The 4-1-1 on Major Plays

There were no encores for either Lotto Texas or Powerball the night of September 16th. Yet, it was far from a quiet night. Although Lotto Texas saw a repeating Four-Number Combination, it was Powerball that saw the biggest play of the evening. One of the biggest was the appearance of a Pattern so rare that it had only played twice before, and made one player $133 million richer.

Lotto Texas

With winning numbers 4, 9, 18, 36, 40, and 41, the {3-2-1} Pattern made its 772nd appearance.

This Pattern has now played in 52.1% of the 1482 Lotto Texas drawings, and was seen in the September 9th drawing exactly one week ago.

Making its 142nd appearance was the 3 1 2 Specific Order, which has now played in 18.4% of the 772 drawings where the {3-2-1} Pattern has appeared. This Specific Order has also played in 9.58% of the 1482 drawings to date, and previously played on September 6th, 2017.

The repeating Four-Number Combination of the evening was 9, 18, 40, and 41.

This Combination made its debut in the August 6th, 2016 drawing. Compared to most repeating Four-Number Combinations we’ve discussed, this one is recent.

Powerball

For the third time ever, the {4-1-1} Pattern played in Powerball! The winning numbers were 17, 18, 24, 25, 31, and PB 24.

This Pattern has now played in 1.47% of the 204 Powerball drawings. We last saw this Pattern over a year ago. More specifically, the August 17th, 2016 drawing.

With its second appearance, the [4-1-1] General Order has played in 67% of the three drawings where the {4-1-1} Pattern has played, and in 0.98% of all 204 drawings. This General Order made its debut in the April 13th, 2016 drawing.

Making its world debut in Powerball was the 0 4 1 0 0 1 Specific Order. This Specific Order has now played in 50% of the two drawings where the [4-1-1] General Order has appeared, and in 33% of the three drawings where the {4-1-1} Pattern has appeared. This Specific Order has also played in 0.49% of all 204 drawings.

So far, it looks like Lotto Texas and Powerball are getting ready for a big send-off to summer. Will the momentum continue into next week?

All Quiet on the Mega Millions Front

The September 15th Mega Millions drawing ended the week the way it started. No, there wasn’t an encore of the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern. There weren’t any repeating Three-Number Combinations, either. Yet, even though Friday was quiet, the biggest surprise of the evening was the Specific Order. More specifically, the last time it appeared.

With winning numbers 18, 24, 34, 38, 58, and MB 3, the {2-2-1-1} Pattern has now played 120 times.

Winning Mega Millions numbers. Source: lotterytrend-megamillions.com.

This Pattern has played in 29.4% of the 408 Mega Millions drawings, and was last seen in the August 15th, 2017 drawing.

Now with 44 appearances, the [2-2-1-1] General Order has played in 36.7% of the 120 drawings where the {2-2-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 10.8% of all 408 drawings. We last saw this General Order in the August 1st, 2017 drawing.

Our Mega Millions coverage concludes with the sixth appearance of the 0 2 2 1 0 1 Specific Order. This Specific Order has now played in 13.6% of the 44 drawings where the [2-2-1-1] General Order has appeared, and in 5% of the 120 drawings where the {2-2-1-1} Pattern has appeared. This Specific Order has also played in 1.47% of all 408 drawings. What makes the 0 2 2 1 0 1 Specific Order interesting is that until Friday night, it hadn’t played in almost two years. This Specific Order previously played in the November 13th, 2015 drawing.

With next week being the final week of summer, will Mega Millions give the season a big send-off?

September Spice

September is nearly halfway over, and it’s almost time to say goodbye to summer. Although autumn doesn’t start until September 22nd (or 23rd), Lotto Texas and Powerball were getting ready for a big send off. That is, if the results from September 13th were anything to go by. Whether it was a Pattern that doesn’t show up often in Lotto Texas, or three repeating Three-Number Combinations in Powerball, Wednesday night was far from boring!

