The Kick is In

After the March 30, 2018 Mega Millions drawing, the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern streak is no more. Never fret, streak lovers! Pattern streaks are bound to show up again this year. What caused the upset? Why, none other than the Australia Play of course! Not only did it kick the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern out of its streak, it made one player in New Jersey $521 million richer.

The eighth-ever Mega Millions Australia Play was thanks to winning numbers 11, 28, 31, 48, 59, and MB 1.

Given that there have been 345 Mega Millions drawings, that means the {1-1-1-1-1-1} Pattern, [1-1-1-1-1-1] General Order, and the 1 1 1 1 1 1 Specific Order have all played 2.32% of the time. We last saw an Australia Play in the September 19, 2017 drawing.

Three Number Combination(s)

Although an Australia Play came bounding across the numbers terrain, there were no repeating Three-Number Combinations.

Instead of going out like a lamb, Mega Millions was more like a roaring sheep. We end March’s Mega Millions coverage with a demolished Pattern streak, and an Australia Play that went solo. Makes for a short post, we’ll admit.

Will April start with an Australia Play encore?

Under a Pattern Spell

A spell had been cast upon the lotteries Saturday night. Lotto Texas found itself in the grip of a Pattern streak. Powerball was under the control of the ultimate playback. And that wasn’t all that occurred on February 17th.

Lotto Texas

General Lottery Analysis

For the fourth time in a row, the {3-2-1} Pattern made an appearance. The 794th appearance was marked by winning numbers 10, 11, 13, 22, 26, and 46.

With 1526 Lotto Texas drawings to date, this Pattern has played 52% of the time.

The 3 2 1 Specific Order, now with 139 appearances, has played in 17.5% of the 794 drawings where {3-2-1} was the winning Pattern. This Specific Order has also played in 9.11% of all 1526 drawings. Prior to Saturday night, this Specific Order was seen exactly one week prior in the February 10th, 2018 drawing.

Will the {3-2-1} Pattern go on to make a fifth appearance? Will Powerball’s Australia Play be bold enough to go for the encore?

September 19, 2017 was the penultimate Mega Millions drawing of the summer. How interesting that Tuesday night’s drawing featured an Australia Play! Was it because it hadn’t played in six months, or was it because in Australia, spring is right around the corner?

With winning numbers 9, 28, 31, 50, 61, and MB 10, the {1-1-1-1-1-1} Pattern made its 14th appearance.

The thing about an Australia Play in Mega Millions is that both the [1-1-1-1-1-1] General Order and the 1 1 1 1 1 1 Specific Order also made their 14th appearance. Given that there have been 409 Mega Millions drawings to date, the Australia Play has played 3.42% of the time. We last saw an Australia Play in the March 7, 2017 drawing.

Mega Millions says goodbye to summer in Lottery Trend Country this Friday. Will there be a big shakeup, or will the evening be a quiet one?

Pre-Labor Day 4-1-1

Lotto Texas and Powerball kicked off September, and Labor Day weekend, with some not-commonly-seen Patterns. To make things even more interesting, one of these lotteries saw an Australia Play the night of September 2nd. In fact, it hadn’t seen one in nearly six months! Can you guess which one?

Lotto Texas

Making its 161st appearance, the {4-1-1} Pattern has now played in 10.9% of the 1478 Lotto Texas drawings. The winning numbers were 2, 10, 14, 15, 31, and 38.

Prior to Saturday night, we last saw this Pattern in the July 8, 2017 drawing.

Now with 51 appearances, the 4 1 1 Specific Order has played in 31.7% of the 161 drawings where the {4-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 3.45% of all 1478 drawings. This Specific Order previously played in the March 29, 2017 drawing.

There were two repeating Four-Number Combinations:

  • 2, 15, 31, 38 (Debuted March 17, 2007)
  • 2, 14, 31, 38 (Debuted August 31, 2016)

Powerball

By process of elimination, ‘twas Powerball that saw the Australia Play. This was fitting, as Saturday night had the 200th drawing with number balls 1 through 69, and Powerballs 1- 26. With winning numbers 6, 21, 41, 52, 62, and PB 26, this was the 17th time that the {1-1-1-1-1-1} Pattern appeared.

This also meant the 17th appearance of the [1-1-1-1-1-1] General Order and the 1 1 1 1 1 1 Specific Order. All three have now played in 8.5% of the 200 Powerball drawings, and were last seen in the March 11, 2017 drawing.

As momentous as it was to see an Australia Play, there were no repeating Three-Number Combinations.

Will either the {4-1-1} or {1-1-1-1-1-1} Patterns make an encore appearance in next Wednesday’s drawing? Will other rare Patterns get a spot in the limelight?

Powerball Gets It Too!

Hello, Lottery fans! This is guest blogger, Romulun Harris reporting on your latest LotteryTrend events! As the holiday of green and gold gets nearer, the event that happened with Megamillions on March 7, 2017 happened with Powerball: an Australian play! Now for the report.

Lotto Texas

Last night on March 11, 2017, the winning numbers for Lotto Texas were 5, 6, 24, 28, 29, and 37.

