Australia Play + (Repeating) Combinations = Summer

Memorial Day means many things to those of us residing in Lottery Trend Country. Fallen soldiers are honored, for one. The long weekend kicks off summer vacation for some kids, and a teaser for others. Regardless of what weekend it is, Lotto Texas and Powerball appear to reserve some of their biggest plays for Saturday nights. How did May 27th go? Lotto Texas saw a repeating Four-Number Combination and Powerball had a repeating Three-Number Combination, for one. There was also an Australia Play and a General Order and Specific Order that played together in a previous drawing. Which lottery had what play?

Lotto Texas

In just a week-and-a-half, Lotto Texas saw another Australia Play! The 196th appearance of the {2-2-2} Pattern was marked by winning numbers 1, 16, 25, 34, 50, and 53.

Of course, the 2 2 2 Specific Order also made its 196th appearance. The Australia Play has appeared in 13.5% of the 1450 Lotto Texas drawings, and was last seen May 17th.

It wasn’t enough to have just an Australia Play. Saturday night’s drawing also harbored the repeating Four-Number Combination 16, 34, 50, and 53.

This Combination debuted in the December 19th, 2007 drawing.

Powerball

Although Powerball didn’t see an Australia Play, it did see its most commonly played Pattern. Making its 61st appearance, the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern was represented by winning numbers 5, 10, 28, 55, 67, and PB 9.

Winning Powerball numbers. From lotterytrend-powerball.com.

This Pattern has now played in 35.5% of the 172 Powerball drawings, and previously played May 6th.

With twelve appearances, the [2-1-1-1-1] General Order has played in 19.7% of the 61 drawings where the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 6.98% of all Powerball drawings. Prior to Saturday, this General Order was last seen in the February 22nd drawing.

The 2 1 0 1 1 1 Specific Order made its third appearance, and has now played in 25% of the twelve drawings where the [2-1-1-1-1] General Order has appeared. When looking at the 61 drawings where the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern appeared, the statistic becomes 4.92%, and shrinks to 1.74% when taking all 172 drawings into account. Like the [2-1-1-1-1] General Order, this Specific Order previously played in the February 22nd drawing.

The repeating Three-Number Combination of the evening was 28, 67, and PB 9, and it debuted in the New Year’s Eve 2016 drawing.

Lotto Texas and Powerball ended May with a fireworks show of their own, and it looks like a hot summer is on the way. Onward to June!

Leading Threes

Saturday night’s momentum continued into the May 24th drawings for Lotto Texas and Powerball. Both lotteries saw big plays! One such play came in the form of our dear friends the repeating Combinations. Lotto Texas saw a repeating Four-Number Combination and Powerball had a repeating Three-Number Combination.

And in both Lotto Texas and Powerball, the number three (3) was not in short supply.

Lotto Texas

The not oft-seen {3-3} Pattern played for the 125th time, with winning numbers 11, 13, 17, 48, 51, and 54.

This Pattern has now played in 8.63% of the 1449 Lotto Texas drawings, and previously played in the April 19th, 2017 drawing.

Making its 46th appearance, the 3 0 3 Specific Order has now played in 36.8% of the 125 drawings where the {3-3} Pattern has appeared, and in 3.17% of all drawings. Prior to Wednesday night’s drawing, this Specific Order was last seen in the April 8th, 2017 drawing.

The repeating Four-Number Combination of the evening was 13, 48, 51, and 54.

This Combination made its debut in the January 27th, 2010 drawing.

Powerball

Right off the heels of Saturday’s drawing, the {3-1-1-1} Pattern made an encore appearance. This time, the winning numbers were 28, 32, 33, 38, 62, and PB 15.

Now with 33 appearances, this Pattern has played in 19.3% of the 171 Powerball drawings.

Making its twelfth appearance, the [1-3-1-1] General Order has played in 36.4% of the 33 drawings where the {3-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 7.02% of all drawings. This General Order was last seen in the April 26th, 2017 drawing.