Of course, if you’re reading from the Southern Hemisphere, replace “winter” with “spring”.

Lotto Texas

With winning numbers 24, 35, 40, 42, 45, and 48, the {4-2} Pattern made its 167th appearance.

This Pattern has now played in 11.3% of the 1481 Lotto Texas drawings, and was last seen on August 16th, 2017.

Now with 29 appearances, the 0 2 4 Specific Order has played in 17.4% of the 167 drawings where the {4-2} Pattern has appeared, and in 1.96% of all 1481 drawings. Prior to Wednesday night, this Specific Order played in the December 14th, 2016 drawing.

Here’s a real treat: 35, 40, 42, and 48, the sole repeating Four-Number Combination, made its debut nearly nine-and-a-half years ago! To be more specific, this Combination made its debut in the March 19th, 2008 drawing.

This Pattern has played in 29.6% of the 203 Powerball drawings, and previously played in the September 6th, 2017 drawing.

Making its 20th appearance, the [2-1-2-1] General Order has now played in 33.3% of the 60 drawings where the {2-2-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 9.85% of all 203 drawings. This General Order was seen alongside the {2-2-1-1} Pattern exactly a week prior.

With its third appearance, the 0 2 1 0 2 1 Specific Order has played in 15% of the 20 drawings where the [2-1-2-1] General Order has appeared. This Specific Order has also played in 5% of the 60 drawings where the {2-2-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 1.48% of all 203 drawings. We last saw the 0 2 1 0 2 1 Specific Order in the May 13th, 2017 drawing.

The repeating Three-Number Combinations of the evening were

  • 24, 35, PB 19 (Debuted August 12th, 2017)

With only two more drawings for Lotto Texas and Powerball left this summer, was Wednesday night truly a sign of things to come?

Tonight’s Episode: “An August Rewind” or “Never Count This Pattern Out”

September 12th was National Chocolate Milkshake Day in Lottery Trend Country. Love ‘em or hate ‘em, frosty chocolate milkshakes scream “Summer”. As summer begins to fade in our part of the world, Mega Millions had a summer throwback. By “throwback”, we mean “Three weeks ago (give or take a couple of days).”

The ever-lovable {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern made its 171st appearance Tuesday night. This time around, the winning numbers were 26, 37, 41, 54, 65, and MB 3.

This Pattern has played in 42% of the 407 Mega Millions drawings.

With 49 appearances, the [1-2-1-1-1] General Order has played in 28.7% of the 171 drawings where the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared. This General Order has also played in approximately 12% of all 407 drawings.

The 0 1 2 1 1 1 Specific Order made its tenth appearance, and has now played in 20.4% of the 49 drawings where the [1-2-1-1-1] General Order has appeared. This Specific Order has played in 5.85% of the 171 drawings where the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 2.46% of all 407 drawings.

All three played together in the August 25th, 2017 drawing!

There were no repeating Three-Number Combinations.

As we continue to ease into autumn, will the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern go for an encore Friday night, or will we see another Pattern? Will that Pattern be accompanied by a General Order and Specific Order that played alongside it once before?

Of Common Patterns

After a quiet night, the lotteries came swinging on September 9th. Both Lotto Texas and Powerball saw their most commonly played Patterns, and were accompanied by a repeating Four-Number and Three-Number Combination, respectively. Also, in what may have been the biggest play of the evening, a Specific Order played for the first time in over a year!

Lotto Texas

Right off the heels of this past Wednesday’s drawing, the {3-2-1} Pattern made its 771st appearance. The winning numbers were 9, 26, 32, 34, 42, and 51.

Will Wednesday night feature a repeat appearance for either the {3-2-1} or the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern?

{2-1-1-1-1} Blocker

The {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern did not, repeat, did not make a fifth consecutive appearance in the September 8th drawing. Instead, we saw a Pattern that, although has played a respectable number of times, hasn’t played nearly as often. This Pattern was also accompanied by two repeating Three-Number Combinations.

