March, so they say, comes roaring in like a lion and goes out like a lamb. Mega Millions lived up to the saying March 2023! This lottery started the month with its most common Pattern and four repeating Three-Number Combinations. The number of repeating Three-Number Combinations was drastically reduced Friday night, and Mega Millions opted for a less “outgoing” Pattern, but that didn’t hinder jackpot growth. As March made way for April, the jackpot grew to $385 million!
General Lottery Analysis
With winning numbers 16, 26, 27, 42, 61 and MB 23, the {3-1-1-1} Pattern made its 163rd appearance in the March 31, 2023 drawing.
The [3-1-1-1] General Order, now with 62 appearances, has played in 38% of the 163 drawings where {3-1-1-1} was the winning Pattern. Once all 867 drawings have been taken into consideration, this General Order has played 7.15% of the time. August 9, 2022 was the last time the [3-1-1-1] General Order was seen.
Now with 11 appearances, the 031011 Specific Order has played in 17.7% of the 62 drawings where the General Order was [3-1-1-1]. This Specific Order has also played in 6.75% of the 163 drawings where {3-1-1-1} was the winning Pattern and in 1.27% of all 867 drawings. Prior to Friday night, the 031011 Specific Order played May 3, 2022.
Three-Number Combinations
Repeating Three-Number Combination 26, 27 and MB 23 debuted August 18, 2020.
Will April keep the Mega Millions jackpot large and strong, or will it be a month of resetting?
On Monday night, Powerball was hit with the mighty force of a reset. By way of a {4-1-1} Pattern, the jackpot grew to $34 million Wednesday night. Funny enough, Lotto Texas also saw the {4-1-1} Pattern! That Pattern was how Lotto Texas wound up with a jackpot currently larger than Powerball’s: $41 million. Even though the {4-1-1} Pattern was present in both lotteries, how it played couldn’t be any more different!

Four-Number Combinations
There was a repeating Four-Number Combination, just not in Lotto Texas.
Powerball
General Lottery Analysis
Powerball’s {4-1-1} Pattern made its 23rd appearance with 52, 58, 59, 64, 66 and PB 9.
This Pattern has now played in 2.73% of the 844 Powerball drawings.

Both the {4-1-1} Pattern and the [1-4-1] General Order played December 5, 2022.
A playback was a tempting prospect, but Powerball opted for debuting the 000141 Specific Order, instead. This Specific Order has now played in 7.14% of the 14 drawings where the General Order was [1-4-1]. The 000141 Specific Order has also now played in 4.35% of the 23 drawings where {4-1-1} was the winning Pattern and in 0.12% of all 844 drawings.

Four-Number Combination
A new Specific Order and a similar spread was just a warm-up! Repeating Four-Number Combination 58, 59, 66, and PB 9 debuted in the February 1, 2023 drawing. That was just one week ago!
Three-Number Combinations
Naturally, the repeating Four-Number Combination had four repeating Three-Number Combinations buried inside:
58, 59, 66 (Debuted February 1, 2023)
58, 59, PB 9 (Debuted July 18, 2020 and previously played February 1, 2023)
58, 66, PB 9 (Debuted February 1, 2023)
59, 66, PB 9 (Debuted May 3, 2017 and previously played February 1, 2023)
Lotto Texas and Powerball may be different lotteries, but they aren’t above operating on the same wavelength. Is Saturday night going to be another “two great minds think alike” scenario, or will they take different paths?
Mega Millions got slapped with a reset Friday night. That left the lottery world with two large jackpots. After January 14, 2023, two large jackpots were still present. In fact, both Lotto Texas and Powerball’s jackpots dwarfed the Mega Millions one! Lotto Texas and Powerball’s respective jackpots grew to $31.25 million and $416 million.

Three-Number Combinations
There were no repeating Three-Number Combinations.
Of course, Lotto Texas and Powerball’s jackpots will have their date with the reset slap. Will Monday night buy them more time, or will that be the night when they come tumbling down?
With another Christmas come and gone, Lotto Texas and Powerball have set their sights on the future. In a few days, it’ll be 2023, and if what we’ve seen so far this week is any indication, these lotteries don’t plan on ending the year quietly!
December 28, 2022 featured more madness with a Pattern three-peat and similar spread. Those, along with the joys of repeating Combinations, gave the Lotto Texas and Powerball jackpots hearty boosts to $26.5 million and $246 million, respectively.
Lotto Texas
General Lottery Analysis
The {3-2-1} Pattern three-peat was made possible by winning numbers 8, 13, 16, 23, 27 and 52. This Pattern has now played 1112 times.

