Can’t Ignore This

Some things are too big to ignore. Try as we might, there are things that remind us, sometimes bitterly so, of how unbelievably short time away from work feels, or how the biosphere is seriously out of whack (people wouldn’t double down on denial otherwise). In a time when people are cash-strapped and looking to free themselves from wage slavery, it would serve them well to pay attention to the goings-on in the lottery world.

Going into the July 15, 2023 Powerball drawing, Powerball, along with Mega Millions, had a jackpot getting close to $1 billion. After the drawing, that still held true. The Powerball jackpot rose to a heart-pounding $900 million!

There are just some streaks we can do without. An obvious one is a losing streak. But what if that losing streak fuels a good thing? No one wants to lose a lottery drawing. At least, we hope not. However, more money means a bigger nest egg, more freedom, and of course, many of us want that freedom! Alas, that desire will have to burn a bit longer.

Yes, yes, the “real” unlucky date is Friday the 13th, but for Mega Millions’ {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern, June 13, 2023 was an unlucky night. The streak that was running since Memorial Day weekend came to a halt. So much for that sixth consecutive drawing! However, one good thing that did come from Tuesday night’s results was a jackpot that grew to $281 million, pleasing both this lottery and the players alike.
