A Change-Up in the Pattern

In the last post, the $90 million question was “Will the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern see a ‘four-peat’”? For those of you who were looking forward to seeing the “four-peat” in the June 9th drawing, the answer was a big NO. However, there were a couple of repeating Three-Number Combinations. Friday night’s drawing also saw the appearance of a Pattern that hadn’t been played in a while. Question is, which Pattern was it?

It turned out that the {2-2-1-1} Pattern was the Pattern of the evening. The winning numbers were 3, 16, 28, 33, 37, and MB 9.

Now with 114 appearances, this Pattern has played in 30% of the 380 Mega Millions drawings and was last seen in the May 2,2017 drawing a little over a month ago.

Making its 33rd appearance, the [1-2-2-1] General Order has played in 28.9% of the 114 drawings where the {2-2-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 8.68% of all drawings. Prior to Friday night, this General Order was last seen in the February 17, 2017 drawing.

The 1 2 2 0 0 1 Specific Order made its seventh appearance, and has now played in 21.2% of the 33 drawings where the [1-2-2-1] General Order has appeared. This Specific Order has also played in 6.14% of the 114 drawings where the {2-2-1-1} drawing has appeared, and in 1.84% of all 380 drawings. The 1 2 2 0 0 1 Specific Order previously played in the December 27, 2016 drawing.

Will the {2-2-1-1} Pattern make an encore in Tuesday’s drawing?

Stumbling Upon a Three-Peat and (Repeating) Combinations

June 7th was a busy night for both Lotto Texas and Powerball. Lotto Texas saw a trio of Four-Number Combinations and Powerball saw one repeating Three-Number Combination. Right off the heels of Tuesday’s Mega Millions drawing, the three-peat bug had spread. The question now is, which lottery saw a Pattern three-peat?

Lotto Texas

As it turns out, Lotto Texas saw a three-peat of the {3-2-1} Pattern. The winning numbers this time around were 16, 25, 26, 33, 37, and 43.

Source: lotterytrend.com.

This Pattern has now made 754 appearances, and has played in 51.9% of the 1453 Lotto Texas drawings. Recall that the {3-2-1} Pattern was last seen in the June 3, 2017 drawing and earlier still on May 31st.

Making its 114th appearance, the 1 3 2 Specific Order has played in 15.1% of the 754 drawings where the {3-2-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 7.85% of all drawings. This Specific Order was last seen in the April 22, 2017 drawing.

The trio of Four-Number Combinations was made up of the following:

  • 25, 33, 37, 43 (Debuted August 3, 2013)
  • 16, 26, 33, 37 (Debuted December 2, 2006)
  • 25, 26, 33, 37 (Debuted March 3, 2007)

Did Powerball also see a Pattern three-peat?

Powerball

Unlike the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern in “sister” Mega Millions, the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern did not make a three-peat appearance, or “four-peat”, actually. Instead, Powerball saw the 34th appearance of the {3-1-1-1} Pattern. The winning numbers were 5, 21, 57, 66, 69, and PB 13.

This Pattern has played in 19.4% of the 175 drawings, and was last seen in the May 24, 2017 drawing a few weeks ago.

Now with fourteen appearances, the [1-1-3-1] General Order has played in 41.2% of the 34 drawings where the {3-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 8% of all Powerball drawings. This General Order previously played in the May 20, 2017 drawing.

Next up is the 1 1 0 0 3 1 Specific Order, making its second-ever appearance. This Specific Order has played in approximately 14.3% of the 14 drawings where the [1-1-3-1] General Order has appeared, 5.88% of the 34 drawings where the {3-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 1.14% of all 175 drawings. The 1 1 0 0 3 1 Specific Order made its debut in the September 21, 2016 drawing.

The lone repeating Three-Number Combination was 57, 66, and 69, and it made its debut over a year ago in the May 4, 2016 drawing.

What will Saturday’s drawing have in store? Will the {3-2-1} Pattern be daring and go for a fourth consecutive appearance? Will a Specific Order make its debut?

Calmly Wandering into a Three-Peat

Compared to what happened this past Friday, Mega Millions was mostly calm the night of June 6th. Mostly? Well, a bit of that Friday night charm rubbed off. Friday night’s Pattern not only made an encore appearance, but has now appeared three times in a row! Did the General Order and Specific Order get a touch of Friday night as well, or did they do their own thing?

The {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern made its 156th appearance, with winning numbers 3, 5, 16, 49, 75, and MB 5.

Source: lotterytrend-megamillions.com.