The {3-2-1} Pattern made its 741st appearance and has played in 51.89% of all 1428 drawings. It last played on March 1, 2017.

The 2 3 1 Specific Order made its 123rd appearance and has played in approximately 16.6% of all 741 drawings associated with the {3-2-1} Pattern and in 8.61% of all drawings. The 2 3 1 Specific Order last played on December 21, 2016.

The Four-Number Combination that repeated comprised the numbers 5, 6, 28, and 37, which last played on July 15, 2015.

Powerball

And now, for the main event! Last night on March 11, 2017, the winning numbers for Powerball were 1, 26, 41, 50, 57, AND PB 11.

As mentioned earlier, Powerball experienced an Australian play.  The {1-1-1-1-1-1} Pattern, [1-1-1-1-1-1] General Order, and 1 1 1 1 1 1 Specific Order all made their 16th occurrence. Plus, the {1-1-1-1-1-1} Pattern, [1-1-1-1-1-1] General Order, and 1 1 1 1 1 1 Specific Order have appeared in approximately 10.67% of all 150 drawings. February 8th, 2017 was the last time they played.

There were no repeats in Three Number Combinations.

Well, looks like surprising things are happening with St. Patrick’s Day around the corner. What surprise awaits us next? Find out next week!

Aussie, Aussie, Aussie!

March is kicking it into high gear. The seasons are a-changing and St. Patrick’s Day is fast approaching. To commemorate the occasion, the March 7, 2017 drawing gifted us with an Australia Play! There were no repeating Three-Number Combinations, so this post is going to be a short one.

Tuesday’s winning numbers were 3, 30, 45, 53, 68, and MB 11.

Winning Mega Millions numbers.

With this Australia Play, the {1-1-1-1-1-1} Pattern, and the [1-1-1-1-1-1] General Order, and the 1 1 1 1 1 1 Specific Order made their thirteenth appearance! Given that there have been 353 drawings, this Australia Play has played in 3.68% of all Mega Millions drawings. What makes this one a doozy is that it was last seen in last year’s April 19th drawing.

Things appear to have quieted down just a wee bit, but the month is still young. Is this a lull before the green tide? Will Friday’s drawing see not only another rare Pattern, but a volley of repeating Three-Number Combinations?

No Hump Here

Ah, Wednesday, that one day where everyone thinks, “If I can get over the hump, the rest of the week’ll be easy.” Yes, happy hours are the standard way of celebrating that mid-week milestone. Another way to celebrate, of course, is to play the lottery. Lotto Texas and Powerball didn’t lose any momentum after the Super Bowl. If the Patterns that played on February 8, 2017 were anything to go by, they gained momentum!

Lotto Texas

The {4-2} Pattern made an encore. Wednesday’s winning numbers were 10, 15, 47, 49, 51 and 52, marking the 159th appearance of the {4-2} Pattern.

This Pattern has now appeared in 11.2% of the 1419 drawings to date and previously played in the February 4, 2017 drawing.

The Specific Order of the evening was 2 0 4, which was last seen in the October 8, 2016 drawing. As of Wednesday, this Specific Order has played 20 times, meaning it has played in 12.6% of the 159 drawings where the {4-2} Pattern has appeared, and in 1.41% of all drawings.

Lotto Texas also gifted us with a repeat appearance of two Four-Number Combinations:

  • 10, 47, 49, and 52, which debuted September 1, 2007 and
  • 15, 47, 51, and 52, which debuted December 3, 2016.

It’s not often that we see a Four-Number Combination repeat a short while after its debut.

Powerball

Powerball saw the 15th appearance of the Australia Play.  The winning numbers 14, 20, 42, 49, 66, and PB 5 followed the {1-1-1-1-1-1} Pattern.

Of course, when the {1-1-1-1-1-1} Pattern appears, the [1-1-1-1-1-1] General Order and the 1 1 1 1 1 1 Specific Order make their appearance too. All three have played in 10.6% of the 141 Powerball drawings to date, and were last seen a few weeks ago in the January 28, 2017 drawing.

This Australia Play also spawned a repeat of the Three-Number Combination 14, 66, and PB 5, which debuted on November 14, 2015.

Will Lotto Texas and Powerball keep up the momentum, or will they simmer down on Saturday night?

Australia Play Fever

Looks like something is starting to go around in lottery world! In our Wednesday coverage, Lotto Texas saw an Australia Play. That is, the Pattern, General Order, and Specific Order matched. Although there wasn’t an encore in Lotto Texas (how awesome would that have been?), Powerball got the bug.

Lotto Texas

Our coverage of the January 28th Lotto Texas drawing begins with the 737th appearance of the {3-2-1} Pattern. The winning numbers this time were 5, 7, 30, 48, 51, and 52.

This Pattern has played in approximately 52% of the 1416 drawings thus far, and was last seen in the January 11, 2017 drawing. Note that the {3-2-1} Pattern is far and away the most commonly seen Pattern in Lotto Texas.

