Playback & Encore

After a Four-Number Combination appeared in Powerball this past weekend, anything right after would pale in comparison, right? Even though the night of October 11th wasn’t as explosive, there were still some big plays. The {3-2-1} Pattern streak was shattered in Lotto Texas. Meanwhile, Powerball saw a Pattern encore. And then some.

The {4-1-1} Pattern pushed the {3-2-1} Pattern aside with winning numbers 3, 4, 6, 11, 19, and 38.

Four-Number Combination(s)

There were no repeating Four-Number Combinations here. What of Powerball?

Right off the heels of Saturday night, the {3-1-1-1} Pattern made an encore appearance. This time around, the winning numbers were 1, 3, 13, 19, 69, and PB 23.

This Pattern has now played 41 times, and has appeared in 19.4% of the 211 Powerball drawings.

With ten appearances, the [3-1-1-1] General Order has played in 24.4% of the 41 drawings where the {3-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared. This General Order has also played in 4.74% of all 211 drawings. When we last saw the [3-1-1-1] General Order, it was during the dog days of summer. More specifically, during the August 12th, 2017 drawing.

Powerball stole the night with big plays. One such play was the debut of the 3 1 0 0 1 1 Specific Order! This has now played in 10% of the ten drawings where the [3-1-1-1] General Order has appeared. Additionally, this Specific Order has played in 2.44% of the 41 drawings where the {3-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 0.47% of all 211 drawings.

Four-Number Combination(s)

No, there weren’t any repeating Four-Number Combinations! But, there was some repeating Combination action.

Three-Number Combination(s)

Here is where the repeating Combination action took place. There was only one repeating Three-Number Combination: 1, 3, 13.

So much fun being at the top. Source: lotterytrend-powerball.com.

This Combination made its debut earlier in the year. January 11th, 2017 to be precise.

Will either the {4-1-1} or {3-1-1-1} Patterns make another appearance Saturday night?

No Room for {3-1-1-1}

All streaks must come to an end. The {3-1-1-1} Pattern did not appear for the fourth time in a row. Right after an unprecedented three-peat, it was unceremoniously dethroned in the October 10th drawing. A more, ahem, common Pattern did the deed.

General Lottery Analysis

With 122 drawings, the {2-2-1-1} Pattern is the second-most commonly seen Pattern in Mega Millions.  Tuesday’s winning numbers were 7, 16, 24, 61, 62, and MB 2.

This Pattern has now played in 29.4% of the 415 Mega Millions drawings, and previously played September 26, 2017.

Making its 36th appearance, the [1-2-2-1] General Order has now played in 29.5% of the 112 drawings where the {2-2-1-1} Pattern has appeared. This General Order has also played in 8.67% of all 415 drawings. We last saw the [1-2-2-1] General Order in the August 15, 2017 drawing.

Now with seven appearances, the 1 2 0 0 2 1 Specific Order has played in 19.4% of the 36 drawings where the [1-2-2-1] General Order has appeared. This Specific Order has also played in 5.74% of the 122 drawings where the {2-2-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 1.69% of all 415 drawings. Before Tuesday night, the 1 2 0 0 2 1 Specific Order accompanied the [1-2-2-1] General Order in the earlier-mentioned August 15th drawing.

Three-Number Combination(s)

The lone repeating Three-Number Combination of the evening was 7, 16, MB 2.

A Playback and a Storm of (Repeating) Combinations

True to the spirit of Saturday nights, October 7, 2017 was in the throes of parties. Number parties, that is. Lotto Texas saw a three-peat and Powerball? Powerball saw a repeating Four-Number Combination for the first time in seven weeks.

Lotto Texas

General Lottery Analysis

Right off the heels of Tuesday’s drawing, the {3-2-1} Pattern ruled the night. Saturday night’s winning numbers were 2, 12, 28, 31, 32, and 42, bringing the total number of appearances to 775.

{3-2-1} reigns supreme. Source: lotterytrend.com.

This Pattern has played in 52.1% of the 1488 drawings.

The 2 3 1 Specific Order has appeared in 128 drawings, and has played in 16.5% of the 775 drawings where the {3-2-1} Pattern has appeared. This Specific Order has also played in 8.60% of all 1488 drawings. Lately, it appears that this Specific Order is joined at the hip with the {3-2-1} Pattern, as it too was caught in the throes of a three-peat.