Remember that when dealing with a similar spread, the differences between numbers are the same, but their orders (and the numbers played), are different.
Four-Number Combinations
Even with a similar spread, there was enough room for a couple of repeating Four-Number Combinations:
The {2-2-1-1} Pattern made its 238th appearance with winning numbers 26, 32, 38, 45, 56 and PB 1.
This Pattern has now played in 28.8% of the 826 Powerball drawings and was last seen November 23, 2022.

Prior to Wednesday night, the 012201 Specific Order played October 26, 2022.
Three-Number Combinations
Four-repeating Three-Number Combinations were out and about:
After a month of going nuts over repeating Combinations, Lotto Texas and Powerball may going for another approach. That approach, dear readers, is the art of the spread.
December may have just started, but there were hints of change this past Wednesday night. A similar approach happened Saturday night for one lottery while the other went with repeating Combinations. Regardless of approach, both Lotto Texas and Powerball saw their respective jackpots grow to $19 million and $89 million.
Lotto Texas
General Lottery Analysis
The Australia Play returned for the December 3, 2022 Lotto Texas drawing with winning numbers 13, 15, 22, 32, 44 and 45. Both the {2-2-2} Pattern and the 222 Specific Order have played 295 times.
An Australia Play has been featured in 14.1% of the 2093 Lotto Texas drawings and was last seen November 23, 2022.
Similar Spread
Lotto Texas mastered the exact art of a spread earlier in the week. Although that wasn’t present Saturday night, something similar did take place. Saturday’s winning numbers had a spread of 02:07:10:12:01. Similarly, the winning numbers from March 8, 2014, 18, 25, 35, 47, 49 and 50, had a spread of 07:10:12:02:01. Prior to Saturday night, the 203001 Specific Order played April 15, 2020.
Three-Number Combinations
Even though Powerball cut down on repeating Three-Number Combinations, there was still room for three:
Both Lotto Texas and Powerball’s jackpots continue to soar, and the art of the spread seems to be making headway. Still, it’s early yet. We’ll have to see if more similar and/or exact spreads are in the cards for these lotteries, or if they’ll abandon them like fruitcake.
Lottery-wise, Wednesday nights are crowded. Rather than one lottery, two are vying for attention and adoration of players far and wide. Even as people are caught up in the allure of becoming an (almost) overnight millionaire, there’s an organized madness behind the scenes. Lotto Texas and Powerball, from their quietest nights to their biggest blowouts, embrace it willingly. A cold Wednesday night in mid-November is just as good as any.
November 16, 2022 was the night for “organized madness”. One lottery embraced the wonders of a similar spread while the other flirted with a repeating Combination that played twice before. Regardless of the path that was taken, both Lotto Texas and Powerball’s respective jackpots grew to $15.25 million and $93 million.

The March 10, 2010 drawing featured winning numbers 36, 42, 47, 48, 52 and 54 with a spread of 06:05:01:04:02. Three-Number Combinations
Powerball’s love for repeating Three-Number Combinations was so great that one played twice before!
Greetings, Lotterytrend fans! Romulun Harris here. Great changes came about in the lottery world Saturday night. Lotto Texas, lest it start to think too highly of itself, was knocked back down to earth. Naturally, the jackpot reset to $5 million. The greatest shift was in Powerball. Out of the madness of an Australia Play came a similar spread, an entourage of repeating Three-Number Combinations, and a jackpot that grew to $238 million.

Powerball
General Lottery Analysis
Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, and Powerball decided to take a cue from Lotto Texas with an Australia Play of its own. Thanks to 5, 25, 36, 51, 61 and PB 1, the {1-1-1-1-1-1} Pattern, [1-1-1-1-1-1] General Order, and the 111111 Specific Order made their 48th appearance.
An Australia Play has been featured in 6.14% of the 782 Powerball drawings and was last seen August 22, 2022.
Similar Spread
“Grand” best described September 17th’s Australia Play, and what better demonstration than a similar spread? Saturday night’s numbers had a spread of 20:11:15:10. Similarly, the September 2, 2017 drawing had a spread of 15:20:11:10. That night, the winning numbers were 6, 21, 41, 52, 62 and PB 26. Although the differences between numbers were the same, the orders in which the numbers played, and the numbers themselves, were different.
Three-Number Combinations
All right, all right, there was another grand event that came from Saturday night’s Australia Play. Can you say four repeating Three-Number Combinations?
As one lottery flirts with the possibility of a billion-dollar jackpot, two lotteries proved they were just as worthy of attention. Both Lotto Texas and Powerball saw a shakeup Saturday night. Lotto Texas, ever graceful, took a chance with an uncommon Pattern. The payoff was a jackpot that grew to $8 million. On the Powerball side, the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern streak came to an end and with it, a jackpot that grew to $130 million.
