Summer Spread & Summer Streak

Whether the summers really are getting longer and hotter or it’s just you, air conditioning is a blessing. All you need to do is turn down the thermostat, plop on the couch, and let the cool air blow. That is, unless the air conditioner breaks down and you’re dripping in sweat. You may then be tempted to take off some or even all your clothes and walk around just to feel a breeze. Thankfully, lotteries don’t engage in that kind of streak. Interestingly, things get hotter in the lottery world whenever there’s a streak. A Pattern streak, that is!

July 16, 2022 was the night that Powerball’s {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern got into streak mode. Entering “streak mode” unleashed a bombardment of repeating Three-Number Combinations and helped push the jackpot to a robust $89 million. Meanwhile, Lotto Texas took to a different approach. Ever the classy one, this lottery switched out Patterns, which pushed the jackpot to $7.25 million.

And so, it happened. Three months of build-up and suspense has led to this moment. On the night of July 15, 2022, Mega Millions pulled up a chair at The Half-Billion Club, all thanks to the many who tried and failed to claim the prize. Two Scoops of Mega Millions Brand {3-1-1-1} Pattern

You’re never too old for ice cream or popsicles! They can be enjoyed year-round, sure, but there’s something about enjoying them in summer that makes us giddy and feel like kids again. Who doesn’t like to cool down with a scoop of Rocky Road or chocolate with extra sprinkles? Heck, why have one scoop when you can have two?

Likewise, why play a Pattern once when you can play it again? It’s even more special when it’s not the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern.

Mega Millions served another helping of the {3-1-1-1} Pattern Tuesday night, and what a helping! Not even an extreme case of brain freeze could stop the jackpot from reaching $480 million.

Watering the Jackpot

Plants need the right balance of water, sunlight, and nutrients to thrive. Lottery jackpots are similar. They need the right balance of Patterns, Orders, and repeating Three-Number (or Four-Number) Combinations to flourish. The longer this is maintained, the bigger the jackpot grows, and the Mega Millions jackpot is certainly flourishing!

“Growth” was the word of the evening July 8, 2022, and there was plenty of it. After yet another night of no grand prize winner, the jackpot grew to $440 million.

Leftovers, Anyone?

Across many households in many languages, people are asking, “Hey (name)? What’s for dinner?” In some places, (name) is planning to cook a new dish. In others, (name) announces “Leftovers.” Sometimes, leftovers don’t seem very appetizing. Just the name alone makes some stomachs churn.

Now, leftovers aren’t inherently bad. Food waste should be minimized as much as possible, and left-over leftovers can be frozen, provided they’re still fresh. For lotteries, leftovers are all but a certainty. Some leftovers have more kick to them than others.

After a holiday weekend, it was fitting that something carried over into Lotto Texas and Powerball. The leftovers served up on July 6, 2022 gave the jackpots a shot of extra flavor. The Lotto Texas jackpot became $6.25 million, and Powerball’s jackpot continued onward to $48 million.

Mega Millions and the Pattern Reprisal

Love ‘em or hate ‘em, no Independence Day celebration is complete without fireworks! Even the stodgiest person can be mesmerized by whizzes, whirls, and colorful explosions, be it from the fireworks show hosted by the city proper, or the impromptu one hosted on the neighborhood block. Those who “host” the fireworks show on the block probably had a few holidays where not all the fireworks get used. Sure, they can be saved for the next Fourth of July, or even New Year’s, but why wait? Mega Millions didn’t.

For one, Mega Millions was firing off fireworks as early as July 1st. That festive mood carried over into Tuesday night and pairing that with some leftover fireworks meant another show! The jackpot soared overhead and reached a height of $400 million.

A Dip in the Playback Pool

Here’s a fun fact: July 2nd is the actual halfway point of the year. We are officially 50% done with 2022! Since the mid-year point is knee-deep in summer in Lottery Trend country, what better way to celebrate than jumping into the pool (and watching fireworks)? There are your above-ground pools, your lap pools, your indoor pools and so on, but what about number pools? They may not be filled with water, but they have a way of changing people’s lives.

Lotto Texas and Powerball hung out by the playback pool Saturday night. One lottery cannonballed into the pool while the other stuck their toes in. The result for both lotteries was the same: rising jackpots! Lotto Texas’s jackpot jumped to $5.75 million, and Powerball’s jackpot rebounded to $26 million.