The Pattern of the evening was {3-1-1-1}. With winning numbers 4, 5, 14, 26, 73, and MB 14, this Pattern has now played 67 times.

This Specific Order has also played in 2.99% of the 67 drawings where the {3-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 0.493% of all 406 drawings. The 3 1 0 0 1 1 Specific Order made its debut in the September 23rd, 2016 drawing.

The repeating Three-Number Combinations of the evening were as follows:

  • 26, 73, MB 14 (Debuted March 4th, 2016)
  • 14, 73, MB 14 (Debuted March 10th, 2015)

Will the {3-1-1-1} Pattern be bold enough to make an encore in Tuesday’s drawing?

More “Common” Things and a World Debut

In our last post covering Lotto Texas and Powerball, we talked about how September got off to a big start. The night of September 6th told a different story. There were no Pattern encores, and as for repeating Three and Four-Number Combinations? Nada. The biggest event of the evening was the debut of a new Specific Order.

Lotto Texas

Wednesday’s winning numbers were 8, 10, 16, 32, 40, and 48, bringing the number of appearances of the {3-2-1} Pattern to 770.

This Pattern has now played in 52.1% of the 1479 Lotto Texas drawings, and was last seen on August 26th, 2017.

Making its 141st appearance, the 3 1 2 Specific Order played in 18.3% of the 770 drawings where the {3-2-1} Pattern has appeared, as well as in 9.53% of all 1479 drawings. Prior to Wednesday night, this Specific Order was seen August 2nd, 2017.

Powerball

The {2-2-1-1} Pattern made its 59th appearance, with winning numbers 8, 14, 32, 58, 67, and PB 17.

This Pattern has now played in 29.4% of the 201 Powerball drawings, and was last seen on August 30th, 2017.

Now with nineteen (19) appearances, the [2-1-2-1] General Order has played in 32.2% of the 59 drawings where the {2-2-1-1} Pattern has appeared. This General Order has also played in 9.45% of the 201 drawings, and was seen alongside the {2-2-1-1} Pattern in the August 30th drawing.

Making its world debut was the 2 0 1 0 2 1 Specific Order, now having played in 5.26% of the 19 drawings where the [2-1-2-1] General Order has appeared. This Specific Order has also played in 1.69% of the 59 drawings where the {2-2-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in roughly 0.5% of all 201 drawings.

Will there be another world debut among Specific Orders? Will either the {2-2-1-1} or {3-2-1} Pattern make an encore?

4 X {2-1-1-1-1} = Persistence

Irma, the strongest hurricane ever recorded in the Atlantic Basin, has devastated the island nations of Barbuda, St. Martin, and St. Bart. This storm is predicted to make landfall in Puerto Rico and the Bahamas, and then slam into Florida. Our thoughts and prayers go out to those having been affected by the storm. Mother Nature is a harsh mistress indeed.

Here in our part of Lottery Trend Country, Tuesday would have been the day classes resumed. Due to the historic rains last week, the kids got some more time off. Even if you’re way past the age of going to school, don’t panic! We here at Lottery Binge stick to our promise about you guys not having to do any math.  The title of this evening’s post is about Mega Millions’s favorite Pattern: {2-1-1-1-1}. See, there have been a couple of occasions this summer where this Pattern went on to play at least four times. Right off the heels of this past Friday’s drawing, the night of September 5th saw a third instance of a {2-1-1-1-1} four-peat! Just the sheer persistence of this Pattern may in fact supersede last summer’s six-peat during the Rio Olympics.

Anyway, Tuesday’s winning numbers were 11, 17, 59, 70, 72, and MB 1, bringing the number of appearances of the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern to 170.

This Pattern has now played in approximately 42% of the 405 Mega Millions drawings.

The [1-1-1-2-1] General Order has now played 41 times, and in 24.1% of the 170 drawings where the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared. This General Order has also played in 10.1% of all 401 drawings. Unlike the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern, the [1-1-1-2-1] did not make a four-peat appearance. Heck, it didn’t even make an encore. This General Order was in fact last seen in the June 27th, 2017 drawing.

