The Mad, Mad {3-1-1-1} Pattern

The {3-1-1-1} Pattern may not be Mega Millions’ most played Pattern (that honor goes to the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern) but it knows how to go big!

There was more, far more, to the October 13, 2020 drawing than what the numbers showed. So much in fact that the introduction to today’s post wouldn’t be enough. What happened that was so grand? Well, for starters, it was grand enough that the jackpot grew to $77 million.

The 115th appearance of the {3-1-1-1} Pattern was thanks to 11, 44, 45, 46, 70 and MB 25.

Once all 610 drawings have been taken into consideration, this General Order has played 6.23% of the time. Prior to Tuesday night, the [1-3-1-1] General Order played September 22, 2020.

Now with four appearances, the 1 0 0 3 1 1 Specific Order has played in 10.5% of the 38 drawings where the General Order was [1-3-1-1]. This Specific Order has also played in 3.48% of the 115 drawings where {3-1-1-1} was the winning Pattern and in 0.66% of all 610 drawings. We last saw the 1 0 0 3 1 1 Specific Order May 21, 2019.

Naturally, a repeating Four-Number Combination birthed four repeating Three-Number Combinations. Only three of these four debuted in the August 14th drawing mentioned earlier:

Lotto Texas: “I’m Still Relevant!”

Lotto Texas has a smaller jackpot than everyone else, true. That, however, has no effect on which Pattern is thrown to the masses. Or does it?

October 7, 2020 was a night of contrasts to be sure! Both Lotto Texas and Powerball saw their jackpots rise, but they took vastly different approaches. ‘Tis better to have been at the top and lost it, than to have never been at the top at all. At least, that’s the conclusion Lotto Texas came to after all that’s happened over the past 8.5 months. The road to $47 million will be an arduous one, though this past Saturday night was a step in the right direction. With no one matching the six winning numbers, the prize inched up to $5.25 million.

Oh, we’re not done yet.

With Lotto Texas out of the picture for the foreseeable future, there’s still the matter of frenemy Powerball. That lottery is known to take large leaps with jackpot boosts and the jackpot over there may very well eclipse Mega Millions’. Will Mega Millions and Powerball be locked in a battle of who can get the largest jackpot, or will one get knocked out of the ring early?

Some Things are Not Worth Repeating

It finally happened. After 8.5 months, Lotto Texas was brought down. Oh, don’t feel sorry for Lotto Texas; it had to happen sooner or later. Although both the {3-3} Pattern and the 3 3 0 Specific Order were a hit last time, they brought about the crash of September 30, 2020 and made a lone player from Seguin much richer. Mega Millions and Powerball hugged and high-fived each other, happy that the “uppity little lottery” was put back in its place. The prize was reset to $5 million.

Amidst the chaos, Powerball held strong. With the help of an Australia Play, its position in lottery high society was maintained. The jackpot increased to $41 million.

Similar Spread

What about a similar spread? That should’ve been enough to keep Lotto Texas in the good graces of lottery high society, right? No. No it wasn’t.

The spread for this past Wednesday night’s numbers was 07:05:03:08:03. This was similar to the spread from the November 1, 2000 drawing. That night, the winning numbers were 27, 30, 35, 38, 45 and 43, with the spread being 03:05:03:07:08. Different numbers played both nights but notice that the differences between numbers were the same, although in different orders.

With Lotto Texas out of the way, Powerball can now focus on other things, like, “How long will it take to have a monster-sized jackpot?” It may a while yet but to Powerball, the natural order has been restored and all is right with the world.

As for Lotto Texas? Well, it had a taste of the high life, and it’s not going to let this setback get in the way! But we must get through Saturday’s drawing first. It isn’t likely that the {3-3} Pattern will make a three-peat, but it is 2020, after all. We’ll need to keep an eye on it!
