The Encore and Playback Fireworks Spectacular

Another Fourth of July has come and gone. Whether watching them from home or in a park, the holiday never seems to be complete without one thing: fireworks! Lotto Texas and Powerball put on their own fireworks show Wednesday night. In addition to rising jackpots – $9 million and $80 million, respectively – there was the display of a Pattern encore and a fine showing of a playback.

Lotto Texas

General Lottery Analysis

With winning numbers 1, 2, 10, 11, 31, and 51, the {4-1-1} Pattern made its 168th appearance.

Buried in these six numbers is a playback. Source: lotterytrend.com.

Given that there have been 1565 Lotto Texas drawings, this Pattern has played 10.7% of the time.

Now with 56 appearances, the 4 1 1 Specific Order has played in 33.3% of the 168 drawings where {4-1-1} was the winning Pattern. This Specific Order has also played in 3.58% of all 1565 drawings.

Prior to Wednesday night, both the {4-1-1} Pattern and the 4 1 1 Specific Order played on January 10th, 2018.

Four-Number Combination(s)

In addition to a playback, there was one repeating Four-Number Combination:

Powerball

General Lottery Analysis

Right off the heels of the June 30th drawing, the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern came back for an encore. This time, the winning numbers were 4, 7, 15, 41, 44, and PB 10.

The {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has now played 101 times, and with 287 Powerball drawings to date, this Pattern has played in 35.2% of them.

The [2-1-1-1-1] General Order also came back for an encore. With its 28th appearance, this General Order has now played in 27.7% of the 101 drawings where {2-1-1-1-1} was the winning Pattern. When looking at all 287 drawings, this General Order has played 9.76% of the time.

Now with six appearances, the 2 1 1 1 0 1 Specific Order has played in 21.4% of the 28 drawings where the General Order was [2-1-1-1-1]. This Specific Order has also played in 5.94% of the 101 drawings where {2-1-1-1-1} was the winning Pattern. Finally, when looking at all 287 drawings, this Specific Order has played 2.09% of the time. The 2 1 1 1 0 1 Specific Order previously played on March 7th, 2018.

Three-Number Combination(s)

Powerball saw one repeating Three-Number Combination in the form of 7, 15, and 41.

An Extreme Case of Encore-itis

For Mega Millions, July started the way June ended. Once more the jackpot climbed, now standing at a whopping $283 million. The July 3, 2018 drawing also saw the return of a Pattern that played very recently.

General Lottery Analysis

With its 163rd appearance, the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern not only made an encore but started yet another month! This time, the winning numbers were 13, 35, 45, 49, 68, and MB 23.

The {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern is full of surprises. Source: lotterytrend-megamillions.com.

Of the 372 Mega Millions drawings to date, this Pattern has played 43.8% of the time. The {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern wasn’t the only one making another appearance right after the June 29, 2018 drawing!

The [1-1-2-1-1] General Order caught the “encore” bug and made its 45th appearance. This General Order has now played in 27.6% of the 163 drawings where {2-1-1-1-1} was the winning Pattern and in 12.1% of all 372 drawings.

Contagions aren’t easily contained; the 1 0 1 2 1 1 Specific Order also made an encore. Now with twelve appearances, this Specific Order has played in 26.7% of the 45 drawings where the General Order was [1-1-2-1-1]. This Specific Order has also played in 7.36% of the 136 drawings where {2-1-1-1-1} was the winning Pattern. Finally, when taking all 372 drawings into account, the 1 0 1 2 1 1 Specific Order has played 3.23% of the time.

Three Number Combination(s)

The cherry on top was the appearance of two repeating Three-Number Combinations:

  • 13, 35, 68 (Debuted August 28, 2015)
  • 49, 68, MB 23 (Debuted June 29, 2018)
An added bonus. Source: lotterytrend-megamillions.com.

Mega Millions continues to outdo itself. If it hadn’t been for the first listed Combination, then we would have seen a complete June 29th takeover!

Now that July is in full swing, will the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern and company go for a “three-peat” Friday night?

Sucker Punch Combinations & A Pattern Encore

June ended with a bang. With no grand prize winners in either Lotto Texas or Powerball, the jackpots are now $8.25 million and $70 million, respectively. Other noteworthy events were the end of the (brief) {3-2-1} Pattern streak in Lotto Texas and possibly the start of one in Powerball.

Lotto Texas

General Lottery Analysis

Although the {3-2-1} Pattern didn’t see a “four-peat”, there was something else that might have rivaled it: an Australia Play! That is, the Pattern and the Specific Order were the same. Furthermore, the Specific Order is unique to said Pattern.