Making its third appearance, the 1 1 0 1 2 1 Specific Order has played in 7.32% of the 41 drawings where the [1-1-1-2-1] General Order has appeared. This Specific Order has also played in 1.76% of the 170 drawings where the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 0.74% of all 405 drawings. Prior to Tuesday night, this Specific Order was seen in the June 23rd, 2017 drawing.

There were no repeating Three-Number Combinations.

Will the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern go on to make a fifth consecutive appearance, or will another Pattern have its day in the sun?

Pre-Labor Day 4-1-1

Lotto Texas and Powerball kicked off September, and Labor Day weekend, with some not-commonly-seen Patterns. To make things even more interesting, one of these lotteries saw an Australia Play the night of September 2nd. In fact, it hadn’t seen one in nearly six months! Can you guess which one?

Lotto Texas

Making its 161st appearance, the {4-1-1} Pattern has now played in 10.9% of the 1478 Lotto Texas drawings. The winning numbers were 2, 10, 14, 15, 31, and 38.

Winning Lotto Texas numbers. Source: lotterytrend.com.

Prior to Saturday night, we last saw this Pattern in the July 8th, 2017 drawing.

Now with 51 appearances, the 4 1 1 Specific Order has played in 31.7% of the 161 drawings where the {4-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 3.45% of all 1478 drawings. This Specific Order previously played in the March 29th, 2017 drawing.

There were two repeating Four-Number Combinations:

  • 2, 15, 31, 38 (Debuted March 17th, 2007)
  • 2, 14, 31, 38 (Debuted August 31st, 2016)

Powerball

By process of elimination, ‘twas Powerball that saw the Australia Play. This was fitting, as Saturday night had the 200th drawing with number balls 1 through 69, and Powerballs 1- 26. With winning numbers 6, 21, 41, 52, 62, and PB 26, this was the 17th time that the {1-1-1-1-1-1} Pattern appeared.

Winning Powerball numbers. Source: lotterytrend-powerball.com.

This also meant the 17th appearance of the [1-1-1-1-1-1] General Order and the 1 1 1 1 1 1 Specific Order. All three have now played in 8.5% of the 200 Powerball drawings, and were last seen in the March 11th, 2017 drawing.

As momentous as it was to see an Australia Play, there were no repeating Three-Number Combinations.

Will either the {4-1-1} or {1-1-1-1-1-1} Patterns make an encore appearance in next Wednesday’s drawing? Will other rare Patterns get a spot in the limelight?

The Calm After the Storm

Labor Day weekend: the last “official” holiday of the summer. In some parts of the US, Labor Day itself is one of the last, if not the last day of summer vacation. With barbecue and beach visits being traded out for bento boxes and book bags, Mega Millions kicked September off with a three-peat.

The {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern made its 169th appearance in the September 1st drawing, with winning numbers 4, 13, 31, 50, 64, and MB 12.

This Pattern has now played in 41.8% of the 404 Mega Millions drawings.

Now with 43 appearances, the [2-1-1-1-1] General Order has played in 25.4% of the 169 drawings where the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared. This General Order has also played in 10.6% of all 404 drawings, and appeared alongside the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern in the August 29th drawing.

Making its 10th appearance, the 2 0 1 1 1 1 Specific Order has played in 23.3% of the 43 drawings where the [2-1-1-1-1] General Order has appeared, and in 5.92% of the 169 drawings where the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern appeared. This Specific Order has also played in 2.48% of all 404 drawings. Prior to Friday night, the 2 0 1 1 1 1 Specific Order was last seen in the June 20th, 2017 drawing.

Friday night’s drawing didn’t produce any repeating Three-Number Combinations.

As things slowly return to “normal” for coastal Texas/Louisiana, will the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern be daring enough to go for a fourth consecutive appearance?
