Lotto Texas and Powerball’s Weekend Wind Down

For those of us with traditional M-F, 9-to-5 jobs, the weekend can be a welcome breath of fresh air. Whether going into the office, working from home, or a mix of the two, everyone needs time to explore, to unwind, to chill. The act of relaxing is especially important after a busy week, for both man and lottery alike.

Lotto Texas’s reputation of being the most relaxed of the lotteries held strong Saturday night. There was no need for flashy plays to push the jackpot to $10.25 million. Powerball, however, was another story. After producing two repeating Four-Number Combinations in the span of a week, the glamour wore off some. Nonetheless, the beast of a jackpot remained. Taking it easy boosted the jackpot to $421 million.

The Thing About a Repeating Four-Number Combination Spring Fling

Novelty and spring go hand in hand. Although the flowers have since bloomed and everything is ever greener, spring is an excellent time to try new things. Take Powerball for instance. Did you know that Powerball likes repeating Four-Number Combinations now? Oh sure, it plays with the idea from time to time, but Powerball is really into them lately!

Barely half a week went by before a repeating Four-Number Combination popped up in Powerball. This, among other things, fueled the jackpot’s growth to $400 million. But, before we get to Powerball and the madness a repeating Four-Number Combination wrought, there’s the matter of Lotto Texas. This ever-patient lottery’s jackpot graciously crossed the $10 million jackpot threshold, and this is where we begin our analysis for April 20, 2022.

Lotto Texas

General Lottery Analysis

With winning numbers 5, 13, 15, 34, 38 and 48, the {3-2-1} Pattern made its 1053rd appearance.

Four-Number Combinations

Lotto Texas took another break from repeating Four-Number Combinations.

Powerball

General Lottery Analysis

The madness in Powerball was thanks to the {3-1-1-1} Pattern, with winning numbers 20, 30, 45, 55, 56 and PB 14. This Pattern has now played 120 times.

The tip of the iceberg. Source: lotterytrend-powerball.com.

There have now been 718 Powerball drawings, and this Pattern has played 16.7% of the time. We last saw the {3-1-1-1} Pattern February 16, 2022.

The [1-1-3-1] General Order, now with 42 appearances, has played in 35% of the 120 drawings where {3-1-1-1} was the winning Pattern. Once all 718 drawings have been taken into consideration, this General Order has played 5.85% of the time. June 19, 2021 was the last time this General Order was seen.

Now with six appearances, the 0 1 1 3 0 1 Specific Order has played in 14.3% of the 42 drawings where the General Order was [1-1-3-1]. This Specific Order has also played in 5% of the 120 drawings where {3-1-1-1} was the winning Pattern and in 0.84% of all 718 drawings. Prior to Wednesday night, the 0 1 1 3 0 1 Specific Order played March 3, 2021.

Four-Number Combination

The madness that came with a repeating Four-Number Combination was twofold. First, the Combination itself: 45, 55, 56 and PB 14 debuted May 12, 2018.

The beginning of Powerball’s madness! Source: lotterytrend-powerball.com.

Three-Number Combinations

The second part of the madness, of course, was the aftermath. After the repeating Four-Number Combination made its rounds, four repeating Three-Number Combinations were left in its wake:

  • 55, 56, PB 14
  • 45, 56, PB 14
  • 45, 55, PB 14
  • 45, 55, 56

All save that last Combination debuted in the earlier-mentioned May 12, 2018 drawing. Repeating Four-Number Combination 45, 55 and 56 was last seen May 12, 2018, but made its debut September 23, 2017. The one above it, 45, 55 and PB 14  was last seen March 9, 2019.

That wasn’t the end, oh no. There were two more repeating Three-Number Combinations!

How long will Powerball’s newfound love for repeating Four-Number Combinations, and Lotto Texas’s vacation from them, last?

Showered with a Pattern Streak Blocker

Mega Millions began April the same way it said “Goodbye” to March, with the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern. Having played for the third time in a row this past Friday night, showing up again for the April 5, 2022 drawing wouldn’t have been out of the question. After all, this Pattern has had several streaks! Instead, Mega Millions opted for another Pattern, and with it came a jackpot that rose to $94 million.

General Lottery Analysis

Instead of a four-peat for the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern, Mega Millions went with the {3-1-1-1} Pattern. With winning numbers 22, 43, 60, 63, 64 and MB 18, this Pattern has now played 144 times.

This Pattern has now played in 18.8% of the 764 Mega Millions drawings and was last seen March 22, 2022.

The [1-1-3-1] General Order, now with 42 appearances, has played in 29.2% of the 144 drawings where {3-1-1-1} was the winning Pattern. Once all 764 drawings have been taken into consideration, this General Order has played 5.50% of the time. The [1-3-1-1] General Order was last seen December 21, 2021.

Now with three appearances, the 0 1 0 1 3 1 Specific Order has played in 7.14% of the 42 drawings where the General Order was [1-1-3-1]. Prior to Tuesday night, the 0 1 0 1 3 1 Specific Order played July 6, 2021.

A couple of repeating Three-Number Combinations were spotted:

What Pattern will Mega Millions go with Friday night?

Mega Millions Gets Its Spring On

Mega Millions…was not the first lottery of Spring 2022. That dual honor went to Lotto Texas and Powerball. Nevertheless, this lottery welcomed the new season with open arms. To commemorate its foray into spring, Mega Millions set the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern aside. That didn’t stop the jackpot from rising to $50 million!