With three appearances, the 0 1 3 0 1 1 Specific Order has now played in 25% of the 12 drawings where the [1-3-1-1] General Order has appeared, and approximately 9.09% of the 33 drawings where the {3-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared. When looking at all 171 Powerball drawings, this statistic becomes 1.75%. This Specific Order was last seen in the early days of Lottery Binge: June 1st, 2016, to be exact.

The repeating Three-Number Combination was 28, 33, and 38.

The debut for this Combination was in the February 15th, 2017 drawing a little over three months ago.

Looks like Lotto Texas and Powerball are ready to kick it into high gear for summer. Will the lead-in to the Memorial Day weekend be a fireworks show or will things mellow out?

Ain’t No Party Like a Combo Party

Saturday nights for Lotto Texas and Powerball are usually busy, and May 20th was one of those nights. Repeating Three and Four-Number Combinations was the theme, and both lotteries got to take part. The debut dates ranged from just last month to the beginning of the millennium*!

*Or end of the millennium, depending on who you ask.

Lotto Texas

The {3-2-1} Pattern made its 751st appearance with winning numbers 8, 9, 15, 20, 38, and 39.

Winning Texas Lottery numbers. From lotterytrend.com.

This Pattern remains the most commonly seen in Lotto Texas, now appearing in 51.9% of the 1448 Lotto Texas drawings. Prior to Saturday’s drawing, the {3-2-1} Pattern was last seen a few weeks ago in the April 26th drawing.

Making its 136th appearance, the 3 1 2 Specific Order has now played in 18.1% of the 751 drawings where the {3-2-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 9.39% of all Lotto Texas drawings. This Specific Order previously played in the March 18th, 2017 drawing.

The grandest part of Saturday night’s drawing was the repeat appearances of four Four-Number Combinations!

  • 15, 20, 38, 39 (Debuted April 19th, 2008)
  • 8, 15, 38, 39 (Debuted July 29th, 2009)
  • 8, 9, 15, 39 (Debuted September 23rd, 2000*)
  • 9, 15, 20, 39 (Debuted April 8th, 2009)

Lotto Texas saw plenty of repeating Combination action. Did Powerball see just as much?

Powerball

With winning numbers 5, 22, 45, 47, 54, and PB 3, the {3-1-1-1} Pattern made its 32nd appearance.

This Pattern has now played in 18.8% of the 170 Powerball drawings, and was last seen in the April 29th drawing.

Now with 13 appearances, the [1-1-3-1] General Order has played in roughly 40.63% of the 32 drawings where the {3-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 7.65% of all Powerball drawings. This General Order previously played in the April 5th drawing.

The 1 1 0 3 0 1 Specific Order made its second appearance. With that said, this Specific Order has played in 15.4% of the 13 drawings where the [1-1-3-1] General Order has appeared, 6.25% of the 32 drawings where the {3-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 1.18% of all drawings. Interestingly, this Specific Order made its debut in the same April 5th drawing that the [1-1-3-1] General Order was last seen.

The repeating Three-Number Combination was 5,22,45, fresh off the heels of its debut just last month in the April 15th drawing.

Powerball may not have seen as much in the way of repeating Combinations, but it’s not often that the General Order and the Specific Order share the same “last seen” date.

With the drumbeats of summer vacation growing ever louder in Lottery Trend Country, what will the week ahead have in store? Will there be more repeating Three and Four-Number Combinations or will there be a mellowing out. Memorial Day is around the corner, after all.

Numbers on Walkabout

It seems that Australia Plays, and psyching people out with plays that seem to be Australia Plays, is now a thing. Lotto Texas saw a true Australia Play in the May 17th drawing, as well as two repeating Four-Number Combinations. Powerball seemed to follow Mega Millions in the whole “Looking like an Australia Play, but not” bit. Well, almost. Out of the Pattern, General Order, and Specific Order, only two of these made an encore.

