Two Scoops of Rare Treats

If you like rare Patterns, then you were in for a treat Wednesday night! Both Lotto Texas and Powerball saw some of their least-commonly seen Patterns in the July 19th drawing. In addition to these rare Patterns playing, both lotteries saw Specific Orders that hadn’t played in two years, or thereabouts.

Lotto Texas

The winning numbers were 1, 3, 11, 15, 16, and 50, bringing the number of appearances of the {5-1} Pattern to 52.

Source: lotterytrend.com.

This Pattern has played in 3.55% of the 1465 Lotto Texas drawings, and was last seen in the March 25th, 2017 drawing.

Making its third appearance, the 5 0 1 Specific Order has played in 5.77% of the 52 drawings where the {5-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 0.20% of all 1465 drawings. This Specific Order previously played a little over a couple of years ago in the June 13th, 2015 drawing.

Lotto Texas felt the {5-1} Pattern was enough, for there were no repeating Four-Number Combinations.

Powerball

The {3-2-1} made its eighth appearance, with winning numbers 50, 51, 59, 61, 63, and PB 4.

Source: lotterytrend-powerball.com.

This Pattern has played in 4.28% of the 187 Powerball drawings, and previously played in the April 12th, 2017 drawing.

With six appearances, the [2-3-1] General Order has played in 75% of the eight drawings where the {3-2-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 3.21% of all 187 drawings. This General Order played alongside the {3-2-1} Pattern in the April 12th drawing.

Now with two appearances, the 0 0 0 2 3 1 Specific Order has played in approximately 33.3% of the six drawings where the [2-3-1] General Order has appeared. This Specific Order has also played in 25% of the eight drawings where the {3-2-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 1.07% of all 187 Powerball drawings. The 0 0 0 2 3 1 Specific Order made its debut in the October 17th, 2015 drawing.

There was one lone repeating Three-Number Combination, and it was 59, 63, and PB 4.

This Combination made its debut in the July 2nd, 2016 drawing.

Looking ahead to Saturday, will any of these rare Patterns make an encore appearance?

The Big Thaw

After a restful weekend, Lotto Texas and Powerball came back swinging Wednesday night. In fact, a major warm-up took place. The night of July 12th saw Patterns from recent Saturdays make an appearance in both lotteries. What’s more is that the Powerball Pattern from this past Saturday made an encore appearance. There were also repeating Four-Number Combinations for Lotto Texas and a repeating Three-Number Combination for Powerball.

Prior to Wednesday night, how recent was Lotto Texas’s Pattern? What was it, anyway?

Lotto Texas

The {3-2-1} Pattern made its 760th appearance, with winning numbers 4, 19, 24, 32, 44, and 50.

Source: lotterytrend.com.

This Pattern has played in 51.9% of the 1463 drawings and was last seen in the July 1st drawing nearly two weeks ago.

With 116 appearances, the 1 3 2 Specific Order has played in 15.3% of the 760 drawings where the {3-2-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 7.93% of all 1463 drawings. Like the {3-2-1} Pattern, this Specific Order previously played on July 1st.

There were two repeating Four-Number Combinations, one of which made its debut near the beginning of the century (yeah, that far). They were

  • 4, 24, 32, 50 (Debuted December 29th, 2001)
  • 19, 24, 32, 50 (Debuted September 3rd, 2008)

This Specific Order made its debut in the November 4th, 2015 drawing.

Will things stay hot on Saturday night?

Guess Who Decided to Show Up?

Well, isn’t this something!? After not showing up in the July 7th Mega Millions drawing, the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern appeared Tuesday night.

If it had made an appearance in both Friday night and Tuesday night’s drawings, it would’ve shattered the record for most consecutive appearances of a Pattern. At least, as far as Lottery Binge’s Mega Millions coverage is concerned. Perhaps next summer, {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern. Perhaps next summer.

With that said, the winning numbers for the July 11th drawing were 7, 18, 24, 55, 74, and MB 10.

{2-1-1-1-1} comes back. Source: lotterytrend-megamillions.com.