The 2 1 3 Specific Order made its 110th appearance, its first since the January 4, 2017 drawing. This Specific Order has played in 14.9% of the 737 drawings where the {3-2-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 7.77% of all drawings.

There were no repeating Four-Number Combinations in Lotto Texas this time around.

Powerball

Saturday night’s fireworks were primarily from the Powerball camp. The Australia Play made its 14th appearance, thanks to winning numbers 12, 20, 39, 49, 69, and PB 17.

These numbers follow the {1-1-1-1-1-1} Pattern, and has now played in 14 of the 138 Powerball drawings. Given said Pattern, it follows that the [1-1-1-1-1-1] General Order and the 1 1 1 1 1 1 Specific Order have also appeared 14 times. All of them have played in 10.1% of all the drawings. The last time we saw an Australia Play in Powerball was in the December 10, 2016 drawing.

Not only did we see an Australia Play, we also saw a repeating Three-Number Combination in the form of 12, 20, and PB 17.

This Combination made its debut a little over a year ago, in the November 4, 2015 drawing.

Will either Lotto Texas or Powerball see rarely-played Patterns in the week ahead? Will the Australia Play make an encore?

And the Gifting Continues

What a week! Wednesday’s drawing had an Australia Play and repeating Three-Number Combinations in Lotto Texas and Powerball, respectively. The gift explosion continued Saturday in more ways than one.

Lotto Texas

The December 10, 2016 drawing was the 731st appearance of the {3-2-1} Pattern. The occasion was marked by winning numbers 1, 9, 14, 26, 37, and 46.

As of Saturday, this Pattern has appeared in 52.1% of the 1402 Lotto Texas drawings to date. We previously saw the {3-2-1} Pattern last weekend in the December 3, 2016 drawing.

The 3 1 2 Specific Order made its 130th appearance, its first since the October 5, 2016 drawing. This Specific Order has played in 17.8% of the 731 drawings where {3-2-1} was the winning Pattern, and in 9.27% of all drawings.

Our Lotto Texas coverage ends with two repeating Four-Number Combinations:

  • 1, 9, 37, and 46, which debuted on July 4, 2012 and
  • 1, 14, 26, and 46, which debuted November 4, 2015

Powerball

Remember in our coverage of Wednesday’s drawings that Lotto Texas saw an Australia Play? Powerball got in on the action with the appearance of the {1-1-1-1-1-1} Pattern. The winning numbers were 12, 21, 32, 44, 66, and PB 15.

With 13 appearances, the {1-1-1-1-1-1} Pattern has played in 10.5% of 124 Powerball drawings to date. As is the nature of the Australia Play, these statistics also apply to the [1-1-1-1-1-1] General Order and the 1 1 1 1 1 1 Specific Order. Powerball last saw an Australia Play in the November 2, 2016 drawing.

As parents (and teachers) brace for the upcoming Christmas break, will we see an unprecedented Australia Play streak? Will either Lotto Texas or Powerball see a similar spread?

Big League Plays

Chicago beating Cleveland wasn’t the only thing that happened on November 2nd! As the Cubs and the Indians went head-to-head in a nail-biter that will be talked about for years to come, Lotto Texas saw a Four-Number Combination that debuted last decade. The Powerball Pattern Tango was put on hold once again—but things heated up with an Australia Play!

Here is the rundown for Lotto Texas and Powerball on what was truly a historic night.

Lotto Texas

The {3-2-1} remains the most commonly seen Pattern, with Wednesday’s drawing marking its 724th appearance. The winning numbers were 3, 4, 29, 31, 33, and 50.

Winning Texas Lotto numbers. From lotterytrend.com.

The {3-2-1} Pattern has played in 52% of the 1391 drawings that Lotto Texas has had so far. We last saw this Pattern last week in the October 26th drawing.

The 2 3 1 Specific Order made its 119th appearance, its first since the September 7th, 2016 drawing. Out of the 724 drawings in which the {3-2-1} has appeared, the 2 3 1 Specific Order has played 16.4% of the time. This becomes 8.55% when we look at all 1391 drawings.

The Four-Number Combination 3, 4, 31, 50 made its second appearance. To see when this Combination debuted, we need to go back to January 30th, 2008.

Powerball

The {1-1-1-1-1-1} Pattern made its twelfth appearance Wednesday, thanks to winning numbers 13, 18, 37, 54, 61 and PB 5.

Given that there have been 113 drawings, the {1-1-1-1-1-1} Pattern has played 10.6% of the time. The thing about Australia Plays in Powerball (and Mega Millions) is that not only is the Pattern {1-1-1-1-1-1}, it follows that the General Order is [1-1-1-1-1-1] and the Specific Order is 1 1 1 1 1 1. Just like the {1-1-1-1-1-1} Pattern, these have also played 10.6% of the time. We last saw the Australia Play in the October 19th, 2016 drawing.

Will Lotto Texas get in on the Australia Play action, or will another rarely-seen Pattern play? Will there be a definite Pattern that takes the title of Most Commonly Seen Pattern in Powerball?
