Springing into March

Maybe it’s a good thing that February is the shortest month of the year. It means that the wait for the seasons to change doesn’t seem as long, or at least that’s the hope! Mega Millions said “Farewell” to February with an interesting play February 27th. On the surface, it may not have been much. But, we here at Lottery Binge know better than to take things at face value.

General Lottery Analysis

With winning numbers 10, 17, 21, 38, 43, and MB 23, the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern made its 146th appearance, its first since February 16th, 2018.

There’s a bit more to this Combination. For one, it made its debut in the January 26th, 2018 drawing. No big deal, right? Well, if you glance up at the previous section, January 26th was when we last saw the 1 2 1 1 0 1 Specific Order. The winning numbers were close, too. Don’t believe us? Check out that link again.

Will March start off with something wild, or will it be calm?

Bouncing Through a Time Warp

Saturdays wield the power of nostalgia. Be it Saturday morning cartoons, hanging out at the mall, or just sleeping in, there’s something about that day that makes the urge to reminisce hard to suppress. As is the nature of Lottery Binge, we cover past lotteries—the past can be from just a few days ago to a time when Blockbuster Video was where you rented movies and video games. February 24th was a night when the past truly took over.

Lotto Texas

General Lottery Analysis

The first Combination is a special one. See, it made its debut on July 19th, 2000. That was the very first Lotto Texas drawing to use numbers 1 through 54!

The second Combination made its debut in the November 30th, 2002 drawing.

Powerball

General Lottery Analysis

Powerball stumbled across some leftover Valentine’s Day candy. The {2-2-1-1} Pattern made its 73rd appearance with winning numbers 24, 25, 38, 62, 63, and PB 6.

Powerball’s journey didn’t go as far back, but it was a trip back in time nonetheless.

Three-Number Combination(s)

There weren’t any repeating Three-Number Combinations this time.

Lotto Texas and Powerball will have the honor of bidding February adieu. Will either the Australia Play or the {2-2-1-1} Pattern make an encore? Will there be another trip back to the “distant” past?

The 2nd Back for Seconds

Mega Millions has a history with the Olympics. It was during the Rio Olympics in 2016 that we saw a Pattern make six consecutive appearances. As the Winter Olympics begin to wrap up, Mega Millions wanted to reminisce. In fact, February 23rd’s drawing saw shades of an earlier time.

General Lottery Analysis

The {3-1-1-1} Pattern made its 66th appearance, with winning numbers 7, 11, 13, 19, 58, and MB 9.

More specifically, this Combination made its debut in the February 2nd, 2016 drawing.

Will Mega Millions end the month with a {3-1-1-1} encore, or will another Pattern appear?

A Pattern’s Icy Grip

In the nearly two years Lottery Binge has been online, one of our favorite things to cover is the Pattern streak. These occur when a Pattern has played at least three consecutive times. Three or four consecutive appearances seems to be the norm, but there have been cases of five or even six appearances.

Although the biggest ones we’ve covered occurred during the summers of 2016 and 2017, February 21st reminded us that these streaks can happen at any time.

Lotto Texas

Will Powerball and Lotto Texas keep up the momentum Saturday, or will things start to mellow out?

Serve It Up Rare

Nothing else this month has come close to topping the madness of February 9th. At least, until the February 20th drawing. Instead of going for a heavy hitter like a {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern encore, or even another similar spread, Mega Millions chose a different path. It’s not a commonly taken path, but it can yield great results.

General Lottery Analysis

With winning numbers 17, 19, 23, 24, 43, and MB 14, the rarely-seen {4-1-1} Pattern made its eighth appearance.

When looking at all 334 drawings, the 0 4 0 1 0 1 Specific Order has played roughly 0.3% of the time.

Three Number Combination(s)

A rare Pattern was enough, it seems. There were no repeating Three-Number Combinations.

Will Friday see a {4-1-1} repeat, or will another, more common Pattern take the spotlight?

Under a Pattern Spell

A spell had been cast upon the lotteries Saturday night. Lotto Texas found itself in the grip of a Pattern streak. Powerball was under the control of the ultimate playback. And that wasn’t all that occurred on February 17th.

The Comeback Combination

Compared to what we saw last week, February 16th was a calm night. The Pattern we saw was the one most often seen in Mega Millions. For the nearly two years Lottery Binge has been online, this Pattern is notorious for its Pattern streaks. And now, it can add a very special repeating Three-Number Combination.

General Lottery Analysis

Not a bad way to get over the weekly hump

Will Saturday night be big, or will there be a slump?

The Mardi Gras Cooldown

The February 13th Mega Millions drawing was much less rowdy than what we saw this past Friday. There was no similar spread, nor a repeating Four-Number Combination. Just as well on the latter, as those Combinations are more the domain of Lotto Texas. Tuesday night wasn’t completely quiet. One of the biggest events of the evening was a Pattern encore.

Going In for the Encore

One thing about the weekend is that Friday night is just the practice round, right? Friday nights are party nights, sure, but not like Saturday nights. After all, that’s the true heart of the weekend, isn’t it?

Well, it turned out not to be the case this time in Lottery World.

February 9th and 10th were far different beasts. For those of you who follow Mega Millions, you were certainly in for a treat this past Friday. As for Lotto Texas and Powerball? Saturday night was much quieter. The big events of the evening were a Pattern encore and a repeating Combination.