Contrary to popular expectations, there were no repeating Four-Number Combinations here. As we hinted at earlier, that happened in Powerball.

General Lottery Analysis

For those of you who’ve been following Lottery Binge, you know the rule. First the general analysis, and then the Combinations. Ahem.

The {3-1-1-1} Pattern made its 40th appearance, with winning numbers 10, 49, 61, 63, 65, and PB 7.

This Pattern has played in roughly 19% of the 210 Powerball drawings, and was last seen about a couple of weeks ago. More specifically, in the September 23, 2017 drawing.

Now with 18 appearances, the [1-1-3-1] General Order has played in 45% of the 40 drawings where the {3-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared. And, this General Order has played in 8.57% of all 210 drawings. This General Order is not an encore appearance. To see when this General Order previously played, we need to go back to July 15, 2017.

Making its fourth appearance, the 1 0 0 1 3 1 Specific Order has played in 22.2% of the 18 drawings where the [1-1-3-1] General Order has appeared. This Specific Order has also played in 10% of the 40 drawings where the {3-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 1.90% of all 210 drawings. And, like the [1-1-3-1] Specific Order, we need to go back to an earlier date to see when the 1 0 0 1 3 1 Specific Order previously played. In this case, we last saw the Specific Order in the June 21, 2017 drawing.

Four-Number Combination(s)

So, for the first time in seven weeks, a repeating Four-Number Combination showed its face in Powerball:

Remember, repeating Four-Number Combinations are not common with Powerball! You know where it is common though? Lotto Texas.

Three-Number Combination(s)

Of course, we can’t talk about a repeating Four-Number Combination without the Three-Number Combinations that were “birthed” from it, can we?

As is the nature of this type of occurrence, these four Combinations also made their debut in the November 16th, 2016 drawing.

Will either the {3-2-1} Pattern or {3-1-1-1} Pattern make an encore in Wednesday’s drawing? Will Powerball throw another zinger and play another repeating Four-Number Combination?

Oh Snap! {3-1-1-1} Did it Again!

The {3-1-1-1} Pattern is normally a quiet, unassuming Pattern. It doesn’t go around establishing streaks like {2-1-1-1-1}. Apparently, the urge to create a Pattern streak was overwhelming, because the {3-1-1-1} Pattern made its third consecutive appearance in the October 6, 2017 drawing. This Pattern packed a punch. See, the three-peat wasn’t the only big thing of the evening.

General Lottery Analysis

The {3-1-1-1} Pattern made its 70th appearance with winning numbers 21, 33, 36, 45, 56, and MB 12.

A three-peat? Whodathunkit? Source: lotterytrend-megamillions.com.

This Pattern has played in 16.9% of the 414 Mega Millions drawings.

With 21 appearances, the [1-3-1-1] General Order has now played in 30% of the 70 drawings where the {3-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared. This General Order has also played in 5.07% of all 414 drawings. We can safely say that the [1-3-1-1] General Order’s appearance was an encore. It played alongside the {3-1-1-1} Pattern in this past Tuesday’s drawing.

Now with eight appearances, the 0 1 3 1 0 1 Specific Order has played in 38.1% of the 21 drawings where the [1-3-1-1] General order has appeared. This Specific Order has also played in 11.4% of the 70 drawings where the {3-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 1.93% of all 414 drawings. Unlike the [1-3-1-1] General Order, this Specific Order did not make an encore. The last time we saw the 0 1 3 1 0 1 Specific Order was in the May 12, 2017 drawing.

Similar Spread

The Mega Millions analyst informed me that there was a similar spread. The spread of the evening was 12:03:09:11. If we look at the April 17th, 2015 drawing, the winning numbers were 15, 18, 29, 41, 50, and MB 5, and the spread was 03:11:12:09. As is the case with similar spreads, the spreads may be the same, but the numbers played and the orders in which the spreads occur are different. This information will be passed on to our webmaster, and the Mega Millions site will be updated accordingly.

Three-Number Combination(s)

To add onto the momentum, there were two repeating Three-Number Combinations:

  • 33, 36, 45 (Debuted May 3, 2016)
  • 21, 56, MB 12 (Debuted October 17, 2014)

Are Pattern streaks the new face of the {3-1-1-1} Pattern, or will it disappear in Tuesday’s drawing?

