August is nearly halfway finished, and the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern shows no sign of slowing down. The {2-1-1-1-1} went for the five-peat Friday night and clinched it!  Additionally, we saw a three-peat appearance of the [1-2-1-1-1] General Order.  And now, the recap of Friday night’s drawing.

The winning numbers for the August 12^th, 2016 Mega Millions drawing were 4, 41, 44, 56, 69, and MB 10.

Now with 116 appearances, the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern retains its wide lead as the most commonly seen Mega Millions Pattern. With 294 drawings to date, the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has played 39.4% of the time. The last time we saw this Pattern was August 9^th, 2016. We also saw it on July 29^th, August 2^nd, and August 5^th.

The [1-2-1-1-1] General Order made its 34^th appearance Friday night, and given the 116 drawings in which the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has played, this General Order has played 29.3% of the time. Now, taking all 294 Mega Millions drawings into account, the [1-2-1-1-1] General Order has played 11.6% of the time. The [1-2-1-1-1] General Order was also seen in the August 5^th and August 9^th drawings. Interestingly, the [1-2-1-1-1] General Order could’ve been a five-peat as well if only it weren’t for the August 2^nd drawing! Although the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern played that night, the General Order was a [2-1-1-1-1]. Nevertheless, a three-peat is nothing to sneeze at.

The 1 0 2 1 1 1 Specific Order has now appeared 6 times, and out of the 34 drawings in which the [1-2-1-1-1] General Order has played, this Specific Order has played 17.6% of the time. If we take the 116 drawings in which the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has played, the 1 0 2 1 1 1 Specific Order has played 5.17% of the time. Finally, looking at all 294 Mega Millions drawings, the 1 0 2 1 1 1 Specific Order has played 2.04% of the time. The last we saw this Specific Order was February 16^th, 2016.

Last, but certainly not least, we saw a Three-Number Combination put forth by 56, 69, and MB 10.

This Three-Number Combination first played March 11^th, 2014.

Looking ahead to next week, how much momentum does the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern really possess? Will it do the unthinkable and make a sixth appearance? Will the [1-2-1-1-1] General Order go for the four-peat?

Friday night was dang awesome. The Rio Olympics officially kicked off with a stellar opening ceremony for one. Hope y’all didn’t forget to play Mega Millions last night! While there was Carnival and fireworks (tape delay or no), a Mega Millions Pattern sambaed its way to a three-peat appearance.

The winning numbers for August 5^th, 2016 were brought to us by 5, 18, 28, 54, 74, and MB 6.

No doubt about it. With its 114^th appearance, the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern far and away continues to be the most commonly played Mega Millions Pattern. In fact, this Pattern played earlier this week on August 2^nd, 2016! With 292 Mega Millions drawings to date, the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has played 39% of the time.

The [1-2-1-1-1] was the General Order of the night, having now made 32 appearances, its first since July 29^th, 2016. Given the 114 drawings in which the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has played, the [1-2-1-1-1] has played 28.1% of the time. When we look at all 292 Mega Millions drawings, the [1-2-1-1-1] General Order has played 11% of the time.

The 1 2 0 1 1 1 Specific Order made its 6^th appearance, its first since July 8^th, 2016. Given the 32 appearances of the [1-2-1-1-1] General Order, the 1 2 0 1 1 1 Specific Order has now played 18.75% of the time. Taking the 114 appearances of the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern, the 1 2 0 1 1 1 Specific Order has played 5.26% of the time. Finally, when we look at all 292 Mega Millions drawings, the 1 2 0 1 1 1 Specific Order has played 2.05% of the time.

Last, but certainly not least, we come to the Three Number Combination in the form of 28, 74, and MB 6. The first time this Combination played was a little over two years ago, back on June 3^rd, 2014.

Looking ahead to next week, will the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern continue to pull ahead and aim for a four-peat, or will another Pattern break the streak?

Ah, August. August, August, August. What can we say about August?

• It’s the eighth month of the year (almost 2/3 of the way done with 2016).
• It’s named for Augustus Caesar.
• Kids and teachers are letting out a collective groan far and wide. Those who start in September get a one-month grace period.

Mega Millions started the month with an encore appearance of a Pattern we saw just last week!

The winning numbers for the Tuesday, August 2^nd 2016 Mega Millions drawing were brought to us by 3, 12, 36, 54, 70, and MB 12.

The {2-1-1-1-1} continues to be the most commonly seen Pattern, having now made its 113^th appearance. This Pattern played this past Friday (July 29^th, 2016). Out of 291 Mega Millions drawings to date, the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has played 38.8% of the time.

The General Order of the evening was [2-1-1-1-1], which has now appeared in 30 drawings. Out of the 113 drawings in which the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has played, the [2-1-1-1-1] General Order has played 26.5% of the time. When we take all 291 Mega Millions drawings into account, the [2-1-1-1-1] General Order has played 10.3% of the time. We last saw this General Order on July 12^th, 2016.

We saw the 2 0 1 1 1 1 Specific Order make its 7^th appearance. Out of the 30 times the [2-1-1-1-1] General Order has appeared, the 2 0 1 1 1 1 Specific Order has played 23.3% of the time. When we look at just the 113 Patterns, the 2 0 1 1 1 1 Specific Order has played 6.19% of the time. Finally, looking at all 291 Mega Millions drawings, we see that the 2 0 1 1 1 1 Specific Order has played 2.41% of the time. It’s been a while since the 2 0 1 1 1 1 Specific Order appeared; it last played April 29^th, 2016.

And now, we come to the Three Number Combination. Tuesday’s Combination was provided by the numbers 54, 70, and MB 12, which in fact first played back on January 15^th, 2016.

How festive can Mega Millions get this month? Will we see any Patterns play on a continuous streak or other plays of Olympian magnitude?
