The Playback Kickback

Can you believe that March is almost here? You probably do, what with February being the shortest month and all. Okay, then. Can you believe that the Lotto Texas jackpot is still holding strong?

For several months, Lotto Texas’s jackpot managed to avoid a reset, and Saturday night’s results forestalled it for at least a few more nights. After the dust settled, a prize worth $48 million was left standing.

Meanwhile, Powerball’s jackpot climbed to $131 million.

The jackpot boost of February 25, 2023 was thanks to the {3-3} Pattern. With winning numbers 1, 4, 15, 26, 28 and 32, this Pattern has now played 172 times.

As February begins to wind down, will that also be the case for the Lotto Texas and Powerball jackpots?

Big Cool Down, Bigger Jackpots

Things feel more messed up these days. Some parts of the Northern Hemisphere feel more like late spring than winter or even early spring, for one. Throw in unnecessary belligerence, cold and flu (and COVID?) season, and the unshakeable feeling of being price gouged, it’s as if things are falling apart. As the human world embroils itself in contradictions, blame games, and measuring contests, the lottery world continues with a routine that has existed for many years. Wednesday night’s results were proof that big gains can be made without bluff and bluster.

February 22, 2023 was a night that showed both Lotto Texas and Powerball taking a calmer approach to jackpot gains. Putting aside the idea of Pattern streaks and dialing back on repeating Combinations pushed their respective jackpots to $47.25 million and $119 million.

Lotto Texas

Lotto Texas and Powerball’s February Fortitude

Winter blues? What winter blues? Winter has been extremely kind to both Lotto Texas and Powerball on the jackpot front. All right, Powerball has had one hiccup, but this lottery’s jackpot has been rising! With the seasons getting ready for their yearly March change-up, these lotteries’ jackpots are, pardon the expression, springing ahead, and with no one to stop them.

Wednesday night was kind to both jackpots. The Lotto Texas prize grew to $44 million with little fanfare. Meanwhile, Powerball’s rowdiness with a double encore pushed the jackpot to $73 million.

Hanging Out in the Same (Jackpot) Neighborhood

Normally, Lotto Texas and Powerball hang out in different crowds. The former lottery tends to be more gracious whenever the jackpot rises. Meanwhile, the latter often goes all out, and isn’t afraid to flirt with the prospect of billion-dollar prizes, or close to that amount. Regardless of methods, it hasn’t escaped our notice that both Lotto Texas and Powerball do have one thing in common lately: the worth of their jackpots!

February 11, 2023 meant another night of growth for Lotto Texas. The return of a Pattern from earlier in the week boosted the jackpot to $41.75 million. Meanwhile, an Australia Play made the jump to $45 million possible for Powerball.

How close will the Lotto Texas and Powerball jackpots remain next week?

The 4-1-1 on Wednesday Night

On Monday night, Powerball was hit with the mighty force of a reset. By way of a {4-1-1} Pattern, the jackpot grew to $34 million Wednesday night. Funny enough, Lotto Texas also saw the {4-1-1} Pattern! That Pattern was how Lotto Texas wound up with a jackpot currently larger than Powerball’s: $41 million. Even though the {4-1-1} Pattern was present in both lotteries, how it played couldn’t be any more different!

Both the {4-1-1} Pattern and the [1-4-1] General Order played December 5, 2022.

A playback was a tempting prospect, but Powerball opted for debuting the 0 0 0 1 4 1 Specific Order, instead. This Specific Order has now played in 7.14% of the 14 drawings where the General Order was [1-4-1]. The 0 0 0 1 4 1 Specific Order has also now played in 4.35% of the 23 drawings where {4-1-1} was the winning Pattern and in 0.12% of all 844 drawings.

Similar Spread

Wednesday’s numbers had a spread of 06:01:05:02. Similarly, the winning numbers of April 18, 2018, 9, 10, 12, 17, 23 and PB 9, had a spread of 01:02:05:06. Note that although the differences between numbers played were the same, their orders, and the numbers that played, were different.

A new Specific Order and a similar spread was just a warm-up! Repeating Four-Number Combination 58, 59, 66, and PB 9 debuted in the February 1, 2023 drawing. That was just one week ago!

Grade A Lotteries

The “A” grade, source of both triumph and anxiety. More “A’s” on a report card means a higher grade point average (and happier parents). An “A” rating at a restaurant means the best food and high-quality service. For lotteries like Lotto Texas and Powerball, an A grade translates to, “Winning the jackpot is going to be a challenge.”

Lately, those who’ve played either or both lotteries have seen how their jackpots kept going up. After February 4, 2023, that didn’t change! No wild plays were needed to boost the Lotto Texas jackpot to $38 million. Meanwhile, Powerball, opting out of a Pattern streak, raised the jackpot to $747 million.

How long can Lotto Texas and Powerball maintain their “A” grade?

The Weird, the Wild, the Lotteries

The world seems to make less sense with each passing day. That is, if it ever made sense. We’re nearly a quarter into the 21st century, and these words fit like a glove: “Weird”, “wild”, and “over the top”. Those words also describe Lotto Texas and Powerball over the past several drawings.

In a bizarre series of events, Lotto Texas, yes, Lotto Texas, continued to have a jackpot that was worth more than Mega Millions’. Wednesday night saw the Lotto Texas jackpot leap to $37.5 million. Meanwhile, Powerball remained the Big Man on Top, with a jackpot that grew to $700 million.