The {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared in 162 out of 389 Mega Millions drawings, and has played 41.6% of the time. The last time we saw this Pattern was in the July 4th drawing.

Making its 46th appearance, the [1-2-1-1-1] General Order has played in 28.4% of the 162 drawings where the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared. This General Order has also played in 11.8% of all 389 drawings, and was last seen in the May 16th drawing.

With nine appearances, the 1 2 0 1 1 1 Specific Order has played in 19.6% of the 46 drawings where the [1-2-1-1-1] General Order has appeared, and 5.56% of the 162 drawings where the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared. This Specific Order has also played in 2.31% of all 389 drawings. Prior to Tuesday night, the 1 2 0 1 1 1 Specific Order previously played in the November 15th, 2016 drawing.

There were also three repeating Three-Number Combinations, and they were as follows:

  • 18, 24, MB 10 (Debuted November 17th, 2015)
  • 55, 74, MB 10 (Debuted April 29th, 2016)
  • 7, 24, 74 (Debuted October 18th, 2016)

Will the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern dare to start up another streak right after breaking the last one, or will another Pattern play?

The Streak is Gone

The {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern didn’t go for a sixth consecutive appearance in the July 7th drawing. If it had, then it would have tied the record set last summer. What a firework show that would have been! Nevertheless, Friday night’s drawing provided its own fireworks. Although a less common Pattern played, there was more bubbling underneath the surface.

The winning numbers were 2, 9, 11, 28, 60, and MB 10, bringing the total number of appearances of the {3-1-1-1} Pattern to 63.

Source: lotterytrend-megamillions.com.

This Pattern has played in 16.2% of the 388 Mega Millions drawings, and was last seen in the June 13th, 2017 drawing.

Making its 22nd appearance, the [3-1-1-1] General Order has played in 34.9% of the 63 drawings where the {3-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 5.67% of all 388 drawings. Prior to Friday night, this General Order was last seen in the May 26th, 2017 drawing.

Now with two appearances, the 3 1 0 1 0 1 Specific Order has played in approximately 9.09% of the 22 drawings where the [3-1-1-1] General Order has appeared, and in 3.17% of the 63 drawings where the {3-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared. This Specific Order has also played in 0.52% of all 388 drawings. The 3 1 0 1 0 1 Specific Order made its debut in the May 22nd, 2015 drawing.

Seeing a Specific Order that hadn’t played in over two years wasn’t the only big draw of the evening.

Friday night’s winning numbers share a similar spread with the May 23rd, 2014 drawing. That drawing’s winning numbers were 12, 14, 21, 38, 70, and MB 15, with a spread of 02:07:17:32. The spread from Friday night was 07:02:17:32. Note that while the difference between numbers was the same in both drawings, the order was different.

Another big draw was the repeat appearances of two Three-Number Combinations. The Combinations were

  • 2, 9, 11 (Debuted June 2nd, 2015)
  • 11, 60, MB 10 (Debuted March 17th, 2017)
Boxed in together. Source: lotterytrend-megamillions.com.

Will the {3-1-1-1} Pattern make an encore appearance Tuesday? Will there be another similar spread next week?

Five-Time Charmer

The Fourth of July came and went. Across the U.S., people went to cookouts, parades, and even sales at retail stores. Of course, no Fourth of July celebration is complete without fireworks. Speaking of fireworks, Mega Millions had a show of its own. The {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has now made its fifth consecutive appearance!

Did this iteration of the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern also produce any repeating Three-Number Combinations, or did the Pattern steal the show?

Tuesday night’s winning numbers were 16, 39, 47, 53, 71, and MB 15, bringing the number of appearances of the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern to 161.

This Pattern has now played in 41.6% of the 387 Mega Millions drawings.

Making its 37th appearance, the [1-1-2-1-1] General Order has played in approximately 23% of the 161 drawings where the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 9.56% of all 387 drawings. Like the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern, this General Order was last seen in the June 30th drawing.