General Lottery Analysis

Instead of a {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern encore, Mega Millions opted for the {3-1-1-1} Pattern. With 8, 15, 21, 27, 61 and MB 8, this Pattern has now played 143 times.

There have now been 760 Mega Millions drawings, and this Pattern has played 18.8% of the time.

The [1-3-1-1] General Order, now with 47 appearances, has played in 32.9% of the 143 drawings where {3-1-1-1} was the winning Pattern. Once all 760 drawings have been taken into consideration, this General Order has played 6.18% of the time.

Prior to Tuesday night, the 1 3 0 0 1 1 Specific Order played August 18, 2020.

As Mega Millions delves further into spring, will the {3-1-1-1} Pattern return Friday night?

Lotto Texas and Powerball’s Reset Cycle

Jackpot resets are like death, taxes, and disappointment: They’re inevitable. Whether a few weeks or several months have passed, rising jackpots must fall. How they get back up varies from lottery to lottery.

For Lotto Texas and Powerball, February 16, 2022 meant doing what they do best. Lotto Texas didn’t see a need to go all-out. Taking a slow and steady approach meant the jackpot rising to $5.25 million. Powerball’s tactic was to yell frantically and hurl repeating Three-Number Combinations. Messy though that was, it paid off, for the Powerball jackpot rose to $31 million.

Three-Number Combinations

Powerball seems to have a thing for repeating Three-Number Combination quintets!

What all will Lotto Texas and Powerball do Saturday night to keep their jackpots rising? Are more repeating Three-Number Combination quintets in the cards?

Ramming Through with Similar Spreads

February may be the shortest month, but what it lacks in length it more than makes up in festiveness! The Super Bowl is in February, and Valentine’s Day adds a touch of love in the air. If you’re not into football or romance, or even if you are, you might be able to swing by a Mardi Gras parade. You Mardi Gras lovers will have to wait a little longer this year; it’s not until March 1st.

As people stocked up on Super Bowl snacks and prepared for a romantic getaway (or an opportunity to embrace self-love), Mega Millions decided to shake things up. Friday night featured not one but two similar spreads! This unique move pushed the jackpot to $53 million.

General Lottery Analysis

The February 11, 2022 drawing featured the 142nd appearance of the {3-1-1-1} Pattern with 11, 16, 23, 24, 30 and MB 24.

A raucous start to the weekend! Source: lotterytrend-megamillions.com.

The [1-3-1-1] General Order, now with 46 appearances, has played in 32.4% of the 142 drawings where {3-1-1-1} was the winning Pattern. Once all 749 drawings have been taken into consideration, this General Order has played 6.14% of the time.

Prior to Friday night, the 1 3 1 0 0 1 Specific Order played June 2, 2020.

Similar Spreads

The Friday night spread was 05:07:01:06. There were two, yes two nights with spreads that were similar!

  • The first happened May 12, 2017. That night, 28, 34, 41, 42, 47 and MB 13 were the winning numbers, and they had a spread of 06:07:01:05.
  • Next was February 9, 2018. The winning numbers were 28, 34, 41, 46, 47 and MB 14, and their spread was 06:07:05:01.

In all three instances, the differences between numbers played were the same but of course, their orders were different.

Three-Number Combinations

Having two similar spreads in one night left Mega Millions without the energy to pursue repeating Three-Number Combinations.

Seeing one similar spread in a night is one thing, but two? We’ll have to see if Mega Millions does it again Tuesday night or if this lottery decides to pursue a more “quieter” route.

Mega Millions’ Friday Night Routine

Routines are an inescapable part of life. From getting ready for work or school to even just sleeping in on weekends, routines are what give our lives some semblance of order. Thing is, sticking to the same routine can get boring; it’s good to shake it up now and again. Lotteries are good at that!

Take Mega Millions. Earlier this week, it got a visit from the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern. Now, there could have been a Pattern encore this past Friday night. After all, this Pattern is notorious for such. Instead, Mega Millions took a different approach. Sure, there was wailing and gnashing of teeth from those who partook in the Friday night routine (or just wanted to shake it up a bit), but if there’s one saving grace, the jackpot ballooned to $396 million.

General Lottery Analysis

The {3-1-1-1} Pattern made its 141st appearance in the January 21, 2022 drawing with 38, 45, 46, 55, 67 and MB 18.

The [1-3-1-1] General Order, now with 45 appearances, has played in 31.9% of the 141 drawings where {3-1-1-1} was the winning Pattern. Once all 743 drawings have been taken into consideration, this General Order has played 6.06% of the time. The [3-1-1-1] General Order was last seen July 9, 2021.

Three-Number Combination(s)

There were no repeating Three-Number Combinations Friday night.

As the Mega Millions jackpot continues on its upward trek, will it meet its match next week, or keep on growing?

The Hidden Strength of the {3-1-1-1} Pattern

“Never judge a book by its cover.”

“Big things come in small packages.”

We’ve all heard something like the above phrases at one time or another. The gist is to never assume, and that goes double for lottery patterns. Take the {3-1-1-1} Pattern in Mega Millions. Compared to the likes of, oh, the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern, it doesn’t get a lot of play. Given that, one would think this {3-1-1-1} Pattern is a “small” player, no big deal.

You should know by now, or will know, that there are no small players in lottery!

Friday night’s showing of the {3-1-1-1} Pattern had the power to enrich or tease. This Pattern opted for the latter approach. As frustrating as it was for so many, the jackpot boost to $347 million was a silver lining.

General Lottery Analysis