With winning numbers 5, 8, 29, 32, 40, and 48, both the {2-2-2} Pattern and the 2 2 2 Specific Order made their 218th appearance.

Given that there have been 1564 Lotto Texas drawings, the Australia Play has happened in 13.9% of them. An Australia Play last appeared on May 19th, 2018.

Four-Number Combination(s)

Along for the ride were two repeating Four-Number Combinations, one of which had played twice before!

  • 8, 32, 40, 48 (Debuted September 6th, 2017)
  • 5, 8, 32, 40 (Debuted April 7th, 2010, and previously played on July 11th, 2012)

Powerball

General Lottery Analysis

Lotto Texas may have had the lion’s share of the action, but Powerball had its own plans. The {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern made an encore appearance with winning numbers 3, 9, 20, 42, 61, and PB 24.

100 appearances later, it reigns among Powerball Patterns. Source: lotterytrend-powerball.com.

Not only was this an encore, this marked the 100th appearance of the Pattern. With that said, there have been 286 Powerball drawings to date, and this Pattern has played in roughly 35% of them. Recall that the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern previously played this past Wednesday.

The [2-1-1-1-1] General Order, with 27 appearances, has now played in 27% of the 100 drawings where {2-1-1-1-1} was the winning Pattern. This General Order has also played in 9.44% of all 286 drawings. We last saw the [2-1-1-1-1] General Order on June 2nd, 2018.

Now with eight appearances, the 2 1 1 0 1 1 Specific Order has played in 29.6% of the 27 drawings where the General Order was [2-1-1-1-1]. This Specific Order has also played in 8% of the 100 drawings where {2-1-1-1-1} was the winning Pattern, and in roughly 2.86% of all 286 drawings. Prior to Saturday night, the 2 1 1 0 1 1 Specific Order played on March 21st, 2018.

Three-Number Combination(s)

There were no repeating Three-Number Combinations this time.

For those of you reading from the U.S., Wednesday is the Fourth of July. Will Lotto Texas and Powerball go all-out with encores and crazy (repeating) Combination action or will another surprise be in store?

The {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern Ouroboros

The ouroboros, as defined by the Google dictionary, is “a circular symbol depicting a snake, or less commonly a dragon, swallowing its tail, as an emblem of wholeness or infinity.” It looks something like this:

Friday’s drawing. Source: Google Images (original site: https://tribu.co.uk/products/ouroboros-snake-sterling-silver-ring)

Mega Millions was like the ouroboros in the June 29, 2018 drawing. Although nothing mystical happened, and the jackpot climbed to $256 million, Pattern-wise, the month ended the way it started. This is much like the snake eating its own tail.

General Lottery Analysis

With winning numbers 2, 32, 47, 59, 68, and MB 23, the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern made its 162nd appearance.

Finishing what it started. Source: lotterytrend-megamillions.com.

Of the 371 Mega Millions drawings, this Pattern has played 43.7% of the time. Prior to Friday night, the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern played on June 1, 2018.

The [1-1-2-1-1] General Order made its 44th appearance and has now played in 27.2% of the 162 drawings where {2-1-1-1-1} was the winning Pattern. When taking all 371 drawings into account, this General Order has played 11.9% of the time. We last saw the [1-1-2-1-1] General Order in the May 15, 2018 drawing.

Now with eleven appearances, the 1 0 1 2 1 1 Specific Order has played in 25% of the 44 drawings where the General Order was [1-1-2-1-1]. This Specific Order has also played in 6.79% of the 162 drawings where {2-1-1-1-1} was the winning Pattern and in 2.96% of all 371 drawings. The 1 0 1 2 1 1 Specific Order previously played on April 17, 2018.

Three Number Combination(s)

There were no repeating Three-Number Combinations Friday night. The lack of repeating Three-Number Combinations is what happened the last time this Pattern appeared!

July is right around the corner. Will there be a pre-Fourth of July blowout, or will Mega Millions have other plans?

The One Where Dominant Patterns Dominate

Lotto Texas and Powerball operated on the same frequency June 27th. Not only did they both see their most dominant Patterns play, they saw a rise in their jackpots. The respective grand prizes are now $8 million and $60 million. And that’s not all! One of these Patterns made a consecutive appearance, and one lottery saw a playback. For the new readers, and for those who need a refresher, a playback happens when a Pattern, General Order (not applicable to Lotto Texas), and Specific Order played together on a previous date.

Lotto Texas

General Lottery Analysis

Fresh from the June 23rd drawing, the {3-2-1} Pattern went for the three-peat! The 816th appearance of this Pattern was thanks to winning numbers 8, 12, 17, 20, 26, and 47.

