This post could have been called “The Ides of March”, except March 15th was two weeks ago. Instead, we paid homage to a horror film series. Sort of.
Thankfully, there were no zombie hordes running around and society didn’t collapse, though the aftermath of March 27, 2021 was nothing short of awesome. This awesome, of course, was more along the lines of inspiring admiration or fear (the original definition, in fact).
What triggered such an emotion, you ask? For starters, Lotto Texas saw a playback, and a jackpot that rose to $8.25 million. Powerball nearly saw a playback, but something else, something of greater magnitude, occurred. Two somethings. The first something was the $238 million Powerball jackpot being won by a sole player from Florida. Naturally, the jackpot reset itself to $20 million. The other something was a repeat Four-Number Combination!

With winning numbers 16, 24, 42, 45, 48 and 50, the {4-1-1} Pattern made its 204th appearance.
There have now been 1850 Lotto Texas drawings, and this Pattern has played 11% of the time.
Now with 71 appearances, the 1 1 4 Specific Order has played in 34.8% of the 204 drawings where {4-1-1} was the winning Pattern. Once all 1850 drawings have been taken into consideration, this Specific Order has played 3.84% of the time.
Both the {4-1-1} Pattern and the 1 1 4 Specific Order were last seen March 17, 2021. Talk about lucky!
Four-Number Combinations
A trio of repeating Four-Number Combinations made an appearance. In fact, one of these Combinations debuted in the earlier-mentioned March 17th drawing!

- 24, 42, 45, 48 (Debuted September 13, 2017)

The {2-2-1-1} Pattern made its 162nd appearance with winning numbers 6, 14, 38, 39, 65 and PB 6.
There have now been 572 Powerball drawings, and this Pattern has played 28.3% of the time.
The [2-2-1-1] General Order, now with 58 appearances, has played in 35.8% of the 162 drawings where {2-2-1-1} was the winning Pattern. Once all 572 drawings have been taken into consideration, this General Order has played 10.1% of the time.
Prior to Saturday night, both the {2-2-1-1} Pattern and the [2-2-1-1] General Order played March 24, 2021. Not only was this a near-playback, but this was also a double encore!
Now with three appearances, the 2 0 2 0 1 1 Specific Order has played in 5.17% of the 58 drawings where the General Order was [2-2-1-1]. This Specific Order has also played in 1.85% of the 162 drawings where {2-2-1-1} was the winning Pattern and in 0.52% of all 572 drawings. The 2 0 2 0 1 1 Specific Order was last seen in the July 8, 2020 drawing.

The repeating Four-Number Combination (that wasn’t a typo) was 6, 38, 39 and PB 6.
This Combination debuted December 23, 2020.
Three-Number Combinations
Having popped the hood of a repeating Four-Number Combination, four repeating Three-Number Combinations were found deep inside:

All the combinations above debuted in the earlier-mentioned December 23rd drawing.
Powerball got hooked on repeating Three-Number Combinations, as there was room for one more! Repeating Three-Number Combination 14, 39, and 65 debuted January 16, 2021.
