August Streak

Greetings, Lotterytrend fans. Romulun Harris here. Last night, on August 1, 2022, Powerball’s jackpot streak continued to gain momentum as it had reached $202 million. Lotto Texas started to develop a little streak itself when its frequently played {3-2-1} Pattern played for the second time in a row. And now, the details.

What a way to begin August. Lotto Texas’s frequently played {3-2-1} Pattern trying to start up a little streak and Powerball’s jackpot having crossed the $200 million mark. In addition, while Lotto Texas has no Four-Number Combination Repeats, Powerball gets three lemons on the slot machine and receives a bunch of Three-Number Combination Repeats—two of them having now occurred for the third time. What more surprises are to come? This is Romulun Harris signing off. Stay safe!

Saturday Night Spread and a Dose of Playback

As one lottery flirts with the possibility of a billion-dollar jackpot, two lotteries proved they were just as worthy of attention. Both Lotto Texas and Powerball saw a shakeup Saturday night. Lotto Texas, ever graceful, took a chance with an uncommon Pattern. The payoff was a jackpot that grew to $8 million. On the Powerball side, the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern streak came to an end and with it, a jackpot that grew to $130 million.

Leftovers, Anyone?

Across many households in many languages, people are asking, “Hey (name)? What’s for dinner?” In some places, (name) is planning to cook a new dish. In others, (name) announces “Leftovers.” Sometimes, leftovers don’t seem very appetizing. Just the name alone makes some stomachs churn.

Now, leftovers aren’t inherently bad. Food waste should be minimized as much as possible, and left-over leftovers can be frozen, provided they’re still fresh. For lotteries, leftovers are all but a certainty. Some leftovers have more kick to them than others.

After a holiday weekend, it was fitting that something carried over into Lotto Texas and Powerball. The leftovers served up on July 6, 2022 gave the jackpots a shot of extra flavor. The Lotto Texas jackpot became $6.25 million, and Powerball’s jackpot continued onward to $48 million.

As we delve deeper into summer, is another Australia Play encore on the horizon, and will there be a playback in Powerball?

A Dip in the Playback Pool

Here’s a fun fact: July 2nd is the actual halfway point of the year. We are officially 50% done with 2022! Since the mid-year point is knee-deep in summer in Lottery Trend country, what better way to celebrate than jumping into the pool (and watching fireworks)? There are your above-ground pools, your lap pools, your indoor pools and so on, but what about number pools? They may not be filled with water, but they have a way of changing people’s lives.

Lotto Texas and Powerball hung out by the playback pool Saturday night. One lottery cannonballed into the pool while the other stuck their toes in. The result for both lotteries was the same: rising jackpots! Lotto Texas’s jackpot jumped to $5.75 million, and Powerball’s jackpot rebounded to $26 million.

Mega Millions’ Blockbuster Jackpot

Movie theaters almost seem antiquated, don’t they? Even the best performing movies end up on a streaming service and/or made available for purchase six weeks later. Why on earth would anyone go? For one, humans are social creatures that need more than the simulacra of social media (Translation: We thrive better when physically interacting with others, even if tangentially), and some movies just look and sound better on the big screen. Going further, some movies connect people on a more global scale, raking in hundreds of millions, sometimes billions of dollars and become part of the wider culture. The blockbusters. Now, blockbusters are associated with movies, true, but let’s consider a different kind. A lottery kind.

June 28, 2022 was a blockbuster night for Mega Millions. Thousands of people shot their shot, and thousands of people could connect over the disappointment of loss. Regardless of how players felt about their losses, the jackpot grew to $360 million.

The Night That Repeats Dominated

In the last Lotto Texas/Powerball post, we talked about how repeats tend to dominate the airwaves during the summer. Perhaps there’s no better night for repeats than Saturday night! After all, many people go out on Saturdays, and when opting to stay in, they have more options than they did 40, 30, or even 10 years ago. Just as TV channels are fond of repeats, so are lotteries.

Pattern repeats dominated the lottery landscape June 25, 2022. In fact, it was a Pattern three-peat in Lotto Texas that forced the jackpot to reset to $5 million. Powerball’s Pattern encore gave the jackpot another boost, pushing it to $346 million.

Bounding into Summer

Summer isn’t just about hot temperatures and beating the heat. Summer’s a time for travel, a time for adventure, and a time for repeats.

“Repeats?” you ask.

For as long as television has been around, summer has been a time where repeats dominated the airwaves. Broadcast or cable, it mattered not. If you turned on the TV, chances are it was on an episode you had seen a bajillion times. No harm in watching it a bajillion and one times, right?

Now, repeats in and of themselves aren’t necessarily a bad thing. They certainly aren’t for lotteries! After all, if you miss something the first time, you won’t miss it again, right?

Except, if you played Lotto Texas this past Monday and played again Wednesday night, you likely missed the Australia Play again. But don’t worry! The jackpot grew to $7.25 million, certainly not small change! Powerball didn’t see an encore, but it saw its jackpot shoot up to $335 million.

Mega Millions: Dawn of a New Summer

And so, it has come. After weeks of brutal heat, summer is officially here! Yet, you can’t help but get the feeling that the summers may be hotter than they were when you were a kid. Oh well, nothing like a dip in the pool or tubing down river can’t fix, right? Or, how about some Mega Millions? That’ll help take your mind off the humidity and give you an endless summer, of sorts. Thing is, you’re going to need both persistence and patience.

As the temperatures stayed high, Mega Millions cooled down. An encore for the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern didn’t materialize, but the jackpot rose all the same. In fact, it shot up well past the $300 million mark, stopping at $312 million when all was said and done.

Will the jackpot continue to rise through the summer, fueled by Pattern encores and Pattern streaks?

Two Different Approaches. One Common Goal

Lotto Texas and Powerball are an odd couple indeed! The former often takes a quieter approach while the latter tends to be more adventurous. Even though they’re opposites, they have one common goal: making it difficult for the players to nab jackpots.

Their different approaches were on full display June 15, 2022. Lotto Texas, ever graceful, employed a Pattern three-peat to boost its jackpot to $6.5 million. Meanwhile, Powerball’s craving for repeating Three-Number Combinations sent the jackpot to $279 million.
