(Order) in the Mega Millions Court

Admittedly cheesy title aside, there was a stirring in Mega Millions this past Tuesday. The jackpot soared once more, resting, for now, at $285 million. Pattern-wise, a {2-1-1-1-1} three-peat wasn’t meant to be. In its place was a different Pattern that was accompanied by a Specific Order debut.

General Lottery Analysis

The {3-1-1-1} Pattern was the one responsible for blocking the three-peat and has now played 97 times. The winning numbers for December 3, 2019 were 23, 43, 60, 63, 69, and MB 19.

Given that there have been 520 Mega Millions drawings, this Pattern has played 18.7% of the time and was last seen November 19, 2019.

The [1-1-3-1] General Order, now with 28 appearances, has played in 28.9% of the 97 drawings where {3-1-1-1} was the winning Pattern. Once all 520 drawings have been taken into consideration, this General Order has played 5.38% of the time. Prior to Tuesday night, the [1-1-3-1] General Order played April 2, 2019.

The 0 1 0 1 3 1 Specific Order also made its first appearance! With that said, this Specific Order has now played in 3.57% of the 28 drawings where the General Order was [1-1-3-1]. This Specific Order has also played in 1.03% of the 97 drawings where {3-1-1-1} was the winning Pattern and in 0.19% of all 520 drawings.

Three-Number Combination(s)

The lone repeating Three-Number Combination was 43, 63, and MB 19.

This Combination debuted in the November 30, 2018 drawing.

What a way to start the month! Hard to believe, but the year (and decade, depending on who you ask) is almost over. Will these last few weeks see a monstrous Mega Millions jackpot take control?