The {3-2-1} Pattern streak begins. Source: lotterytrend.com.

Given that there have been 1563 Lotto Texas drawings, this Pattern has played 52.2% of the time.

Turns out it wasn’t just the {3-2-1} Pattern that was previously seen in the last Lotto Texas drawing. The 3 2 1 Specific Order made an encore. Now with 148 appearances, this Specific Order has played in 18.1% of the 816 Lotto Texas drawings and in 9.64% of all 1563 drawings.

Four-Number Combination(s)

The playback phenomenon propped up the {3-2-1} Pattern this time. There were no repeating Four-Number Combinations.

Powerball

General Lottery Analysis

Although it looked like Lotto Texas packed the most “punch” Wednesday night, Powerball was no slouch! With winning numbers 7, 28, 37, 62, 63, and PB 15, the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern made its 99th appearance.

Of the 285 Powerball drawings, this Pattern has played 34.7% of the time, and was last seen on June 13, 2018.

The [1-1-1-2-1] General Order made its 29th appearance and has played in 29.3% of the 99 drawings where {2-1-1-1-1} was the winning Pattern. This General Order has also played in 10.2% of all 285 drawings. The [1-1-1-2-1] General Order accompanied the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern in the earlier-mentioned June 13th drawing.

Now with nine appearances, the 1 1 1 0 2 1 Specific Order has played in 31% of the 29 drawings where the General Order was [1-1-1-2-1]. This Specific Order has also played in 9.09% of the 99 drawings where {2-1-1-1-1} was the winning Pattern and in 3.16% of all 285 drawings. Prior to Wednesday night, the 1 1 1 0 2 1 Specific Order previously played on January 13, 2018. If only there had been a playback here, too!

Three-Number Combination(s)

Amidst the madness, there was one repeating Three-Number Combination:

Lotto Texas and Powerball have the honor of closing out June. Will Saturday night see the continuation of Lotto Texas’s Pattern streak, and can Powerball try to establish one?

Fanfare for the Common Pattern

After an encounter with an uncommon Pattern this past Saturday, June 13th saw Lotto Texas veer back onto a more “normal” path. Powerball, on the other hand, saw any hopes for a “three-peat” be dashed.

One thing that appeared “meant to be” after Wednesday night was the build-up for a potential blowout. With no grand prize winners for either lottery, the jackpots are now $7 million for Lotto Texas, and $137 million for Powerball. Another was the appearance of each lottery’s most commonly seen Pattern.

Lotto Texas

General Lottery Analysis

With winning numbers 5, 6, 11, 26, 32, and 53, the {3-2-1} Pattern made its 813th appearance.

Given that there have been 1559 Lotto Texas drawings, this Pattern has played 52.1% of the time. This Pattern was last seen on June 6, 2018. Interestingly, that appearance was part of a {3-2-1} Pattern streak that carried over from the end of May.

Like the {3-2-1} Pattern, the 3 2 1 Specific Order had also previously played in the earlier-mentioned June 6th drawing. Now with 146 appearances, this Specific Order has played in 18% of the 813 drawings where {3-2-1} was the winning Pattern. This Specific Order has also played in 9.36% of all 1559 drawings.

Four-Number Combination(s)

Even with its most commonly seen Pattern, Lotto Texas went big with the {3-2-1} Pattern and the 3 2 1 Specific Order playing together again. It went even bigger with two repeating Four-Number Combinations!

  • 5, 6, 26, 53 (Debuted July 3, 2013)
  • 11, 26, 32, 53 (Debuted February 25, 2009)

Out of the 281 Powerball drawings, this Pattern has played in 34.9% of them, and was last seen on June 2, 2018.

The [1-1-1-2-1] General Order made its 28th appearance Wednesday night. With that said, this General Order has played in 28.6% of the 98 drawings where {2-1-1-1-1} was the winning Pattern. This General Order has also played in 9.96% of all 281 drawings. We last saw the [1-1-1-2-1] General Order on May 26, 2018.

Now with six appearances, the 1 1 1 2 0 1 Specific Order has played in 21.4% of the 28 drawings where the General Order was [1-1-1-2-1]. This Specific Order had played alongside the [1-1-1-2-1] General Order in the earlier-mentioned May 26th drawing. Continuing with the analysis, the 1 1 1 2 0 1 Specific Order has also now played in 6.12% of the 98 drawings where {2-1-1-1-1} was the winning Pattern and in 2.14% of all 281 drawings.

Three-Number Combination(s)

Playing an even more common Pattern than {2-2-1-1} was enough excitement for Powerball. There were no repeating Three-Number Combinations this time.

Will either the {3-2-1} Pattern or the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern see a repeat in Saturday’s drawing?