On Opposite Sides

Lotto Texas and Powerball stood on opposite sides of the world. October 4th saw the {3-2-1} Pattern for both lotteries. Yet, it couldn’t be more different. For Lotto Texas, this is the King of Patterns. In Powerball, it’s just a quiet bystander. However, that doesn’t mean the quiet ones are always quiet. Something else was brewing in Powerball.

Lotto Texas

Lotto Texas loved the {3-2-1} Pattern so much that it played again. This time around, the winning numbers were 13, 17, 20, 29, 30, and 44.

This Pattern has played in 52.1% of the 1487 Lotto Texas drawings.

Meanwhile, the 2 3 1 Specific Order made its 127th appearance. It has now played in 16.4% of the 774 drawings where the {3-2-1} Pattern has appeared. This Specific Order has also played in 8.54% of all 1487 drawings. The 2 3 1 Specific Order was seen alongside the {3-2-1} Pattern in this past Saturday’s drawing.

There were no repeating Four-Number Combinations.

Powerball

Powerball’s {3-2-1} Pattern made its eleventh appearance. Wednesday’s winning numbers were 22, 23, 62, 63, 66, and PB 24.

This Pattern has played in 5.26% of the 209 Powerball drawings, and previously played on September 27, 2017, exactly one week prior.

With nine appearances, the [2-3-1] General Order has played in 81.8% of the 11 drawings where the {3-2-1} Pattern has appeared. This General Order has also played in 4.31% of all 209 Powerball drawings, and played alongside the {3-2-1} Pattern on September 27th.

Now with its second-ever appearance, the 0 2 0 0 3 1 Specific Order has played in 22.2% of the 9 drawings where the [2-3-1] General Order has appeared. This Specific Order has also played in 18.2% of the 11 drawings where the {3-2-1} Pattern has appeared. Finally, when taking all 209 drawings into account, this Specific Order has played 0.96% of the time. The 0 2 0 0 3 1 Specific Order made its debut earlier this year. More specifically, in the January 25, 2017 drawing.

This {3-2-1} Pattern produced two repeating Three-Number Combinations:

Will these Patterns be seen again Saturday night, or will other Patterns have their turn?

Another Helping of {3-1-1-1}

Right off the heels of Friday night’s drawing, Mega Millions started October with a {3-1-1-1} encore. The October 3, 2017 drawing also featured a Specific Order that hadn’t been seen in almost two years. Although we didn’t have a repeating Combination bonanza, there was a repeating Three-Number Combination or two.

With winning numbers 12, 18, 19, 25, 67, and MB 7, the {3-1-1-1} Pattern made its 69th appearance.

Given that there have now been 413 drawings, this Pattern has now played in 16.7% of the 413 Mega Millions drawings.

The [1-3-1-1] General Order made its 20th appearance, and has now played in roughly 29% of the 69 drawings where the {3-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared. This General Order has also played in 4.84% of all 413 drawings. We last saw the [1-3-1-1] General Order in the August 18, 2017 drawing.

Now with three appearances, the 1 3 0 0 1 1 Specific Order has played in 15% of the 20 drawings where the [1-3-1-1] General Order has appeared. This Specific Order has also played in 4.35% of the 69 drawings where the {3-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 0.73% of all 413 drawings. Now, the 1 3 0 0 1 1 Specific Order is a special one indeed. It previously played in the December 18, 2015 drawing. Talk about an early Christmas gift!

As for the repeating Three-Number Combinations of the evening, they were as follows:

  • 12, 25, MB 7 (Debuted January 13, 2015)

Will the {3-1-1-1} Pattern go for the three-peat in Friday night’s drawing?

End the Month with a Common Pattern (or Two)

September has come and gone. With seventy-five percent of the year gone, the holiday season is right around the corner, and it’s never too early to get a head start on the Christmas shopping list, right? On the lottery side of things, September 30th wasn’t a blowout for either Lotto Texas or Powerball. However, the night was far from “boring”.

With winning numbers 1, 8, 19, 29, 36, and 45, the {3-2-1} Pattern has now played 773 times.