With nine appearances, the 0 1 1 2 1 1 Specific Order has played in 24.3% of the 37 drawings where the [1-1-2-1-1] General Order has appeared, and in 5.59% of the 161 drawings where the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared. This Specific Order has also played in 2.33% of all 387 drawings. Prior to Tuesday night, the 0 1 1 2 1 1 Specific Order was last seen in the January 27th, 2017 drawing.

Nestled within this iteration of the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern were four, yes four repeating Three-Number Combinations! The Combinations were as follows:

  • 16, 39, 53 (Debuted February 23rd, 2016)
  • 39, 71, MB 15 (Debuted August 19th, 2014)
  • 53, 71, MB 15 (Debuted February 10th, 2015)
  • 16, 47, 53 (Debuted November 11th, 2016)

For those of you who are new to Lottery Binge, or just need a memory jog, the “five-peat” phenomenon was talked about last summer. Is the long Pattern streak going to be a new summer phenomenon? Will the {2-1-1-1-1} tie the record for six consecutive appearances that was established last summer?

Combination Cannon (and Corn)

Compared to this past Wednesday, Saturday night was an explosion of numbers. Lotto Texas started the month of July with the third consecutive appearance of the {3-2-1} Pattern and a repeating Four-Number Combination that hadn’t been seen in over fifteen years. The (usually) comparatively mellow Powerball saw the debut of a Specific Order and three repeating Three-Number Combinations.

Now, about the corn. What does that have to do with today’s post? That shall be answered in a moment, but first, let’s get the July 1st analysis out of the way.

Lotto Texas

The 759th appearance of the {3-2-1} Pattern was brought about by winning numbers 8, 29, 30, 36, 47, and 52.

This Pattern has played in 52% of the 1460 Lotto Texas drawings.

The 1 3 2 Specific Order made its 115th appearance, and has played in 15.2% of the 759 drawings where the {3-2-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 7.88% of all 1460 drawings. Prior to Saturday, this Specific Order was last seen in the June 7th, 2017 drawing.

The Four-Number Combination of the evening was 29, 30, 36, and 47; it made its debut in the February 20th, 2002 drawing.

Fun fact: February 20th, 2002 was a Palindrome Day.

Powerball

Powerball’s {3-1-1-1} Pattern made its 36th appearance with winning numbers 19, 42, 45, 48, 53, and PB 16.

This Pattern has played in 19.8% of the 182 Powerball drawings, and was last seen in the June 21st, 2017 drawing.

Making its sixteenth appearance, the [1-1-3-1] General Order has played in 44.4% of the 36 drawings where the {3-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 8.79% of all 182 drawings. Like the {3-1-1-1} Pattern, this General Order previously played in the June 21st drawing.

The 0 1 1 3 0 1 Specific Order made its world debut, and has now played in 6.25% of the sixteen drawings where the [1-1-3-1] General Order has appeared. This Specific Order has also played in 2.78% of the 36 drawings where the {3-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 0.55% of all 182 drawings.

Powerball’s trio of repeating Three-Number Combinations were the following:

  • 19, 42, 48 (Debuted October 29th, 2016)
  • 48, 53, PB 16 (Debuted March 15th, 2017)
  • 45, 48, PB 16 (Debuted March 25th, 2017)

In contrast to the Lotto Texas repeating Four-Number Combination, these Combinations made their debuts very recently.

Now, the answer to today’s riddle: What does corn have to do with Lottery Binge? Well, the Fourth of July is only a few days away, and regardless of political leanings, people from coast to coast relish in fireworks, a day off from work, and barbecue. No Fourth of July cookout is complete without corn! Yes, corn! Corn on the cob roasted, or simply straight off the stalk, there’s nothing like the taste of organically grown sweet corn.

Sweet, sweet corn

The corn you see here was harvested yesterday afternoon out of my dad’s garden. No pesticides here! He let Mother Nature do the work, and she was mighty kind this year.

Getting back to the lottery side of things, will Lotto Texas continue its {3-2-1} Pattern streak? Will another Specific Order make its debut in Powerball?

