Valentine’s Day has come and gone on the calendar, but Mega Millions had other plans! The little bit of Valentine’s Day wasn’t the only thing we saw in the February 21, 2017 drawing. We saw not one, but two repeating Three-Number Combinations, one of which in fact has appeared twice before!

The {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern made its 139^th appearance, with winning numbers 9, 21, 30, 32, 75, MB 9.

This Pattern has now played in 39.8% of the 349 drawings thus far and was last seen exactly one week prior in the February 14, 2017 drawing.

The [1-2-1-1-1] General Order made its 40^th appearance, its first since the November 15, 2016 drawing. This General Order has played in 28.8% of the 139 drawings where the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 11.5% of all drawings.

The Specific Order of the evening was 1 2 1 0 1 1, making its ninth appearance. As of Tuesday’s drawing, this Specific Order has played in 22.5% of the 40 drawings where the [1-2-1-1-1] General Order appeared, 6.47% of the 139 drawings where the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern had appeared, and in 2.59% of all drawings. To see when the 1 2 1 0 1 1 Specific Order was last seen, we need to go back to the August 9, 2016.

And now for the biggest draw of the evening: the repeating Three-Number Combinations! The Combinations were

• 9, 21, 75 (Debuted October 9, 2015)
• 21, 30, MB 9 (Previously played September 29^th, 2015 and September 30, 2016)

With one week to go before Mardi Gras, Mega Millions had turned it up a notch. Will the momentum continue to build up, or will Friday night be a night of rest?

Ah, Valentine’s Day. Not only does it mark the halfway point in February, it’s a day of love and romance. It’s a day of makeups and breakups, a day full of chocolates, cards, candy, and…Mega Millions? Well, yes! This year, a Mega Millions drawing fell on this holiday. Grab that box of chocolates and take a gander at the analysis for the February 14, 2017 drawing. Leftover champagne drinking is optional.

Tuesday’s winning Pattern was the {2-1-1-1-1}, having made its 138^th appearance. The winning numbers were 7, 11, 33, 60, 68, and MB 15.

This Pattern has now played in 39.8% of the 347 Mega Millions drawings and remained the most commonly played Pattern. We last saw the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern exactly one week prior in the February 7, 2017 drawing.

Like the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern, the [2-1-1-1-1] General Order was also previously seen on February 7^th. Now with 36 appearances, this General Order has played in 26.1% of the 138 drawings where the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 10.4% of all drawings.

The 2 0 1 1 1 1 Specific Order made its eighth appearance, its first since the August 2, 2016 drawing. As of Tuesday, this Specific Order has played in approximately 22.2% of the 36 drawings where the [2-1-1-1-1] General Order has appeared, 5.80% of the 138 drawings where the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 2.31% of all drawings.

For those of you who are positively in love with repeating Three-Number Combinations, you’re in luck! The Three-Number Combination 11, 68, and MB 15 made its second appearance.

This Combination made its debut in the October 14, 2014 drawing.

As we march onward through the second half of February, will the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern make an encore, or will a rarely seen Pattern get a shot? Will there be a lull before a Mardi Gras explosion?

Who doesn’t love Friday? For most of us, it’s the last day before the weekend, and of course, another Mega Millions day. What made the January 24^th drawing one for the record books was that everything, yes, everything, either previously played or debuted on a Friday night!

For starters, the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern made an encore. The 135^th appearance was thanks to winning numbers 8, 42, 54, 63, 67, and MB 11.

This Pattern has now played in 39.6% of the 341 drawings. Recall that the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern previously played in this past Friday’s drawing.

Next, the [1-1-1-2-1] General Order made its 31^st appearance, its first since the Friday the 13^th drawing. This General Order has played in approximately 23% of the 135 drawings where the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern appeared, and in 9.09% of all drawings.

Like the [1-1-1-2-1] General Order, the 1 0 1 1 2 1 Specific Order was last seen in the Friday the 13^th drawing. Now with 12 appearances, this Specific Order has played in 38.7% of the 31 drawings where the [1-1-1-2-1] General Order has appeared, 8.89% of the 135 drawings where the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 3.52% of all drawings.