Lotto Texas

Wednesday’s winning numbers were 16, 17, 29, 31, 37, and 51, marking the 195th appearance of both the {2-2-2} Pattern and the 2 2 2 Specific Order.

Winning Texas Lottery numbers. From lotterytrend.com.

The Australia Play has now played in 13.5% of the 1447 Lotto Texas drawings, and was last seen a few weeks ago in the April 29th drawing.

The repeating Four-Number Combinations were

  • 16, 17, 31, 37 (Debuted April 15th, 2009) and
  • 16, 29, 31, 51 (Debuted January 5th, 2008)

Powerball

Right off the heels of this past Saturday’s drawing, the {2-2-1-1} Pattern made an encore appearance! The winning numbers this time around were 4, 11, 39, 45, 48, and PB 09.

Winning Powerball numbers. From lotterytrend-powerball.com.

Now with 53 appearances, this Pattern has played in 31.4% of the 169 Powerball drawings.

The [2-1-2-1] General Order also made an encore appearance in Wednesday’s drawing. Statistics-wise, this General order has now played in 32.1% of the 53 drawings where the {2-2-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in approximately 10.1% of all drawings.

Earlier, I had said that Powerball almost followed Mega Millions in the “Looking like an Australia Play, but not” category. If you remember this past Saturday’s Lottery Binge, the May 12th Mega Millions showed the Pattern, General Order, and Specific Order had all appeared together before. Thing is, the Pattern, General Order, and Specific Order were not the same!

In Powerball’s situation, while the Pattern and General Order had made an encore appearance, the Specific Order did not. That’s because Wednesday’s drawing saw the debut of the 2 0 1 2 0 1 Specific Order. This has now played in 5.88% of the 17 drawings where the [2-1-2-1] General Order has appeared, 1.89% of the 53 drawings where the {2-2-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and 0.59% of all Powerball drawings.

Looking ahead to Saturday, will the {2-2-1-1} Pattern go for a three-peat? Will there be another Australia Play?

Spreading the (Numbers) Love

Mother’s Day is that special day when mothers are cherished and remembered. Cards, gifts, and special meals are just some of the ways we celebrate. Lotto Texas and Powerball decided to spread the love on May 13th with encore appearances of Wednesday’s Patterns for both lotteries. Any commonalities between them end at this point, for Lotto Texas had most of the action. A repeating Four-Number Combination made its round, and something was spreading.

Lotto Texas

The {4-2} Pattern made an encore, with winning numbers 12, 17, 24, 25, 27, and 28.

Winning Texas Lottery numbers. From lotterytrend.com.

Now with 164 appearances, this Pattern has played in 11.3% of the 1446 Lotto Texas drawings.

The Specific Order of the evening was 2 4 0, making its 28th appearance. This Specific Order has now played in 17.1% of the 164 drawings where the {4-2} Pattern has appeared, and in 1.94% of the 1446 drawings. Prior to Saturday, the 2 4 0 Specific Order was last seen three months ago, in the February 4th drawing.

Now, this encore of the {4-2} Pattern was a bit different than others. See, there was a similar spread of 07:05:01:01:02 that came with the July 30th, 2016 drawing. The winning numbers were 1, 8, 13, 14, 15, and 17. Given Saturday night’s numbers, the spread was 05:07:01:02:01. The thing about similar spreads is that even though the differences between numbers in the drawings were the same, the orders were different.

There’s one more thing to discuss, and that’s the repeating Four-Number Combination! The Combination consisting of 17, 14, 25, and 28 made its debut over nine years ago in the November 7th, 2007 drawing.

Powerball

As mentioned earlier, Powerball also saw the Pattern from Wednesday night make an encore. The 52nd appearance of the {2-2-1-1} Pattern was marked by winning numbers 17, 20, 32, 63, 68, and PB 19.

Winning Powerball numbers. From lotterytrend-powerball.com.

This Pattern has now played in approximately 31% of all 168 Powerball drawings.

