Lotto Texas Throwback and Powerball’s Most Common Pattern

Some very interesting plays took place Saturday night with Lotto Texas and Powerball. In fact, Lotto Texas saw some of the biggest draws of the night! A very special Pattern played and the Four-Number Combination was a trip in the Wayback Machine, demonstrating even more the power of repetition.

Lotto Texas

The winning numbers for June 11, 2016 were 5, 10, 25, 36, 39, and 41.

These numbers played in a {2-2-2} Pattern, and this has now appeared 188 times in 1350 drawings, or 13.9%. Now, this Pattern isn’t like all the other Patterns we’ve discussed for Lotto Texas so far. In fact, this Pattern is much like Australia.

Land of sunburns, vegemite, and angry kangaroos. Taken from http://www.pd4pic.com/flag-country-australia-outline-symbol-land-with.html

Why are we discussing Australia on a lottery blog you wonder? If you remember your fourth grade geography class, you learned that Australia is the only country that is also a continent. The {2-2-2} Pattern is also a Specific Order! Logically then, whenever a {2-2-2} Pattern appears, the 2 2 2 Specific Order will always play. This Pattern played a few weeks ago on May 14, 2016. Due to the nature of the {2-2-2} Pattern, it shall henceforth also be known as an Australia Play.

This particular {2-2-2} Pattern brought yet another surprise. The last four winning numbers 25, 36, 39, and 41 make up a Four-Number Combination and this Combination was last played September 2, 2000. We’re talking pre-social media, pre-iPhone days when a landline was still needed to connect to the Internet. This Four-Number Combination is in the red box below.

Powerball

Powerball may not have had the same 1-2-3 punch as Lotto Texas last night, but there were still some noteworthy observations. The winning numbers were 20, 27, 36, 41, 58 and PB 7.

The winning Pattern was a {2-2-1-1} and it last played just two weeks ago on May 28, 2016. As of today, this Pattern has played 23 times out of 72 drawings to date, or 31.9%. This is a commonly played Pattern.

NOTE: The most common Pattern for Powerball to date is in fact {2-1-1-1-1}. When that Pattern plays again, we’ll also provide the previous date in which it played.

The following General Orders are possible with a {2-2-1-1} Pattern:

[1-2-2-1]

[2-1-2-1]

[2-2-1-1]

The General Order that appeared was [2-2-1-1], which in fact is the most commonly seen General Order for this particular Pattern. Of the 23 times the {2-2-1-1} Pattern has played, the [2-2-1-1] General Order last played March 23, 2016. If we take all of the times the {2-2-1-1} Pattern has played, this General Order has appeared only 13.9% of the time. The 0 2 2 0 1 1 Specific Order played, bringing it to a total of 2 out of 10 times, or 20% of the time this particular General Order has played.

Will we see another Australia Play in Lotto Texas next week? Will a Four-Number Combo that hasn’t been played in years start to make an appearance in Powerball and Mega Millions, or will Lotto Texas have all the fun?

Mega Millions Has the 4-1-1

For the past three Mega Millions drawings, we’ve seen one Pattern repeat twice in a row, and another Pattern break the mini-streak. Did the {2-2-1-1} Pattern from Tuesday’s drawing start its own mini-streak? No. No it did not. The winning numbers from the June 10, 2016 drawing were 34, 61, 66, 67, 68 and MB 7:

MegaMillions_20160610

These numbers played in a {4-1-1} Pattern, which has played 9 times out 276. Statistics-wise, this puts it as having played a paltry 3.26% of the time. Only one other Mega Millions pattern has played so few times. Have you ever seen 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, MB 6 ever play? We didn’t think so!

Now then. This rarely played Pattern can have either one of the following General Orders:

[1-4-1]

[4-1-1]

Out of the 9 times that the {4-1-1} Pattern has played, the [1-4-1] Pattern has played 4 times. Given these 9 times, that’s approximately 44%. Sounds impressive, doesn’t it? Thing is, there are only two General Orders associated with {4-1-1}. Also, if we were to take all 276 Mega Millions drawings into account, the [1-4-1] General Order has played 4 out of 276 times, or an anemic 1.45%.

Of the four times the [1-4-1] General Order has played, the Specific Order 0 0 1 0 4 1 has played in half of them.

Will the next Mega Millions drawing see a more commonly played Pattern? Will the {4-1-1} Pattern cause an upset and start its own winning streak?

Mambo with Four-Number Combos and 2-1-1-1-1

For the past couple of blog posts, we mentioned how everything repeats given enough time. Well, we’re here to tell you that no Patterns or Orders carried over from last week for either the Texas Lotto or Powerball. The repeats came from the appearance of two Four-Number Combinations in Wednesday’s Lotto Texas drawing. Additionally, we saw the appearance of different Patterns and Orders for both Lotto Texas and Powerball.

