Two Scoops of Rare Treats

If you like rare Patterns, then you were in for a treat Wednesday night! Both Lotto Texas and Powerball saw some of their least-commonly seen Patterns in the July 19th drawing. In addition to these rare Patterns playing, both lotteries saw Specific Orders that hadn’t played in two years, or thereabouts.

Lotto Texas

The winning numbers were 1, 3, 11, 15, 16, and 50, bringing the number of appearances of the {5-1} Pattern to 52.

This Pattern has played in 3.55% of the 1465 Lotto Texas drawings, and was last seen in the March 25th, 2017 drawing.

Making its third appearance, the 5 0 1 Specific Order has played in 5.77% of the 52 drawings where the {5-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 0.20% of all 1465 drawings. This Specific Order previously played a little over a couple of years ago in the June 13th, 2015 drawing.

Lotto Texas felt the {5-1} Pattern was enough, for there were no repeating Four-Number Combinations.

Powerball

The {3-2-1} made its eighth appearance, with winning numbers 50, 51, 59, 61, 63, and PB 4.

This Pattern has played in 4.28% of the 187 Powerball drawings, and previously played in the April 12th, 2017 drawing.

With six appearances, the [2-3-1] General Order has played in 75% of the eight drawings where the {3-2-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 3.21% of all 187 drawings. This General Order played alongside the {3-2-1} Pattern in the April 12th drawing.

Now with two appearances, the 0 0 0 2 3 1 Specific Order has played in approximately 33.3% of the six drawings where the [2-3-1] General Order has appeared. This Specific Order has also played in 25% of the eight drawings where the {3-2-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 1.07% of all 187 Powerball drawings. The 0 0 0 2 3 1 Specific Order made its debut in the October 17th, 2015 drawing.

There was one lone repeating Three-Number Combination, and it was 59, 63, and PB 4.

This Combination made its debut in the July 2nd, 2016 drawing.

Looking ahead to Saturday, will any of these rare Patterns make an encore appearance?

Playing it Cool

Well, don’t that beat all? Earlier this summer, the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern made five consecutive appearances, and came close to tying the record that was achieved last summer. It looks like the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern is trying to establish a streak again, because it made its third consecutive appearance in the July 18th drawing.

This Mega Millions post will be another short one, as there were no repeating Three-Number Combinations.

The winning numbers on Tuesday night were 8, 12, 23, 51, 73, and MB 6, bringing the number of appearances of the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern up to 164.

This Pattern has played in 41.9% of the 391 Mega Millions drawings.

The [2-1-1-1-1] General Order made its 41st appearance, and has played in 25% of the 164 drawings where the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 10.5% of all 391 drawings. This General Order appeared alongside the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern in the July 14th drawing.

Our Mega Millions coverage concludes with the eleventh appearance of the 2 1 0 1 1 1 Specific Order. This Specific Order has played in 26.8% of the 41 drawings where the [2-1-1-1-1] drawing has appeared, and 6.71% of the 164 drawings where the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared. When looking at all 391 Mega Millions drawings, the statistic becomes 2.81%. This Specific Order was last seen in the June 6th, 2017 drawing.

Will the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern go for a fourth consecutive appearance?

Another Cool Saturday Night

Halfway through the month of July and we saw another cool down Saturday night. The biggest plays July 15th were an Australia Play in Lotto Texas and a new Specific Order in Powerball. There were no repeating Four-Number or Three-Number Combinations to speak of in Lotto Texas or Powerball, respectively.

Lotto Texas

Saturday’s winning numbers were 10, 13, 22, 36, 50, and 52.

Making its 17th appearance, the [1-1-3-1] General Order has played in 45.9% of the 37 drawings where the {3-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 9.14% of all Powerball drawings. This General Order appeared alongside the {3-1-1-1} Pattern in the July 1st drawing.

The 1 0 1 0 3 1 Specific Order made its debut, and has now played in 5.88% of the 17 drawings where the [1-1-3-1] General Order has appeared, and in 2.70% of the 37 drawings where the {3-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared. This Specific Order has played in 0.54% of all Powerball drawings.

Will next week see more Australia Plays? Will Pattern streaks be established?

Short and Sweet Encore

The {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern was feeling bold Friday night. In our last Mega Millions post, we had asked if this Pattern would make an encore, and sure enough, it did. There was a bit of a change-up, though. Unlike what happened in the July 11th drawing, there were no repeating Three-Number Combinations.

July 14th’s winning numbers were 11, 12, 24, 32, 73, and MB 1.

Now with 163 appearances, the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has played in 41.8% of the 390 Mega Millions drawings.

The [2-1-1-1-1] General Order made its 40th appearance, and has played in 24.5% of the 163 drawings where the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and 10.3% of all 390 drawings. Prior to Friday night, this General Order was last seen in the June 20th drawing. This was almost a month ago.