This Pattern has now played in 41.2% of the 379 Mega Millions drawings, and remains the most commonly seen Pattern.

The [2-1-1-1-1] General Order made its 38th appearance, and has now played in 24.4% of the 156 drawings where the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared. This General Order has also played in approximately 10% of all Mega Millions drawings. Unlike this occurrence of the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern, the [2-1-1-1-1] General Order was last seen in the May 23rd drawing.

Making its tenth appearance, the 2 1 0 1 1 1 Specific Order has played in 26.3% of the 38 drawings where the [2-1-1-1-1] General Order has appeared. When looking at the 156 drawings where the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared, this becomes 6.41% of the time, and 2.64% when looking at all 379 drawings. Prior to Tuesday night, this Specific Order was last seen in the October 25th, 2016 drawing.

There were no repeating Three-Number Combinations Tuesday night, but will there be at least one on Friday night? Will the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern dare to go for a “four-peat”?

The Common Denominator

Lotto Texas and Powerball dived into the June pool and they found common ground in Saturday night’s drawing. Both lotteries saw their most commonly played Patterns, and furthermore, these were encores! Powerball took it to another level and went into three-peat territory. Combination-wise, Lotto Texas saw repeating Four-Number Combinations. Powerball, on the other hand, didn’t see any repeating Three-Number Combinations.

Lotto Texas

With its 753rd appearance, the {3-2-1} Pattern remained the most commonly played. The June 3, 2017 drawing marked the occasion with winning numbers 1, 9, 17, 23, 53, and 54.

This Pattern has now played in 51.9% of the 1452 Lotto Texas drawings.

Making its 137th appearance, the 3 1 2 Specific Order has now played in 18.2% of the 753 drawings where the {3-2-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 9.44% of all Lotto Texas drawings. Prior to Saturday’s drawing, this Specific Order was last seen in the May 20, 2017  drawing just a few weeks ago.

One of the amazing things about repeating Four-Number Combinations is the range of their debut dates. As you can see from the dates above, these Combinations debuted anywhere from the early days of YouTube to a period where smartphones were everywhere.

Powerball

As mentioned earlier, Powerball also saw its most commonly seen Pattern make an encore appearance. The {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern was represented by winning numbers 3, 9, 21, 41, 54, and PB 25.

This statistic becomes 4.76% when looking at the 63 drawings where the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 1.72% of all drawings. This Specific Order hasn’t been seen in a while; the last time it appeared was in the December 17, 2016 drawing.

Will the Patterns continue to be joined at the hip in the week ahead, or will other Patterns appear? Will a Specific Order make its debut?

Sixth Month, Six Numbers, and Repeats

The year flies by, doesn’t it? June has arrived, and Mega Millions started the month with more momentum. The June 2nd drawing saw the encore of Tuesday’s Pattern. This time around, a repeating Three-Number Combination also appeared. Although repeats may be the bane of many a television viewer’s existence, repeats in lotteries are a good thing.

The 155th appearance of the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern was marked by winning numbers 7, 42, 57, 69, 72, and MB 10.

Will the week ahead feature more repeating Three-Number Combinations? Will the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern go for a three-peat?

Leaving May in 3-2-1

Lotto Texas

With 752 appearances, the {3-2-1} Pattern is second-to-none in Lotto Texas. The winning numbers for May 31st were 11, 26, 33, 40, 47, and 53.

23 Skidoo! A Blast From the (Recent) Past

A lot has happened since Saturday’s post. The Memorial Day weekend came and went, and Lottery Binge reached the one-year mark! Right off the heels of a big weekend, Mega Millions mellowed out. There were no repeating Three-Number Combinations, nor were there any rare plays. However, there was a play that appeared not too long ago. From last week, in fact.

Now with 154 appearances, the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern remains the most commonly seen Pattern in Mega Millions. The winning numbers for May 30, 2017 were 5, 20, 32, 37, 67, and MB 5.

Australia Play + (Repeating) Combinations = Summer

Memorial Day means many things to those of us residing in Lottery Trend Country. Fallen soldiers are honored, for one. The long weekend kicks off summer vacation for some kids, and a teaser for others. Regardless of what weekend it is, Lotto Texas and Powerball appear to reserve some of their biggest plays for Saturday nights. How did May 27th go? Lotto Texas saw a repeating Four-Number Combination and Powerball had a repeating Three-Number Combination, for one. There was also an Australia Play and a General Order and Specific Order that played together in a previous drawing. Which lottery had what play?
