“Un-4-2-itous!”

We’ve hit a snag at Lottery Trend headquarters. The computer we use to build our websites BSODed on us, thanks to a wonky Windows update. No updated sites mean no pictures. Hopefully, it’ll be up and running soon and I can grab the pictures then. Well, as they say, the show must go on!

Update 10/23/19: There are now pictures! Keep scrolling to see them.

There was nothing wonky about either Lotto Texas or Powerball this past Saturday. The lotteries kept players on their toes, and away from the grand prizes, once again. Lotto Texas took the path of an uncommon Pattern and boosted the jackpot to $6.75 million. Powerball played its most common Pattern and sent its grand prize to $120 million.

The paths may have been different, but the end result was the same: higher jackpots! Will they continue to rise next week?

Of Lotteries and Their Need for Attention

Ah, Lotto Texas. This lottery has a reputation for being the calm and collected one. Prizes aren’t nearly as large as the ones for Powerball or Mega Millions, but they’re certainly nothing to turn your nose up at! Earlier this year, Lotto Texas had a nearly five-month long streak where the prize climbed to nearly $24 million.

The October 12, 2019 drawing showed signs that this lottery isn’t so above it all in the attention seeking department. A three-peat bumped the jackpot up to $6.25 million. Meanwhile, Powerball rose quietly to $100 million.

Mega Millions’ Friday Night Escape

The thermometer readings went down and Mega Millions followed suit with its own cool down. The October 11th, 2019 drawing is the quietest we’ve seen in a while. It during this period of “solitude” that the grand prize shipped from the players’ grasp. Naturally, the jackpot rose to $65 million.

General Lottery Analysis

With winning numbers 14, 22, 30, 37, 60, and MB 8, the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern made its 225th appearance.

Three-Number Combination(s)

To preserve the theme of cooling off, there were no repeating Three-Number Combinations.

Things may be cooler lottery-wise but that doesn’t mean it’ll stay that way. The {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern did play after all, and that Pattern is known for encores. We’ll have to wait and see if that encore comes through Tuesday night or if Mega Millions has other plans.

The First Week Streak

A Pattern streak was confirmed in Mega Millions! The October 4, 2019 drawing saw the fourth consecutive appearance of the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern. Friday’s streak kept {2-1-1-1-1} the most commonly played Mega Millions Pattern and grew the pot. With no one able to pick all six numbers, the prize increased to $55 million.

General Lottery Analysis

The October Slide

It’s that time of year again! The days are getting shorter and (hopefully) cooler, pumpkin spice lattes aren’t so awkward, and the kids (and kids at heart) are making plans for Halloween.

It’s time for Inktober!

Wait a minute! Isn’t this a lottery blog? Well, yeah, but let me do something shameless for a moment. First, some context.

Inktober is when artists from around the world post drawings done in ink on their websites or social media. There’s a prompt (link) but you can draw your own thing. You can draw every day or every other day, whatever’s comfortable for you.  From hobbyists to professionals, anyone can post, all in the name of sharing, improving, and good fun.

I, uh, ahem, drew something for the occasion. The first day’s theme was “Ring”.

If you follow on Twitter, you didn’t see the whole thing.

I’m not a professional by any means, but boy does drawing take a load off! If there’s anything I learned from trying to post to Twitter yesterday, it’s this:

  1. Don’t post a few minutes before midnight
  2. The crop tool is not my friend (draw landscape?)
  3. Instagram would be probably be better. I’ll keep y’all posted on when that becomes available.

Today’s theme is “Mindless” but after a long workday, I’m (mostly) out of mind.

(This concludes the shameless plug. We now return you to your regularly scheduled blog post.)

Mega Millions kicked off the October lottery rush with a Pattern three-peat. The first of the month didn’t bring any grand prize winners. This caused the jackpot to climb to $50 million.

General Lottery Analysis

The {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern three-peat was made possible by 10, 17, 39, 42, 59, and MB 3. This Pattern has now played 223 times.

September Encore Finale: Mega Millions Edition

September has come and gone for Mega Millions. A milestone had been achieved, a massive jackpot had been won, and the month didn’t end with a Pattern streak. But, the night of September 27th, 2019 was anything but a snooze. Even though there was no streak, there was an encore, and that pushed the jackpot to $45 million.

General Lottery Analysis

The {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern encore was made possible by 12, 20, 31, 43, 45, and MB 20. This Pattern has now played 222 times.

Mega Millions will continue to recuperate as we head into October. Right now, a monster jackpot doesn’t seem likely but it’s early yet. We had a {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern encore, after all. Who’s to say that we won’t start the month with a three-peat?

500 Things to Do on a Tuesday

September 24, 2019 was a milestone for Mega Millions. The first drawing of the autumn season was not only the 500th drawing, somebody won! The September Streaks

No, it’s not a new dance and it’s not a new illness! It was Lotto Texas and Powerball’s turn to say goodbye to summer September 21, 2019. They both bid farewell with Pattern streaks, and with their most commonly seen Patterns, no less! Powerball got “de-powered” and had its jackpot reset to $40 million. There appeared to be no sign of Lotto Texas stepping down as once again, there were no grand prize winners. The aftermath was a jackpot that ascended to $23.75 million.

Will the Pattern streaks and Lotto Texas’s jackpot high continue through the end of September?

How Much Is a Pattern Streak Worth?

A lot, apparently.

Lotto Texas continued to enjoy its jackpot high, all thanks to a Pattern three-peat! The aftermath was a jackpot that climbed to $23 million.

Although there was no Pattern streak for Powerball (yet?), there was an encore. And, like Lotto Texas, it escaped the grasp of the players once again. This prize rose to a robust $80 million.