The [2-1-2-1] General Order made its 16th appearance, and has now played in 30.8% of the 52 drawings where the {2-2-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 9.52% of all drawings. This General Order was last seen in the May 3rd drawing just a couple of weeks ago.

Making its second appearance, the 0 2 1 0 2 1 Specific Order has now played in 12.5% of the 16 drawings where the [2-1-2-1] General Order has appeared. This becomes 3.85% when looking at the 52 drawings where the {2-2-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and 1.19% when looking at all 168 drawings. The 0 2 1 0 2 1 Specific Order made its debut early last year in the February 3rd drawing.

Looking to the week ahead, will there be more similar spreads? Will there be a three-peat in either Lotto Texas or Powerball?

May 3rd With a Side of Repeating Combinations

Well, after a festive weekend, it wouldn’t seem out of the ordinary for Lotto Texas and Powerball to mellow out. Of course, that didn’t mean there weren’t any big plays on May 10th. Far from it, in fact. Wednesday night’s results in both lotteries made a call back to the recent past.  As in, “Last week” recent past.

Lotto Texas

No, the {4-1-1} Pattern did not make an encore appearance. However, the {4-2} Pattern, having played exactly one week prior in the May 3rd drawing, made its 163rd appearance. The winning numbers were 21, 23, 27, 31, 38, and 46.

Winning Texas Lottery numbers. From lotterytrend.com.

This Pattern has now played in 11.3% of the 1445 Lotto Texas drawings.

How exciting it would’ve been if everything in Lotto Texas had previously played in May 3rd’s drawing! Alas, that was not so. The 0 4 2 Specific Order, now with 32 appearances, was last seen in the February 11th, 2017 drawing. This Specific Order has now played in 19.6% of the 163 drawings where the {4-2} Pattern has appeared, and 2.21% of all 1445 drawings.

The biggest draw of the evening in Lotto Texas was the repeat appearances of two Four-Number Combinations. These Combinations were

  • 23, 31, 38, and 46 (Debuted December 18th, 2010) and
  • 21, 23, 27, and 38 (Debuted February 11th, 2009)

Powerball

As it was in Lotto Texas, the Pattern was the only callback to May 3rd.  The 51st appearance of the {2-2-1-1} Pattern was due to winning numbers 29, 31, 46, 56, 62, and PB 8.

Winning Powerball numbers. From lotterytrend-powerball.com.

The {2-2-1-1} Pattern has played in 30.5% of the 167 Powerball drawings.

The [2-2-1-1] General Order made its 19th appearance, and was last seen in the February 4th, 2017 drawing. With that said, this General Order has played in 37.3% of the 51 drawings where the {2-2-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 11.4% of all Powerball drawings.

Making its second appearance, the 0 0 2 2 1 1 Specific Order has now played in 10.5% of the 19 drawings where the [2-2-1-1] General Order has appeared, 3.92% of the 51 drawings where the {2-2-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in approximately 1.2% of all 167 drawings. The 0 0 2 2 1 1 Specific Order made its debut in the September 28th, 2016 drawing.

There were no repeating Three-Number Combinations.

Will there be a Pattern encore in either Lotto Texas or Powerball? Will a Specific Order make its debut?

Post-Cinco de Mayo Combo Mambo

The calendar may have said that Cinco de Mayo was over, but that didn’t mean Lotto Texas and Powerball were going to be reserved! May 6th was a Saturday after all, and both lotteries saw some big plays. Lotto Texas saw repeating Four-Number Combinations and Powerball saw one repeating Three-Number Combination. Before getting to these goodies in more detail, we must of course run through the “standard” analyses.

Lotto Texas

Saturday’s winning numbers were 14, 25, 38, 44, 46, and 48, making this the 158th appearance of the {4-1-1} Pattern.

Winning Texas Lottery numbers. From lotterytrend.com.

This Pattern has now played in 10.9% of the 1444 drawings, and was last seen in the March 29th drawing a little over a month ago.