Lotto Texas

The winning numbers for June 8th, 2016 were as follows: 2, 13, 22, 35, 36, and 39.

TxLotto_20160608

The winning Pattern was a {3-2-1}, which is actually the most commonly played Pattern by a mile, or kilometer for our non-American readers out there. This has played 704 times out of 1349 so far, which means it has played approximately 52.19% of the time. The Specific Order was a 2 3 1, which has only played 115 times out 1349, or 8.52%. Remember that with Lotto Texas, there are no General Orders like Powerball or Mega Millions, just Specific Orders.

As we hinted at earlier, there were two Four-Number Combinations that played. The Four-Number Combination of 13, 35, 36, 39 last played nearly ten years ago on July 5th, 2006.

TXLotto_4NumberCombo20160608_A

The other Four-Number Combination of 2, 22, 35, 36 actually played a few months back on October 17th, 2015.

TXLotto_4NumberCombo20160608_B

Although a Pattern can appear again in successive drawings, a Four-Number Combination may not play again for months, or even years.

Powerball

Powerball’s winning numbers were 12, 25, 37, 60, 69, and PB 20.

PowerBall_20160608

This was a {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern, which, as it turns out, is the most commonly played Pattern for Powerball so far. As of Wednesday, this has played 29 times out of 71, or 40.85%. Given the {2-1-1-1} Pattern, the following General Orders are possible:

[1-1-1-2-1]

[1-1-2-1-1]

[1-2-1-1-1]

[2-1-1-1-1]

The General Order [1-1-1-2-1] played, bringing it to a total of 12 times out of 71, or 16.9%. To date, this has been the most commonly played General Order for this Pattern. The Specific Order 1 1 1 0 2 1 has played 3 times out of 12, putting it at a solid 25%.

As we await the results of Saturday’s drawings, we just gotta wonder. Will we see a Four-Number Combo make an appearance in Lotto Texas after a long absence? Will Powerball be like its sister Mega Millions and see a Pattern repeat, or will an entirely new one play?

New Trend on the Block

Third time is not the charm. For the past two Mega Millions drawings, the winning Pattern was a {3-1-1-1}. Instead, Tuesday night saw the appearance of a {2-2-1-1} Pattern. The winning numbers for June 7th are as follows: 25, 48, 51, 65, 72, and a Mega Ball of 4.

MegaMillions_June072016

This particular pattern has played 88 times out of 275 drawings to date. Statistically speaking, it has played 32% of the time. In fact, it’s the second-most common pattern to date. The most common pattern? We’ll tell you on a future date.

Since we have a new pattern, it’s time to go over General Orders. Given that we have a {2-2-1-1} Pattern, you can have any of the following General Orders:

[1-2-2-1]

[2-1-2-1]

[2-2-1-1]

Our winning numbers played in the [1-2-2-1] General Order. Given that there have been 275 drawings to date, this General Order has played 22 times, giving a stat so far of 8%. To date, it’s the least commonly drawn General Order for this particular Pattern. Yet, it looks nice and even, doesn’t it?

And now it’s time to break it down further. This particular General Order saw the following Specific Order:

0 1 0 2 2 1

Out of the 22 times this General Order has played, this Specific Order has played…twice. Yes, twice. There are, in fact, Specific Orders that haven’t played at all so far. But, as we said in the June 4th post, everything repeats, given enough time. This Specific Order/General Order will play again. This General Order will play again. When it plays again, will it have the same Specific Order, or will a brand new one play?

Saturday Night Repeats (June 4, 2016)

We’ve all heard at one time or another that given enough time, everything repeats. Of course, Patterns (that’s why they’re called Patterns) and Combinations are no strangers to this phenomenon. Saturday’s drawings were a prime example of repetition, doubly so for the Texas Lotto, and you’ll see why shortly.

Texas Lotto

The winning numbers for Texas Lotto are taken from our Lottery Trend website:

TXLotto_20160604

The numbers above played in a {4-1-1-1} Pattern, which was also observed in the June 1st drawing. That puts it as having played 150 times out of 1348 drawings, or roughly 11.13% to date. Recall the Specific Orders that are possible with a {4-1-1-1} Pattern:

1 1 4

1 4 1

4 1 1

Saturday’s Specific Order for Texas Lotto was a 1 4 1 instead of a 4 1 1 we saw on Wednesday. The Texas Lotto drawing this Saturday also saw the second appearance of the Four-Number Combination. Here’s a snippet from our site; the Four-Number Combination that played last night is inside the red box. Note the complementary Two-Number Combination as well.