Four-Timing Pattern

June ended not with a whimper, but with the sound of fireworks. The June 30th Mega Millions drawing saw the fourth consecutive appearance of the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern. Was there also at least one repeating Three-Number Combination, or was the four-peat the only highlight of the evening?

The {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern made its 160th appearance with winning numbers 10, 38, 51, 55, 64, and MB 6.

This Pattern has played in 41.5% of the 386 Mega Millions drawings.

Now with 36 appearances, the [1-1-2-1-1] General Order has played in 22.5% of the 160 drawings where the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 9.33% of all drawings. This General Order was last seen in the May 30th drawing, exactly one month prior.

Making its ninth appearance, the 1 0 1 2 1 1 Specific Order has played in 25% of the 36 drawings where the [1-1-2-1-1] General Order has appeared, and in approximately 5.63% of the 160 drawings where the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared. This Specific Order has also played in 2.33% of all 386 drawings, and was last seen in the December 16th, 2016 drawing.

There was a repeating Three-Number Combination in the form of 38, 51, and 64. This Combination made its debut in the September 25th, 2015 drawing.

The next Mega Millions drawing will take place on July 4th. Will the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern go for a fifth consecutive appearance?

Doubling Up

Time sure flies by! It’s hard to believe, but we’re almost halfway done with 2017. June 28th was the last night of the month for both Lotto Texas and Powerball. How did they wrap it up? Well, Lotto Texas saw the Pattern and the Specific Order make an encore appearance. On the Powerball side of things, the Pattern and General Order previously played together earlier in the month, and there was a repeating Three-Number Combination.

Lotto Texas

With 758 appearances, the {3-2-1} is still tops among Lotto Texas Patterns. Wednesday’s winning numbers were 17, 24, 27, 41, 45, and 48.

The 1 2 3 Specific Order made its 140th appearance, and has now played in 18.5% of the 758 drawings that the {3-2-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 9.60% of all Lotto Texas drawings. Like the {3-2-1} Pattern, this Specific Order was last seen in the June 24th drawing.

Unlike the last two times the {3-2-1} Pattern has appeared, there were no repeating Four-Number Combinations.

Powerball

The {2-2-1-1} Pattern made its 55th appearance, with winning numbers 29, 37, 46, 53, 68, and PB 8.

Source: lotterytrend-powerball.com.

Making its 21st appearance, the [2-2-1-1] General Order has played in 38.2% of the 55 drawings where the {2-2-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 11.6% of all drawings. This General Order played alongside the {2-2-1-1} Pattern in the June 10th drawing.

Now with three appearances, the 0 0 2 2 1 1 Specific Order has played in approximately 14.3% of the 21 drawings where the [2-2-1-1] General Order has appeared, and 5.45% of the 55 drawings where the {2-2-1-1} Pattern has appeared. This Specific Order has played in 1.66% of all 181 drawings, and was last seen in the May 10th, 2017 drawing.

The May 10th drawing wasn’t just the last time the 0 0 2 2 1 1 Specific Order appeared; it was also the debut of the repeating Three-Number Combination of the evening: 29, 46, PB 8.

Will Saturday’s drawings for Lotto Texas and Powerball be a pre-Fourth fireworks show?

Triple Threats

June’s getting ready to wrap up, and it looks like Mega Millions is ready to go out with a bang! The June 27th drawing brought forth a {2-1-1-1-1} three-peat, and, there were three Three-Number Combinations. Try saying “Three Three-Number Combinations” three times fast.

The 159th appearance of the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern was thanks to numbers 4, 21, 45, 52, 57, and MB 14.

The {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has a way of establishing streaks. One of those streaks was the “six-peat” seen last year during the Rio Olympics. Will Mega Millions end the month with a fourth appearance of the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern?

{2-1-1-1-1} 2: Combination Boogaloo

Ah, summertime. A time of cookouts, parties, and repeats. Yes, repeats. The {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern was so nice, Mega Millions played it twice! Friday night also saw the appearance of a repeating Three-Number Combination.

With 158 appearances, the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern reigned supreme. June 23rd’s winning numbers were 12, 20, 53, 66, 74, and MB 11.