The 1 1 4 Specific Order made its 53rd appearance, and has now played in 33.5% of the 158 drawings where the {4-1-1} Pattern has appeared. This Specific Order has also played in 3.67% of all Lotto Texas drawings. Prior to Saturday, the 1 1 4 Specific Order previously played in the October 12th, 2016 drawing.

This all gave way to the following two repeating Four-Number Combinations:

  • 25, 44, 46, 48 (Debuted November 29th, 2006) and
  • 38, 44, 46, 48 (Debuted September 6th, 2006)

Winning Powerball numbers. From lotterytrend-powerball.com.

This Pattern has now played in 36.1% of the 166 Powerball drawings, and previously played in the April 22nd, 2017 drawing.

Making its 14th appearance, the [1-1-2-1-1] General Order has played in approximately 23.33% of the 60 drawings where the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared. When looking at all 166 drawings, this statistic becomes 8.43%. This General Order was last seen in the April 19th, 2017 drawing.

Now having appeared five times, the 1 1 2 0 1 1 Specific Order has played in 35.7% of the 14 drawings where the [1-1-2-1-1] General Order has appeared. This Specific Order has also played in 8.33% of the 60 drawings where the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 3.01% of all 166 drawings. To see when the 1 1 2 0 1 1 Specific Order was last seen, we need to look at the March 29th, 2017 drawing.

The repeating Three-Number Combination 11, 41, 59 made its debut in the May 25th, 2016 drawing.

Will there be more repeating Four-Number and Three-Number Combinations next week? Will either the {4-1-1} or the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern be bold enough to go for an encore?

Number Storm

The steady rain from Wednesday night turned into a downpour Saturday. What sprouted after the rains of April 29th were big plays for both Lotto Texas and Powerball.

Lotto Texas

One of the big events in Lotto Texas was the return of the Australia Play! As is the nature of such a play, the {2-2-2} Pattern and the 2 2 2 Specific Order made their 194th appearance. The winning numbers were 2, 5, 25, 35, 41, and 53.

Winning Texas Lottery numbers. From lotterytrend.com.

Prior to Saturday night, the last time an Australia Play came about was in the February 22nd, 2017 drawing. The Australia Play has now appeared in 13.5% of 1442 Lotto Texas drawings.

Saturday’s Australia Play also harbored two repeating Four-Number Combinations. These were

  • 2, 35, 41, 53 (Debuted August 6th, 2011) and
  • 2, 25, 35, 41 (Debuted July 5th, 2014)

The {3-1-1-1} Pattern made an encore appearance, with winning numbers 22, 23, 24, 45, 62, and PB 5.

Now with 31 appearances, this Pattern has played in 18.9% of the 164 Powerball drawings.

The [3-1-1-1] General Order made its eighth appearance, and has played in 25.8% of the 31 drawings where the {3-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared. This General Order has also played in 4.88% of all 164 drawings. The [3-1-1-1] had previously played in the January 11th, 2017 drawing.

Getting into specifics, the 0 3 0 1 1 1 Specific Order made its third appearance. This Specific Order has played in 37.5% of the 8 drawings where the [3-1-1-1] General Order appeared, 9.68% of the 31 drawings where the {3-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 1.83% of all Powerball drawings. Prior to Saturday, the 0 3 0 1 1 1 Specific Order previously played in the November 19th, 2016 drawing.

Last, but certainly not least, a Three-Number Combination made a repeat appearance! The Combination was 22, 45, and PB 5.

Repeating Three-Number Combination highlighted. From lotterytrend-powerball.com.

This Combination made its debut in the November 14th, 2015 drawing.

With April behind us and with May on the way, will a trend of big plays be established for Lotto Texas and Powerball?

3-2-New

Any night where a Five-Number Combination repeats in Lotto Texas is going to be a tough act to follow. After this past Saturday, it wouldn’t have been unusual for Wednesday night to have been much quieter. If by “quiet”, it meant the second appearance of an uncommonly seen Pattern in the space of 11 days in Lotto Texas, or the debut of a Specific Order in Powerball, then April 19th had a quiet night, alright.