Our Mega Millions coverage concludes with the 2 1 1 0 1 1 Specific Order. Making its eighth appearance, this Specific Order has played in 20% of the 40 drawings where the [2-1-1-1-1] General Order has appeared, and in 4.91% of the 163 drawings where the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared. This Specific Order has also played in 2.05% of all 390 drawings, and was last seen in the November 20th, 2015 drawing.

Will the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern go for a three-peat in Tuesday’s drawing, or does Mega Millions have another surprise up its sleeve?

The Big Thaw

After a restful weekend, Lotto Texas and Powerball came back swinging Wednesday night. In fact, a major warm-up took place. The night of July 12th saw Patterns from recent Saturdays make an appearance in both lotteries. What’s more is that the Powerball Pattern from this past Saturday made an encore appearance. There were also repeating Four-Number Combinations for Lotto Texas and a repeating Three-Number Combination for Powerball.

Prior to Wednesday night, how recent was Lotto Texas’s Pattern? What was it, anyway?

  • 19, 24, 32, 50 (Debuted September 3rd, 2008)

Will things stay hot on Saturday night?

Guess Who Decided to Show Up?

Well, isn’t this something!? After not showing up in the July 7th Mega Millions drawing, the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern appeared Tuesday night.

If it had made an appearance in both Friday night and Tuesday night’s drawings, it would’ve shattered the record for most consecutive appearances of a Pattern. At least, as far as Lottery Binge’s Mega Millions coverage is concerned. Perhaps next summer, {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern. Perhaps next summer.

With that said, the winning numbers for the July 11th drawing were 7, 18, 24, 55, 74, and MB 10.

{2-1-1-1-1} comes back. Source: lotterytrend-megamillions.com.

The {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared in 162 out of 389 Mega Millions drawings, and has played 41.6% of the time. The last time we saw this Pattern was in the July 4th drawing.

This Specific Order has also played in 2.31% of all 389 drawings. Prior to Tuesday night, the 1 2 0 1 1 1 Specific Order previously played in the November 15th, 2016 drawing.

There were also three repeating Three-Number Combinations, and they were as follows:

  • 18, 24, MB 10 (Debuted November 17th, 2015)
  • 55, 74, MB 10 (Debuted April 29th, 2016)
  • 7, 24, 74 (Debuted October 18th, 2016)

Will the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern dare to start up another streak right after breaking the last one, or will another Pattern play?

The Big Combination Freeze

Things got even chillier July 8th. For the past few weeks, the Lotto Texas/Powerball posts covered at least one lottery having either a repeating Four-Number or Three-Number Combination, respectively. Saturday night was the first time since June 14th, 2017 that there were no repeating Four-Number or Three-Number Combinations. Just as well, for the Fourth of July has come and gone, and those who took mini-vacations are making their way back to work.

Lotto Texas

The {4-1-1} Pattern made its 160th appearance with winning numbers 8, 33, 38, 43, 51, and 53.

Source: lotterytrend.com.

This Pattern has now played in 10.9% of the 1462 drawings. Speaking of June 14th, this was the last time the {4-1-1} Pattern was seen.

Now with 55 appearances, the 1 1 4 Specific Order has played in approximately 34.4% of the 160 drawings where the {4-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 3.76% of all 1462 drawings. Like the {4-1-1} Pattern, this Specific Order was also last seen in the June 14th drawing.

Powerball

Making its 56th appearance, the {2-2-1-1} Pattern has now played in 30.4% of the 184 Powerball drawings. The winning numbers were 8, 10, 29, 40, 59, and PB 26.

No repeating Three-Number Combinations this time. Source: lotterytrend-powerball.com.

This Pattern was last seen in the June 28th drawing; this was almost two weeks ago.

Next, the [2-2-1-1] General Order made its 22nd appearance, and has played in 39.3% of the 56 drawings where the {2-2-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in approximately 12% of all 184 drawings. Like the {2-2-1-1} Pattern, this General Order was last seen in the June 28th drawing.

Other than the lack of repeating Three-Number Combinations, one of the biggest highlights of Powerball was the debut of the 2 0 2 0 1 1 Specific Order. This Specific Order has now played in 4.55% of the 22 drawings where the [2-2-1-1] General Order has appeared. It has also played in 1.79% of the 56 drawings where the {2-2-1-1} Pattern has appeared and 0.54% of all drawings.

Will the cool down continue into next week, or will things heat up a bit?

The Streak is Gone

The {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern didn’t go for a sixth consecutive appearance in the July 7th drawing. If it had, then it would have tied the record set last summer. What a firework show that would have been! Nevertheless, Friday night’s drawing provided its own fireworks. Although a less common Pattern played, there was more bubbling underneath the surface.

The winning numbers were 2, 9, 11, 28, 60, and MB 10, bringing the total number of appearances of the {3-1-1-1} Pattern to 63.

Source: lotterytrend-megamillions.com.

This Pattern has played in 16.2% of the 388 Mega Millions drawings, and was last seen in the June 13th, 2017 drawing.