The {3-2-1} Pattern Saga Continues

One sequel isn’t enough these days! It’s common for there to be one movie after the original story, but nowadays, Part III or higher shows up. There have even been instances where the final part of a series is split into two movies. None of that “part splitting” is present in lotteries or lottery analysis, that’s for sure, but Pattern streaks are a popular go-to.

The days are getting hotter in Houston, and Lotto Texas and Powerball followed suit on June 2nd.  Both lotteries saw their most commonly seen Patterns and with no grand prize winners, their respective jackpots now stand at $6.25 million and $87 million.

Given that there have been 1556 Lotto Texas drawings, this Pattern has played in 52.1% of them. Recall that the {3-2-1} Pattern was recently seen in this past Wednesday’s drawing and before then, on May 26, 2018.

Now with 146 appearances, the 1 2 3 Specific Order has played in 18% of the 811 drawings where {3-2-1} was the winning Pattern and in 9.38% of all 1556 drawings. Prior to Saturday night, we last saw this Specific Order on March 17, 2018.

Unlike the last time the {3-2-1} Pattern appeared, this instance was not a playback, and there was one more repeating Four-Number Combination. You could say that this {3-2-1} Pattern sequel was different enough to prevent a rehash.

Powerball

Now with six appearances, the 0 2 1 1 1 1 Specific Order has played in 23.1% of the 26 drawings where [2-1-1-1-1] was the General Order. This Specific Order has played in 6.19% of the 97 drawings where {3-2-1} was the winning Pattern and in 2.16% of all 278 drawings. Will either the {3-2-1} Pattern or {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern show up again in Wednesday’s drawing? Will there be more repeating Three and Four-Number Combinations?

It’s *Just* the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern, Right?

June 1st has come and gone, and Mega Millions had the “honor” of starting the month. With the jackpot now standing at $110 million, could this be a buildup to an insanely large one later this summer? Time will tell.

Now, the title of today’s post has a mild spoiler. Yes, the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern played, but “So what?” you wonder. Well, it is the most commonly seen Mega Millions Pattern by a good margin. That, and when this Pattern plays, there’s usually something more behind it.

General Lottery Analysis

The 161st appearance of the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern featured winning numbers 5, 24, 52, 62, 66, and MB 17.

This Pattern has now played in 44.4% of the 363 Mega Millions drawings.

Moving onto the General Order, the [1-1-1-2-1] General Order made its 38th appearance. This General Order has now played in 23.6% of the 161 drawings where {2-1-1-1-1} was the winning Pattern and in 10.5% of all 363 drawings.

Now with three appearances, the 1 1 0 1 2 1 Specific Order has played in 7.89% of the 38 drawings where the General Order was [1-1-1-2-1]. This Specific Order has also played in 1.86% of the 161 drawings where {2-1-1-1-1} was the winning Pattern and in 0.83% of all 363 drawings.

Summer is a time of blockbusters, competition shows, and whatnot, but there’s another thing that it’s famous for, or was. For all you older readers out there, remember when all the TV shows had aired their last episodes of the season (or ever), and there was nothing but repeats? Some things repeat, or at least rhyme. Earlier in the week, Mega Millions had a playback with a different Pattern-General Order-Specific Order group. There was another, this time with the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern, the [1-1-1-2-1] General Order, and the 1 1 0 1 2 1 Specific Order. These three were last seen a couple of weeks ago in the May 18, 2018 drawing.

Three Number Combination(s)

Amidst all the excitement of yet another playback, there were no repeating Three-Number Combinations.

Will the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern make an encore, or better yet, will a playback occur in Tuesday’s drawing?

Playing it “Safe” with the Most Common Patterns

Memorial Day weekend is in full swing.

The NBA Playoffs are heating up (Both Eastern and Western Conferences are going to Game 7!)

Things would’ve heated up even more the night of May 26th if either Lotto Texas or Powerball saw a jackpot winner. The jackpots now stand at $5.75 million and $60 million, respectively. But, the night stayed on the “Hot, but not blazing hot”, side. Both lotteries saw their most common Patterns. For those of you out there who love repeating Four-Number and Three-Number Combinations, the night offered up a treat or two.

Will either the {2-1-1-1-1} or {3-2-1} Pattern end the month with a Pattern encore?

The Month of the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern

The {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern is one that does not step aside easily! May isn’t over, and summer hasn’t officially started yet, but that didn’t stop the Pattern from achieving blockbuster returns, even if there was no winner (jackpot now at $60 million). With the May 18, 2018 drawing, it has now played four times in a row. Looking back on the month so far, there has been only one drawing where this Pattern didn’t appear.
