Reduced-Strength Encore and a Combination Triple Offense

The weekend is a cherished time. It’s meant to be the two-day reprieve from the grinds of work and school. It’s a time to catch up, a time to hang out, and a time to rest.

Lotto Texas most certainly took the “rest” part to heart. There was indeed a {4-2} Pattern encore, but this appearance wasn’t nearly as explosive. An over-the-top play wasn’t needed to send the jackpot to $17.5 million.

Powerball kept it classy. However, underneath that class was a monster of a jackpot that underwent another growth spurt. The prize climbed to $296 million.

Four-Number Combinations

When we said the {4-2} Pattern’s encore wasn’t as explosive, we meant to say, “There weren’t any repeating Four-Number Combinations.”

Three-Number Combination(s)

There was just a single repeating Three-Number Combination, one that played twice before:

Third timer! Source: lotterytrend-powerball.com.

Two questions weigh on our minds as we head into Wednesday: Will the {4-2} Pattern be bold enough to go for a three-peat in Lotto Texas? Will the prizes in both Lotto Texas and Powerball continue to grow, or will they be reset?

Part of a Balanced Lottery Diet

One week ago, Mega Millions found itself in the grip of a lull. That Friday night was your “standard” drawing. No encores or other big plays to speak of, and no repeating Three-Number Combinations.

Oh, what a difference a week makes!

We’re not sure what got into Mega Millions this past Friday night, but it decided to indulge in a diet rich in repeating Three-Number Combinations. This was in addition to a {2-2-1-1} Pattern encore. With no one able to match all six numbers, the jackpot rose to $91 million.

General Lottery Analysis

Fresh from this past Tuesday, the {2-2-1-1} Pattern made its 146th appearance! The winning numbers for January 10, 2020 were 17, 27, 49, 51, 66, and MB 2.

Four-Number Combination

The Combination you see above made its debut in the May 29, 2015 drawing. If you recall, the last time we saw a repeating Four-Number Combination in Mega Millions was Christmas Eve 2019. How often do we get to witness two repeating Four-Number Combinations within the span of a few weeks?

Three-Number Combinations

Naturally, this repeating Four-Number Combination spawned four repeating Three-Number Combinations:

  • 27, 49, 66

Four repeating Three-Number Combinations would be a good place to stop, but Mega Millions had another idea. Why stop at just four when it could have four more?

“Wild Wednesday” with Lotto Texas and Powerball

Lull? What lull?

Lotto Texas, known for its chastity and civility (compared to Mega Millions and Powerball anyway) was anything but chaste or civil! When it came to wild and unruly, this lottery reigned supreme. This uncharacteristic behavior sent the jackpot to an even $17 million.

Powerball didn’t act foolish, and perhaps it didn’t need to. The massive jackpot, which rose to $277 million, helped this lottery preserve the appearance of dignity.

The Mega Millions Coverage Plan

It’s a new year, but some things never change. There’s always the need and the desire to earn big bucks. No worries. Mega Millions has you covered.

This past Tuesday was most likely your second or even first day back from the holidays. Already, you’re asking yourself, “Is it the weekend yet?!” No, no it’s not, but no worries. Mega Millions has you covered!

Based on the results of this past Tuesday’s drawing, Mega Millions only needed the weekend to rest up. There was a repeating Three-Number Combination, enough to shake off the lull. No one was able to match all six winning numbers; this sent the jackpot to $80 million.

General Lottery Analysis

The winning numbers for January 7th, 2020 were 25, 40, 41, 52, 56, and MB 21. This marked the 145th appearance of the {2-2-1-1} Pattern.

Mega Millions took to heart the idea of easing back into a routine. We’ll see if Friday night brings more repeating Three-Number Combinations or a rising jackpot. A {2-2-1-1} Pattern encore wouldn’t be out of the question, either!

Weekend at Lotteries’

The first weekend of 2020 got off a quiet start in the lottery world. For instance, “sister” lottery Mega Millions went into hibernation mode this past Friday. The payoff was a larger jackpot heading into Tuesday. Now, how long that will last is anyone’s guess.

Lotto Texas and Powerball copied their “sister” and decided to take it easy. Powerball was able to exert a bit more energy though, with a couple of showings from repeating Three-Number Combinations. That was overshadowed by the jackpot rising to $258 million. Lotto Texas may have been at rest, but it wasn’t about to pass up the opportunity to send its jackpot to $16.5 million.

Mega Millions in “Party Hard, Rest Hard”

Another holiday season has come and gone. A collective groan erupts far and wide as it’s time to get back into the work/school routine. Instead of groaning, Mega Millions yawned.

The Christmas-New Year’s timeframe was a busy one for this lottery. Christmas Eve saw a whopping seven repeating Three-Number Combinations! Nothing like that happened this past Friday. The jackpot rose to $69 million and Mega Millions cocooned itself in a blanket as it took a well-earned rest.

Mega Millions is off to a quiet start to the year, but does that mean the lull will continue in the foreseeable future?

The Future is {3-2-1}

Happy New Year, everyone! Some ways to start the new year include singing “Auld Lang Syne” (poorly), drinking, binge watching movies, watching the Rose Bowl, and playing lottery. Now, one of these things isn’t like the others. Having an opportunity to win millions of dollars on the very first day of a new year doesn’t happen on years that begin on Sunday, Monday, or Thursday.

New Year’s Day 2020 had two opportunities: Lotto Texas and Powerball. They kicked off the year by mostly keeping to themselves. This (mostly) quiet night saw the jackpots rise to $16.25 million in Lotto Texas and $237 million in Powerball.

Lotto Texas

General Lottery Analysis

Lotto Texas began the new year the same way the old one ended: with the {3-2-1} Pattern. The Pattern encore was brought to you by 3, 4, 13, 19, 35, and 37.

The {3-2-1} Pattern has now played 911 times. With that said, there have been 1721 Lotto Texas drawings to date, and this Pattern has played in 52.9% of them. Recall that this Pattern was last seen in the December 28, 2019 drawing.

Now with 164 appearances, the 3 2 1 Specific Order has played in 18% of the 911 drawings where {3-2-1} was the winning Pattern. Four-Number Combination(s)

Lotto Texas only had enough energy for the {3-2-1} Pattern encore, thus, no repeating Four-Number Combinations.

Powerball

General Lottery Analysis

Powerball borrowed from the Lotto Texas playbook and also put in its {3-2-1} Pattern! With winning numbers 49, 53, 57, 59, 62, and PB 26, this Pattern has played 27 times.

January is often seen as a “lull”. The Hallowthankmas season is over and it’ll be a while yet before Valentine’s Day. Will Lotto Texas and Powerball have a quiet month, or will this be a month of Pattern streaks and snowballing jackpots?

The {4-1-1} on New Year’s Eve

New Year’s Eve is a time of reflection and a time to party. Drinks, movies, games, all these are well and good, but no celebration is complete without fireworks! Mega Millions said “Adios!” to 2019 with a fireworks display of its own by showcasing an uncommonly seen Pattern and an entourage of repeating Three-Number Combinations. As the fireworks show ended, the players were left with a jackpot that climbed to $60 million.
