbed to $18.25 million. What made this lottery stand out Wednesday night was that it had

  • An encore
  • A playback
  • A similar spread
  • A repeating Five-Number Combination
  • Seven repeating Four-Number Combinations

Seriously, it was like Lotto Texas had this checklist of “Awesome Ways to End the Month” and had a field day!

Powerball had its own brand of insanity. A Specific Order debut and a couple of  repeating Three-Number Combinations may seem like small potatoes, but that was enough to propel the grand prize to $70 million.

Lotto Texas and Powerball will have the joint honor of playing the last day of August. Will the lead-up to September be just as wild as Wednesday, or will the month end on a quieter note?

The Lottery Flip-Flop

We have a sleeper on our hands.

Lotto Texas, the “classiest” of the lotteries covered on Lottery Binge, has tended to its jackpot and watched it grow! After handing the players yet another thrashing, the prize climbed to $16.5 million. This has been a thing for Lotto Texas since before the summer season started. Slow and steady, indeed!

There was another side to the tale of August 17, 2019. Powerball, certainly no stranger to crazy-large jackpots, appears to have put them to the side. Now, they’ve been growing to healthy size, but they’ve been claimed before reaching the $200 million mark.  Long Island produced the sole winner of the $149 million up for grabs. Naturally, the prize reset itself to $40 million.

The 0 3 1 0 1 1 Specific Order was first seen in the November 3, 2018 drawing.

Three-Number Combination(s)

There were no repeating Three-Number Combinations Saturday night.

Powerball will continue its break from crazy-large jackpots, so any shenanigans there are out of the question. But we still have Lotto Texas to contend with. How high will its jackpot get? Will it climb once again come Wednesday or will it be claimed?

Playback Central

This weekend marks the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 mission, the very one that sent mankind to the Moon. Space exploration, whether by man or by probe, is a testament to human ingenuity and fuel for the unbounded nature of our imagination. It’s that “Can do” attitude that will keep us chugging along.

But now, we come back down to Earth. Mega Millions, ever fond of crazy-large jackpots and thwarting players everywhere, shot for the stars July 19th. No, it didn’t land on a strange new world, but it picked up a playback. Along the way, the jackpot got boosted up to $168 million.

Mega Millions has taken on a “Shake things up” approach this month, so a {3-1-1-1} Pattern encore isn’t completely out of the question. After all, we did see an Australia Play encore! Encore or no, we’ll have to see if the jackpot rises once again in Tuesday’s drawing or if it falls through the stratosphere.

Four Score and an Encore

No rest for Lotto Texas and Powerball! Still pumped up from this past Saturday, these lotteries joined forces and made sure this July 3rd was one to remember. As we’ll see shortly, momentum wasn’t the only thing that carried over. With no grand prize winners in either lottery, the jackpots rose to $9.75 million in Lotto Texas, and $165 million in Powerball.

The {3-2-1} Pattern is fond of three-peats, so that’s something to keep an eye out for Saturday. As for Powerball, that jackpot is starting to knock on Crazy Large’s door. Will that prize continue to rise or will someone claim the prize?

Making the Quiet Roll?

Remember the honor roll back when we were kids? Whether a source of inspiration, or the source of future bullying victims, schools had a way of posting the names of those who made high marks. If schools have honor rolls, then what do lotteries have when they don’t make a big splash?

In some ways, June 19th was much like this past Saturday. Things were quiet on the repeating Combination front and one Pattern didn’t want to leave the spotlight. With no grand prize winners in either Lotto Texas or Powerball, their respective jackpots rose to $8.25 million and $108 million.

Four-Number Combination(s)

The lack of a Pattern encore was one reason Lotto Texas made the “Quiet Roll”. The other was for lack of repeating Four-Number Combinations.

Powerball

General Lottery Analysis

Perhaps the biggest play of the evening was the {3-1-1-1} Pattern three-peat! Winning numbers 4, 18, 21, 26, 38, and PB 1 made the 80th appearance of this Pattern possible.

Three-Number Combination(s)

The {3-1-1-1} Pattern three-peat was all Powerball could muster. There wasn’t enough energy for a repeating Three-Number Combination.

These past couple of drawings have seen Lotto Texas and Powerball take a break from mad plays. If you’re one for Pattern streaks, Australia Plays, and whatnot, June isn’t over yet! Going into Saturday’s drawing, all that’s certain is the jackpots for the lotteries are higher than they were Wednesday night. Will the {3-1-1-1} Pattern aim for a Pattern streak?

Lotteries of Solitude

After the madness we saw this past Wednesday, Lotto Texas and Powerball earned a well-deserved rest. On June 15th, they said “No!” to wild plays and Pattern streaks. Save for a Pattern encore and prizes that respectively rose to $8 million and $92 million, Saturday night was one of the quietest we’ve had in a while.

Was Saturday night a prelude for how the rest of the month will be or is it the calm before the storm? There is another half of June left in play, after all!

Night of the Living “3”

June 12th, 2019 was taken over by the number 3! The little guy made himself at home in both Lotto Texas and Powerball, whether by showing up alone, as part of another number, or by other means. Means that were tied to a Combination, perhaps?

The invasion left both lotteries without a grand prize winner. Their respective jackpots rose to $7.75 million and $79 million.