Lotto Texas

The not-so-often-seen {3-3} Pattern made its 124th appearance, with winning numbers 3, 4, 13, 22, 23, and 32.

Winning Texas Lottery numbers

With 1439 Lotto Texas drawings to date, this Pattern has played in 8.62% of them, and was last seen in the April 8th drawing about a week-and-a-half ago.

Now with 38 appearances, the 3 3 0 Specific Order has played in 30.6% of the 124 drawings where the {3-3} Pattern has appeared. This becomes 2.64% when looking at all 1439 drawings. To see when the 3 3 0 Specific Order previously played, refer to the October 22nd, 2016 drawing.

Another big development in Lotto Texas was the repeat appearance of two Four-Number Combinations. The Combinations this time around were

  • 3, 4, 23, 32, which debuted on December 17th, 2008 and
  • 3, 4, 22, 23, which debuted on November 29th, 2014
The repeating Four-Number Combinations in red.

Powerball

Powerball managed to take some of Lotto Texas’s thunder Wednesday night. The {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern made an encore appearance, with winning numbers 1, 19, 37, 40, 52, and PB 15.

Winning Powerball numbers.

With 58 appearances to date, this Pattern has played in 36.02% of the 161 drawings. Recall that this Pattern previously played in this past Saturday’s drawing.

Making its 13th appearance, the [1-1-2-1-1] General Order has played in 22.4% of the 58 drawings where the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 8.07% of all 161 drawings. Prior to Wednesday, the [1-1-2-1-1] General Order previously played in the April 8th drawing 11 days ago.

Perhaps the biggest development in Powerball was the debut of the 1 1 2 1 0 1 Specific Order. This Specific Order has now played in 7.69% of the 13 drawings where the [1-1-2-1-1] General Order appeared. When taking the 58 drawings where the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern appeared, this becomes 1.72%, and 0.62% overall.

Will there be a major upset in one of the Saturday night drawings, or will it be a “normal” night?

Golden Explosion

The night before Easter was a busy one, with Lotto Texas seeing the lion’s share of the action. There was a Pattern encore, and a repeat appearance of a Five-Number Combination. The last time such an occurrence was covered on our blog was over six months ago. Talk about uncommon!

Lotto Texas

Right off the heels of Wednesday’s drawing, the {3-2-1} Pattern made its 748th appearance in the April 15th drawing. The winning numbers were 2, 11, 36, 40, 42, and 53.

Winning Lotto Texas numbers.

This reigning Pattern has now played in 52% of the 1438 Lotto Texas drawings so far.

Making its 111th appearance, the 2 1 3 Specific Order has now played in 14.8% of the 748 drawings where the {3-2-1} Pattern has appeared. This statistic becomes 7.72% when taking all 1438 drawings into account. Prior to Saturday, this Specific Order previously played in the January 28th, 2017 drawing.

The big draw of the evening was the repeat appearance of the Five-Number Combination 2, 36, 40, 42, and 53.

Five-Number Combination highlighted in red box.

Now, the key thing to remember when dealing with a Five-Number Combination is that there are five Four-Number Combinations that repeat as well. The Combinations were as follows:

  1. ) 36, 40, 42, 53
  2. ) 2, 40, 42, 53
  3. ) 2, 36, 42, 53
  4. ) 2, 36 50, 53
  5. ) 2, 36, 40, 42
The resulting Four-Number Combinations (blue box)

All of the above Combinations made their debut in the August 28th, 2002 drawing. To put things in perspective, Wikipedia was in its infancy and cell phones were becoming more affordable. Smart phones? Forget about ‘em.

 Powerball

In contrast to Lotto Texas, Powerball didn’t see any repeating Combinations, nor did its {3-2-1} Pattern make an encore. Wouldn’t that have been something? However, the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern retained its position as the most commonly seen Pattern. The 57th appearance was marked by winning numbers 5, 22, 26, 45, 61, and PB 13.
