Joy to the Encore

We’ve updated the “About this Blog” page. Go check it out!

One word that best described Saturday night was “Encore!” Both Lotto Texas and Powerball thought it best to stick with what they knew instead of going for unorthodox plays. Well, at least Lotto Texas played it somewhat safe as the jackpot hit $22 million. Although not too wild, Powerball took a page from the Mega Millions playbook and saw the jackpot rise to $158 million.

General Lottery Analysis

Earlier in the week, we saw Mega Millions run amok with a triple encore. This may have been the inspiration for Powerball’s encore playback! First, the {3-1-1-1} Pattern. Thanks to winning numbers 33, 56, 64, 66, 68 and PB 12, this Pattern has played 139 times.

If the playback weren’t enough, Powerball also featured a repeating Three-Number Combination that played twice before! Repeating Three-Number Combination 56, 64 and PB 12 debuted August 10, 2016 and previously played April 25, 2018.

There’s only one week until Christmas, and Lotto Texas and Powerball are fired up! We’ll have to see if they’ll be up to Christmas mischief, or if at least one of them provides a very generous gift.

Silent Night. Lottery Night.

Christmas is a time of wonder and merriment, and it’s also a time of reflection. A time to step back and soak it all in, you know? Those moments when not much happens can make you appreciate those wild moments more. This is generally true of not only people, but lotteries as well, apparently.

From monstrously sized jackpots to making it rain repeating Combinations, Lotto Texas and Powerball were busy these past few months! What with Christmas not being too far away, these lotteries toned it down significantly Wednesday night. As such, both Lotto Texas and Powerball saw their respective jackpots rise to $21.5 million and $149 million.

As the Christmas countdown continues, how long will Lotto Texas and Powerball retain this “dignified” approach to jackpot boosting?

Recuperation

In the lead-up to Thanksgiving, both Lotto Texas and Powerball went crazy for repeating Combinations. The day before Thanksgiving had a record 17 repeating Combinations! Saturday night was much different. The lotteries figured that too many Combinations in such a short amount of time wasn’t going to be good for them in the long run. Instead, they spent the night too tired (and stuffed) to do much of anything. However, there was just enough energy to keep the players from claiming the jackpots. Lotto Texas held strong at $17.25 million, and the Powerball prize pushed onward to $56 million.

What with people heading home and bracing for another work/school week, perhaps it’s fitting that neither Lotto Texas nor Powerball went crazy with the repeating Combinations. We are, of course, now in the Christmas season. Inquiring minds want to know what shenanigans these lotteries will be up to in the coming weeks. Are more nights with a glut of repeating Combinations on tap, or will they have something else up their sleeves?

Lotto Texas and Powerball’s Quadruple Knockout

Somehow, the phrase, “What the <insert favorite expletive> was that?!” doesn’t come close to describing what happened Saturday night.

Lotto Texas and Powerball were truly in sync. In fact, they were so in sync that both, yes both, featured two repeating Four-Number Combinations! Unfortunately for Powerball, that played a part in the jackpot resetting to $20 million. Meanwhile, Lotto Texas seamlessly incorporated its repeating Four-Number Combinations as the jackpot rose to $15.75 million.

With the Powerball jackpot now at $20 million, Lotto Texas isn’t that far behind. (US) Thanksgiving is right around the corner, and there’s no telling what these two are cooking up. On the one hand, things may be quieter, what with the upcoming holiday. On the other hand, Christmas is coming up! We’ll just have to watch and see, won’t we?

Spreading Out and Rising Up

Lottery-wise, Wednesday nights are crowded. Rather than one lottery, two are vying for attention and adoration of players far and wide. Even as people are caught up in the allure of becoming an (almost) overnight millionaire, there’s an organized madness behind the scenes. Lotto Texas and Powerball, from their quietest nights to their biggest blowouts, embrace it willingly. A cold Wednesday night in mid-November is just as good as any.

November 16, 2022 was the night for “organized madness”. One lottery embraced the wonders of a similar spread while the other flirted with a repeating Combination that played twice before. Regardless of the path that was taken, both Lotto Texas and Powerball’s respective jackpots grew to $15.25 million and $93 million.

The March 10, 2010 drawing featured winning numbers 36, 42, 47, 48, 52 and 54 with a spread of 06:05:01:04:02. Remember, Remember, the Fifth of…October

In the lottery world, things come and go, but they’re never really forgotten. Whether it was nine years ago or just last week, Patterns and even repeating Combinations have a way of coming back.

October 5th may have only been a week ago, but Lotto Texas and Powerball already felt the nostalgia pangs. Wednesday night was like the previous Wednesday’s in more ways than one. That rush of nostalgia did nothing to slow the jackpots from growing to $7.75 million and $454 million!

The Other Side of the Lottery Social Scene

The past few Lotto Texas and Powerball nights have been events in and of themselves! Lotto Texas, of all lotteries, took over the Combination scene Saturday night with a repeating Five-Number Combination. Then, there was the Australia Play featured this past Monday. After two big nights, Lotto Texas would lead the charge into a wild Wednesday, right?

Rather than being a wild night, October 5, 2022 was mild, all right. Both Lotto Texas and Powerball took it easy, but that didn’t prevent their jackpots from growing. Lotto Texas pushed onward to $7 million, and the behemoth of a jackpot in Powerball grew to $378 million.

Three-Number Combinations

Repeating Three-Number Combinations didn’t even begin to cross Powerball’s mind.

With another mid-week come and gone, we’re all wondering if Lotto Texas and Powerball are resting up for an eventful Saturday night, or if they’re going to take a more relaxed approach.

Mega Millions’ Mid-Month Pattern Shift

In our last Mega Millions post, we mentioned the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern and how it rules this lottery. One reason for the Pattern being high in rank is due to its tendency to repeat itself. There was no such repeat Friday night. Also missing from Friday night was the chaos that accompanied that instance of the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern. Opting for a different Pattern shifted Friday night’s tone and raised the jackpot to $277 million.