It’s not often that we see occurrences like the one from Tuesday. With roughly a week-and-a-half to go before Super Bowl LI, will Mega Millions bring on the weekend with a rough-and-tumble style, or will it take on a calmer demeanor?

If you were to ask a fellow blog follower, he or she would probably say the title of this post is somewhat ironic. In our coverage of the Friday the 13^th Mega Millions, we mentioned the irrelevancy of whether the date was unlucky or not. It just so happened that, when looking at our “Previously played” dates for the January 20, 2017 Mega Millions, the number “13” popped up frequently.

The {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern remained the most commonly seen Pattern, thanks to winning numbers 7, 9, 24, 41, 53, and MB 14.

With 134 appearances, this Pattern has played in 39.4% of the 340 Mega Millions drawings. To make things even more interesting, the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern previously played on…Friday the 13^th!

The General Order this time around was [2-1-1-1-1], and we last saw it in the December 23, 2016 drawing. Now with 34 appearances, this General Order has played in 25.4% of the 134 drawings where the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 10% of all drawings.

Next, the 2 1 1 1 0 1 Specific Order made its fifth appearance, its first since the September 13, 2016 drawing. This Specific Order has now played in 14.7% of the 34 drawings where the [2-1-1-1-1] General Order has appeared, and in 1.47% of all drawings.

• 9, 24, 41 (Debuted September 4, 2014)

Will the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern make an encore appearance on Tuesday night?

For those of you who don’t pay much attention to the calendar, Friday’s Mega Millions drawing happened to fall on the 13^th. Whether you believe Friday the 13^th to be unlucky or not, that didn’t prevent Mega Millions from knocking it out of the park.

We saw the {2-1-1-1-1} make an encore appearance Friday night. The 133^rd appearance of this Pattern was thanks to winning numbers 10, 44, 58, 74, 75, and MB 11.

Having now played in 39.3% of 338 drawings, the {2-1-1-1-1} retains its title as Most Commonly Played Mega Millions Pattern. Recall that this Pattern played in Tuesday’s drawing.

The [1-1-1-2-1] Specific Order made its 30^th appearance, its first since the October 14^th, 2016 drawing. As of Friday, this Specific Order has played in 22.6% of the 30 drawings where the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 8.88% of all drawings.

The 1 0 1 1 2 1 Specific Order made its 11^th appearance and has now played in approximately 36.67% of the 30 drawings where the [1-1-1-2-1] was the General Order of the evening. This Specific Order has also played in 8.27% of the 133 drawings where the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 3.25% of all drawings. Prior to Friday, the 1 0 1 1 2 1 Specific Order played in the August 16^th, 2016 drawing.

“What are you, crazy!?” you’re wondering. December’s over! Well, yes, it’s over on the calendar, but it didn’t go by the wayside in Tuesday night’s Mega Millions drawing. The January 10, 2017 drawing had many callbacks to December, regardless of the year.

Tuesday’s winning numbers were 11, 20, 40, 41, 59, and MB 15.

Now with 132 appearances, the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has played in 39.2% of the 337 Mega Millions drawings, and remains the most commonly seen Pattern. Prior to Tuesday, we last saw this Pattern in the December 23, 2016 drawing.

The [1-1-2-1-1] General Order made its 31^st appearance, its first since the December 6, 2016 drawing. This General Order has now appeared in 23.5% of the 132 drawings where the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 9.2% of all drawings.

Next in our lottery coverage is the 1 1 2 1 0 1 Specific Order. With ten appearances to date, this Specific Order has now appeared in 32.3% of the 31 drawings where the [1-1-2-1-1] General Order has appeared, 7.58% of the 132 drawings where the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 2.97% of all drawings. Unlike the Pattern and General Order of the evening, the 1 1 2 1 0 1 Specific Order was previously seen in the November 4, 2016 drawing.
