Wednesday Night Streak Smashers

It’s a fact of life in the lottery world that some Patterns don’t get as much play as others. Sometimes, when those uncommon Patterns play, they leave a big impact.

This past Wednesday night saw the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern streak come to an end in Powerball. Likewise, the {3-2-1} Pattern streak of Lotto Texas was over before it could even start. All that was left were jackpots that rose to $60 million and $6.5 million, respectively.

Could either the {3-1-1-1} of Powerball or the {5-1} of Lotto Texas do the unbelievable and make an encore Saturday night?

Kicking Off with {3-1-1-1}

The days are getting longer and even though the groundhog didn’t see his shadow, winter is not giving up so easily. Other things that don’t give up are the Kansas City Chiefs and Mega Millions Patterns like {3-1-1-1}. It may not have the command presence of the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern but when it plays, one best pay attention.

This {3-1-1-1} Pattern was the one that thwarted the players’ efforts this past Tuesday night. The side effect was a jackpot that climbed to $187 million.

General Lottery Analysis

The winning numbers for the February 4, 2020 drawing were 32, 48, 50, 51, 64, and MB 10, making this the 101st appearance of the {3-1-1-1} Pattern.

Will someone claim the prize in Mega Millions Friday night, or will it be knocking on $200 million?

The Great Scaleback

If you partook in Mega Millions last Friday and read our analysis, you’d agree that it was a scorcher! Much like the unseasonable warmth, the onslaught of repeating Three-Number Combinations (half of them thanks to a repeating Four-Number Combination) was relentless. This past Tuesday told a different story: Mega Millions scaled back. An even-tempered play sent the jackpot up to $103 million.

General Lottery Analysis

What happened this past Tuesday was the first of many Mega Millions scalebacks to come this year. Even though the number of Combinations was reduced, the jackpot is still high! How much more will it soar?

Mega Millions in “Party Hard, Rest Hard”

Another holiday season has come and gone. A collective groan erupts far and wide as it’s time to get back into the work/school routine. Instead of groaning, Mega Millions yawned.

The Christmas-New Year’s timeframe was a busy one for this lottery. Christmas Eve saw a whopping seven repeating Three-Number Combinations! Nothing like that happened this past Friday. The jackpot rose to $69 million and Mega Millions cocooned itself in a blanket as it took a well-earned rest.

General Lottery Analysis

Mega Millions is off to a quiet start to the year, but does that mean the lull will continue in the foreseeable future?

Mega Millions’ Silent-ish Night

Another period of rising jackpots has come to an end in Mega Millions. The Ultimate Christmas Present was won in Ohio. Even though only one could claim the coveted $372 million, Mega Millions stayed true to the Christmas spirit, gifting players in other states with at least $1 million. Naturally, the jackpot reset itself to $40 million.

Would you believe that Mega Millions did not employ a {2-2-1-1} Pattern encore or some other wild play?

General Lottery Analysis

Three-Number Combination(s)

Mega Millions took a break from repeating Three-Number Combinations.

The $372 million prize may have been won, but there are still a couple of weeks left in the year. There’s plenty of time for another Pattern streak!

The Persuasive Power of Combinations

A different trend has taken hold in the lottery world. Mega Millions has been following it for a while, and Lotto Texas and Powerball came into the fold this past Saturday night. We’ve come to expect Pattern streaks and other wild plays to send the jackpots higher. As we approach a new decade (depending on who you ask), the lotteries appear to be testing out a new strategy: embracing repeating Four- and Three-Number Combinations!

Why not? Bombarding the players with repeating Combinations is a subtle approach to boosting the jackpots’ worth. In fact, unboxing these Combinations was all that was needed to send Lotto Texas’s prize to $13 million and Powerball’s to $160 million.

(Order) in the Mega Millions Court

Admittedly cheesy title aside, there was a stirring in Mega Millions this past Tuesday. The jackpot soared once more, resting, for now, at $285 million. Pattern-wise, a {2-1-1-1-1} three-peat wasn’t meant to be. In its place was a different Pattern that was accompanied by a Specific Order debut.

General Lottery Analysis

The {3-1-1-1} Pattern was the one responsible for blocking the three-peat and has now played 97 times. The winning numbers for December 3, 2019 were 23, 43, 60, 63, 69, and MB 19.

208 Million Little Things

If you’re reading this from the U.S., then you know Thanksgiving is almost here! Whether you’re having a small dinner or a gigantic feast, there’s always something about holiday meals where you must remember so many little things.

There was nothing little about Mega Millions this past Tuesday! No big play was needed to send the jackpot over the $200 million line. Who wouldn’t want $208 million just before the holiday season really kicks off?

Will the Mega Millions jackpot stay above the $200 million line, or will it be brought back down Friday night?

Ce N’est Pas Une Playback (This is Not a Playback)

Friday nights were meant for football.  They were also meant for parties, relaxing with a good drink, and big plays for Mega Millions. Except, there weren’t any big plays November 8, 2019. By that, we mean no Pattern encore, no Australia Play, not even a playback. Sure, Mega Millions came close, but a playback wasn’t mean to be. If by “major play”, you thought we meant, “No one won and the prize got larger”, then you were right on the money (no pun intended)! The jackpot increased to $163 million.

General Lottery Analysis

Whether a playback is in Mega Millions’ immediate future is something that can’t be foretold. What we should direct our attention to is the jackpot. It’s not far from crazy-large territory. We’ll have to see if it crosses that $200 million threshold, and if it does, how much farther it will go…