Making its 22nd appearance, the [3-1-1-1] General Order has played in 34.9% of the 63 drawings where the {3-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 5.67% of all 388 drawings. Prior to Friday night, this General Order was last seen in the May 26th, 2017 drawing.

Now with two appearances, the 3 1 0 1 0 1 Specific Order has played in approximately 9.09% of the 22 drawings where the [3-1-1-1] General Order has appeared, and in 3.17% of the 63 drawings where the {3-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared. This Specific Order has also played in 0.52% of all 388 drawings. The 3 1 0 1 0 1 Specific Order made its debut in the May 22nd, 2015 drawing.

Seeing a Specific Order that hadn’t played in over two years wasn’t the only big draw of the evening.

Friday night’s winning numbers share a similar spread with the May 23rd, 2014 drawing. That drawing’s winning numbers were 12, 14, 21, 38, 70, and MB 15, with a spread of 02:07:17:32. The spread from Friday night was 07:02:17:32. Note that while the difference between numbers was the same in both drawings, the order was different.

Another big draw was the repeat appearances of two Three-Number Combinations. The Combinations were

  • 2, 9, 11 (Debuted June 2nd, 2015)
  • 11, 60, MB 10 (Debuted March 17th, 2017)
Boxed in together. Source: lotterytrend-megamillions.com.

Will the {3-1-1-1} Pattern make an encore appearance Tuesday? Will there be another similar spread next week?

Cooling Off with a Trip Down Under

There was a shift in gears July 5th. Lotto Texas decided to beat the heat, and the {3-2-1} Pattern streak, with an Australia Play. It wasn’t too chilly though, as Wednesday night also saw a repeating Four-Number Combination. Powerball saw its most commonly played Pattern, but there were no repeating Three-Number Combinations. That, and there were no new Specific Orders to speak of in either lottery.

Lotto Texas

The 197th iteration of the {2-2-2} Pattern was thanks to numbers 4, 8, 24, 32, 47, and 51.

Likewise, the 2 2 2 Specific Order made its 197th appearance. Both the Pattern and Specific Order have played in 13.5% of the 1461 Lotto Texas drawings. The last time an Australia Play appeared was on May 27th, 2017.

This Australia Play also produced the repeating Four-Number Combination 4, 8, 47, and 51, which made its debut in the May 12th, 2001 drawing.

Fun fact: The very first iPod made its debut five months later. It would be several years later before the iPhone made its mark on the world.

Powerball

The winning numbers were 4, 9, 16, 54, 68, and PB 21, bringing the number of appearances of the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern to 67.

This Pattern has now played in 36.6% of the 183 Powerball drawings, and was last seen in the June 24th, 2017 drawing.

Making its fifteenth appearance, the [2-1-1-1-1] General Order has played in 22.4% of the 67 drawings where the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern appeared, and in approximately 8.2% of all 183 drawings. Prior to Wednesday night, this General Order played in the June 17th, 2017 drawing.

Now with four appearances, the 2 1 0 1 1 1 Specific Order has played in 26.667% of the fifteen drawings where the [2-1-1-1-1] General Order has appeared, and in 5.97% of the 67 drawings where the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared. This Specific Order has also played in 2.19% of all 183 drawings, and was last seen in the May 27th, 2017 drawing.

Will this cool down continue into Saturday night, or will things heat up again?

Five-Time Charmer

The Fourth of July came and went. Across the U.S., people went to cookouts, parades, and even sales at retail stores. Of course, no Fourth of July celebration is complete without fireworks. Speaking of fireworks, Mega Millions had a show of its own. The {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has now made its fifth consecutive appearance!

Did this iteration of the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern also produce any repeating Three-Number Combinations, or did the Pattern steal the show?

Tuesday night’s winning numbers were 16, 39, 47, 53, 71, and MB 15, bringing the number of appearances of the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern to 161.

Source: lotterytrend-megamillions.com.

This Pattern has now played in 41.6% of the 387 Mega Millions drawings.

Making its 37th appearance, the [1-1-2-1-1] General Order has played in approximately 23% of the 161 drawings where the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 9.56% of all 387 drawings. Like the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern, this General Order was last seen in the June 30th drawing.

This Specific Order has also played in 2.33% of all 387 drawings. Prior to Tuesday night, the 0 1 1 2 1 1 Specific Order was last seen in the January 27th, 2017 drawing.

Nestled within this iteration of the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern were four, yes four repeating Three-Number Combinations! The Combinations were as follows:

  • 16, 39, 53 (Debuted February 23rd, 2016)
  • 39, 71, MB 15 (Debuted August 19th, 2014)
  • 53, 71, MB 15 (Debuted February 10th, 2015)
  • 16, 47, 53 (Debuted November 11th, 2016)

For those of you who are new to Lottery Binge, or just need a memory jog, the “five-peat” phenomenon was talked about last summer. Is the long Pattern streak going to be a new summer phenomenon? Will the {2-1-1-1-1} tie the record for six consecutive appearances that was established last summer?
