At-“ten”-ding to Mega Millions

After appearing five times in a row, the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern was absent December 4, 2020. A couple of notable things happened on the way to derailing the Pattern streak:

  • The jackpot rose to $264 million
  • The dates. A playback didn’t happen (though it was close), but there was a similarity between them

General Lottery Analysis

The {2-2-1-1} Pattern was the one who put the kibosh on this {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern streak. With winning numbers 3, 19, 24, 44, 50 and MB 8, the {2-2-1-1} Pattern made its 168th appearance.

There have now been 625 Mega Millions drawings, and this Pattern has played 26.88% of the time.

The [1-2-2-1] General Order, now with 61 appearances, has played in 36.3% of the 168 drawings where {2-2-1-1} was the winning Pattern. Once all 625 drawings have been taken into consideration, this General Order has played 9.76% of the time.

Prior to Friday night, both the {2-2-1-1} Pattern and the [1-2-2-1] General Order played November 10, 2020.

Now with eight appearances, the 1 2 0 2 0 1 Specific Order has played in 13.1% of the 61 drawings where the General Order was [1-2-2-1]. This Specific Order has also played in 4.76% of the 168 drawings where {2-2-1-1} was the winning Pattern and in 1.28% of all 625 drawings. The 1 2 0 2 0 1 Specific Order was last seen in the July 10, 2020 drawing.

Three-Number Combinations

A couple of repeating Three-Number Combinations were also present:

  • 19, 24, MB 8 (Debuted May 20, 2016)
  • 3, 44, MB 8 (Debuted April 11, 2014)