TXLotto_4NumberCombo_20160604

This particular Four-Number Combination played once before on March 22nd, 2014! Here’s proof in this case that everything repeats, given enough time! Will it show up again in another two years’ time? Will it be sooner or later?

Powerball

Earlier in the post, we hinted that the Powerball drawing also a saw a repeat. The winning numbers are as follows, and they were taken from our Powerball site:

PowerBall_20160604

This was a {3-1-1-1} Pattern, and it has played 10 times out of 70 drawings to date, putting it at roughly 14.29%. Again, here are the General Orders that are possible for a {3-1-1-1} Pattern:

[1-1-3-1]

[1-3-1-1]

[3-1-1-1]

Given the General Orders that are allowed for a {3-1-1-1} pattern, the General Order was a [3-1-1-1]. While the Pattern saw a repeat, the General Order did not! Nor did we see a repeat for the Specific Order. On Wednesday, we saw a 0 1 3 0 1 1 Specific Order, whereas this time around it was 0 3 0 1 1 1.

Got the 3-1-1-1?

We humans are creatures that, although we love excitement, truly crave the ordinary and the routine. By “routine”, we mean “repetition”. Why do we keep going back to Hogwarts? Why do we have the latest Adele song on repeat? Why do we keep watching the cat fall into the pool over and over? Well, we get to pick up on things we missed the first (few) time(s) around, or sometimes we just want to listen to that song over and over again. Above all, it makes us feel good.

Patterns are truly special and they’re even more special when they appear for the second time in the same week. We’re going to touch on this more in just a bit, but for now, here are the winning numbers from the Mega Millions drawing on Friday, June 3rd:

MegaMillions_20160603

Yes, ladies and gentlemen. The {3-1-1-1} Pattern played Friday, just as it had back on May 31st. This Pattern has only played 44 out of 274 drawings to date, which puts it about 16.06%. Could there be something to it?

Even though the same Pattern played on Friday, the General Order was not the same! If you remember this week’s earlier post on Mega Millions, the following General Orders are possible with the {3-1-1-1} Pattern:

[1-1-3-1]

[1-3-1-1]

[3-1-1-1]

Friday’s General Order was a [1-1-3-1] and the Specific Order was a 0 0 1 3 1 1.

Lotto Texas and Powerball for June 1st, 2016

Wednesdays are special for us at Lottery Binge for that’s one day (Saturday is the other) that both Texas Lotto and Powerball play. We’re going to first discuss Texas Lotto and then on to Powerball. If you’re just here for the Powerball analysis, then scroll down.

Texas Lotto, if the name weren’t a giveaway, is the state lottery for Texas (Yee haw!).

The winning numbers for Lotto Texas are as follows:

TexasLotto_June022016

The winning Pattern was {4-1-1}, and it has played 149 times out of 1347 drawings to date. For those of you who are big into stats, that’s roughly 11.06%. Given the {4-1-1} pattern, you can expect the following Specific Orders:

1 1 4

1 4 1

4 1 1

To all the Texas Lotto players out there: this lottery has Specific Orders only. Both the Mega Millions and the Powerball lotteries feature General and Specific Orders.

Speaking of Powerball, this is the other lottery that’s played across 44 states, as well as Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and the District of Columbia. Here were winning numbers for June 1st:

PowerBall_June022016

Powerball had a winning Pattern of {3-1-1-1}, which has played 9 times out of 69 draws to date; that’s 13.04%. Here are the following General Orders you can expect with this particular Pattern:

[1-1-3-1]

[1-3-1-1]

[3-1-1-1]

The Powerball drawing for June 1st had the [1-3-1-1] General Order. The Specific Order was 0 1 3 0 1 1.

Mega Millions Drawing: May 31, 2016

Today we’re going to look at the Mega Millions drawing for May 31, 2016. For those of you who are brand new to Mega Millions and just don’t know where to start, this is a US-based lottery that can be played in 44 states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico, with drawings on Tuesdays and Fridays.

With that said, let’s take a look at Tuesday’s winning numbers:

MegaMillions_June012016

The winning Pattern here is {3-1-1-1}, which has played 43 out of 273 drawings to date. Now, given those stats, this particular pattern has played 15.75% of the time. Again, that’s 15.75% of the time to date! With a {3-1-1-1} Pattern, you can expect to see either of the following General Orders:

[1-1-3-1]

[1-3-1-1]

[3-1-1-1]

Last night’s winning numbers had the General Order of [1-3-1-1]. The Specific Order was 1 0 3 1 0 1.
