Mega Millions isn’t the only lottery with a booming jackpot! Lotto Texas and Powerball may have gotten on board a little later, but their jackpots faced no obstacles this summer. September 15, 2021 was another obstacle-free night for them. The ever-so-dignified Lotto Texas jackpot ascended to $17 million, the highest it has been in a while. Meanwhile, Powerball strutted onward to $457 million.

With winning numbers 15, 21, 27, 28, 32 and 36, the {5-1} Pattern made its 67^th appearance.

There have now been 1903 Lotto Texas drawings, and this Pattern has now played 3.52% of the time. We last saw the {5-1} Pattern July 3, 2021.

Now with 18 appearances, the 1 5 0 Specific Order has played in 26.7% of the 67 drawings where {5-1} was the winning Pattern. Once all 625 drawings have been taken into consideration, this General Order has played 9.2% of the time. We last saw the [2-1-1-1-1] General Order July 17, 2021.

Now with 13 appearances, the 2 1 0 1 1 1 Specific Order has played in 21% of the 62 drawings where the General Order was [2-1-1-1-1]. This Specific Order has also played in 5.42% of the 240 drawings where {2-1-1-1-1} was the winning Pattern and in 2.08% of all 625 drawings. There have now been 589 Powerball drawings, and this Pattern has played 38% of the time. We last saw the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern May 12, 2021.

The [2-1-1-1-1] General Order, now with 59 appearances, has played in 26.3% of the 224 drawings where {2-1-1-1-1} was the winning Pattern. Once all 589 drawings have been taken into consideration, this General Order has played 10% of the time. Prior to Wednesday night, the [2-1-1-1-1] General Order played April 3, 2021.

Now with 17 appearances, the 2 1 1 0 1 1 Specific Order played in 28.8% of the 59 drawings where the General Order was [2-1-1-1-1]. This Specific Order has also played in 7.59% of the 224 drawings where {2-1-1-1-1} was the winning Pattern and in 2.89% of all 589 drawings. The 2 1 1 0 1 1 Specific Order was last seen March 20, 2021.

Wait a minute, you wonder. What’s the big deal about this {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern? Well, for starters, it prevented a {2-2-1-1} Pattern streak. There was also, get this, a repeating Four-Number Combination!

What mischief will Lotto Texas and Powerball get up to Saturday night? Will Lotto Texas continue to embrace its wild side, and will the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern make an encore?

Of the many lottery-related phenomena covered in Lottery Binge, the playback is quite the character. It shows up when the Pattern, General Order (not applicable to Lotto Texas), and Specific Order all played together on a previous date. The obvious one is the Australia Play, where the Pattern, General Order (again, not applicable to Lotto Texas), and Specific Order were the same, like the {2-2-2} Pattern and the 2 2 2 Specific Order in Lotto Texas. What about the playbacks that aren’t so obvious?

All this week, there have been several posts on the playback. At least one was seen in Mega Millions recently and our last Lotto Texas post covered an Australia Play. The playback seen on April 13, 2019 brought one Lotto Texas winner $15.75 million. This knocked the prize down to $5 million going into Wednesday.

Powerball’s jackpot, meanwhile, rose quietly to $118 million.

With winning numbers 1, 4, 10, 14, 15, and 26, the {5-1} Pattern made its 60^th appearance.

Given the 1646 Lotto Texas drawings to date, this uncommonly seen Pattern has played 3.65% of the time.

Now with ten appearances, the 5 1 0 Specific Order has played in roughly 16.667% of the 60 drawings where {5-1} was the winning Pattern. Once all 1646 drawings have been taken into consideration, this Specific Order has played 0.61% of the time.

Both the {5-1} Pattern and the 5 1 0 Specific Order were last seen March 23, 2019.

The lone repeating Four-Number Combination, 1, 10, 14, and 15, debuted in the September 5, 2001 drawing.

Alright, Powerball wasn’t entirely quiet. As a playback happened in Lotto Texas, there were rumblings of a Pattern streak. The {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern went for the three-peat with winning numbers 4, 17, 26, 32, 49, and PB 10, bringing its number of appearances up to 134.

Of the 368 Powerball drawings, this Pattern has played 36.4% of the time.

Not only did the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern make a third consecutive appearance, the [1-2-1-1-1] made an encore as well! With its 36^th appearance, this General Order has played in 26.9% of the 134 drawings where {2-1-1-1-1} was the winning Pattern and in 9.78% of all 368 drawings.

Both the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern and the [1-2-1-1-1] General Order were last seen April 10, 2019.

Now with four appearances, the 1 2 1 1 0 1 Specific Order has played in 11.1% of the 36 drawings where the General Order was [1-2-1-1-1]. This Specific Order has also played in 2.99% of the 134 drawings where {2-1-1-1-1} was the winning Pattern and in 1.09% of all 368 drawings. Prior to Saturday night, the 1 2 1 1 0 1 Specific Order played August 5, 2017.

There don’t appear to be any “monstrous” jackpots going into next week. The {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern in Powerball is just as fond of Pattern streaks as the one in “sister” Mega Millions, so it’s something to keep an eye for. Will that Pattern streak solidify Wednesday night, or will another Pattern take the reins?
