Watch Out for the Quiet One

We’ve all been warned at some time or another to “Beware the quiet ones.” Based on our analysis, the resident “quiet one” is Lotto Texas. Although its prizes don’t achieve the monstrous sizes we’ve seen in Mega Millions and Powerball, it presents itself in a respectable manner. After all, claiming a $12.5 million prize is nothing to be down about.

January 12, 2019 was the night that, in an uncharacteristic moment, it was unrestrained. In fact, Lotto Texas ruled the night! There was more—far more—to Saturday night than someone winning. Describing it here in the introduction would be a grave injustice!

Keeping up with this flip-flopped scenario, Powerball was the one keeping to itself. Its prize rose to $112 million with little fanfare.
