Two Patterns: Three Times

July has come and gone for Lotto Texas and Powerball, and things ended with them joined at the hip. In the last two drawings, both have had their most commonly seen Patterns make appearances together. The July 29th drawing marked the third time in a row that this has occurred. Not only that, these Patterns can’t go without having some sort of Combination action taking place. “Two” has become the favorite number for repeating Four-Number Combinations that show up in Lotto Texas. Powerball decided that one repeating Three-Number Combination was enough.

Lotto Texas

Saturday’s winning numbers were 15, 20, 22, 24, 37, and 38, bringing the number of appearances of the {3-2-1} Pattern to 763.

Will the {3-2-1} and the {2-1-1-1-1} Patterns make another joint appearance to kick off August?

The New Streak in Town?

July was the month of the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern in Mega Millions. This Pattern reigned supreme, having two instances where it appeared at least four times in a row. To commemorate the end of the month, for Mega Millions at least, one Pattern decided to shake things up Friday night. Instead of serving as a “stop gap” for the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern’s streaks, it may be gearing up to start a streak of its own.

Right off the heels of Tuesday night, the {2-2-1-1} Pattern made another appearance in the July 28, 2017 drawing. With winning numbers 4, 6, 31, 49, 52, and MB 11, this Pattern made its 116th appearance.

It’s not often that the debut dates for repeating Three-Number Combinations are separated by exactly one week!

Will the {2-2-1-1} Pattern start August with a third consecutive appearance?

Saturday Night Comebacks

The “dog days of summer” are upon us in Lottery Trend country. The amount of sunlight during the day may be steadily shrinking, but daytime’s a scorcher. We can add the night of July 26th to the scorcher list. Both Lotto Texas and Powerball saw their most commonly played Patterns. Furthermore, these were last seen this past Saturday night! Of course, it wouldn’t be a sizzling hot night without repeating Four-Number Combinations in Lotto Texas, and a repeating Three-Number Combination in Powerball.

Will either the {3-2-1} or the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern go for a three-peat this Saturday?

A Change of Pace

Time flies! It’s hard to believe, but July is almost over. With beach balls soon to be exchanged with backpacks, Mega Millions decided to switch things up again in the July 25, 2017 drawing. After four consecutive appearances of the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern, one wouldn’t be at fault for thinking the Pattern would show up again. After all, Lottery Binge has covered at least one scenario where this Pattern has played five times in a row. Alas, that was not to be. Another Pattern appeared, and there was also a repeating Three-Number Combination.

The winning numbers on Tuesday night were 2, 5, 26, 58, 60, and MB 6, bringing the number of appearances of the {2-2-1-1} Pattern to 115.

Will the {2-2-1-1} Pattern make an encore appearance in Friday night’s drawing?

It’s a Common Thing

Unlike what took place on Wednesday night, there were no rarely-seen Patterns July 22nd. In fact, both Lotto Texas and Powerball saw their most commonly seen Patterns make an appearance. There were also two repeating Four-Number Combinations in Lotto Texas, one of them having played twice before! Powerball saw a repeating Three-Number Combination as well.

Lotto Texas

The {3-2-1} Pattern made its 761st appearance. Saturday night. The winning numbers were 17, 22, 24, 41, 44, and 49.

Repeating Four-Number Combinations got a lot of love. The repeating Four-Number Combinations were:

  • 17, 24, 41, 44 (Debuted February 14th, 2001)
  • 17, 22, 24, 41 (Debuted August 5th, 2009 and last seen 10/31/2009. Spooky!)

Sixteen years is a lengthy amount of time to pass for a Four-Number Combination to play again. It’s also not common to see a Four-Number Combination repeat just a few months after making its debut!

Powerball

With winning numbers 5, 32, 44, 53, 60, and PB 9, the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has now played in 68 drawings.

With July about to wrap up, what will we see in the week ahead? Will either the {3-2-1} or the {2-1-1-1-1}  or both Patterns make an encore?

The Four Lives of {2-1-1-1-1}

The {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern is a special one indeed. It’s the most commonly seen Pattern in Mega Millions, and it has a penchant for showing up in sets of consecutive appearances. Last summer, this Pattern made a record-breaking six consecutive appearances. Earlier this summer, it looked as if the Pattern was going to tie the record, but there were other plans. Of course, never count anything out! Shortly after this “hiccup”, the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern got back up and the July 11th drawing established a new streak. Friday night saw this Pattern’s fourth consecutive appearance.

The winning numbers in the July 21st drawing were 18, 31, 36, 50, 74, and MB 10, bringing the number of appearances of the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern to 165.

Now with eight appearances, the 0 1 2 1 1 1 Specific Order has played in about 17% of the 47 drawings where the [1-2-1-1-1] General Order has appeared, and 4.85% of the 165 drawings where the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared. This Specific Order has also played in 2.04% of all 392 drawings. Prior to Friday night, this Specific Order was last seen in the April 7th, 2017 drawing.

This Combination made its debut in the July 11th drawing. To think that Friday night’s drawing was a reunion, of sorts.

Will the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern get a second chance next week to tie the record?

Two Scoops of Rare Treats

If you like rare Patterns, then you were in for a treat Wednesday night! Both Lotto Texas and Powerball saw some of their least-commonly seen Patterns in the July 19, 2017 drawing. In addition to these rare Patterns playing, both lotteries saw Specific Orders that hadn’t played in two years, or thereabouts.

Lotto Texas felt the {5-1} Pattern was enough, for there were no repeating Four-Number Combinations.

Powerball

The {3-2-1} made its eighth appearance, with winning numbers 50, 51, 59, 61, 63, and PB 4.

Looking ahead to Saturday, will any of these rare Patterns make an encore appearance?

Playing it Cool

Well, don’t that beat all? Earlier this summer, the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern made five consecutive appearances, and came close to tying the record that was achieved last summer. It looks like the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern is trying to establish a streak again, because it made its third consecutive appearance in the July 18th drawing.

This Mega Millions post will be another short one, as there were no repeating Three-Number Combinations.

The winning numbers on Tuesday night were 8, 12, 23, 51, 73, and MB 6, bringing the number of appearances of the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern up to 164.

When looking at all 391 Mega Millions drawings, the statistic becomes 2.81%. This Specific Order was last seen in the June 6th, 2017 drawing.

Will the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern go for a fourth consecutive appearance?

Another Cool Saturday Night

Halfway through the month of July and we saw another cool down Saturday night. The biggest plays July 15, 2017 were an Australia Play in Lotto Texas and a new Specific Order in Powerball. There were no repeating Four-Number or Three-Number Combinations to speak of in Lotto Texas or Powerball, respectively.

Will next week see more Australia Plays? Will Pattern streaks be established?

Short and Sweet Encore

The {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern was feeling bold Friday night. In our last Mega Millions post, we had asked if this Pattern would make an encore, and sure enough, it did. There was a bit of a change-up, though. Unlike what happened in the July 11th drawing, there were no repeating Three-Number Combinations.

July 14th’s winning numbers were 11, 12, 24, 32, 73, and MB 1.

Our Mega Millions coverage concludes with the 2 1 1 0 1 1 Specific Order. This Specific Order has also played in 2.05% of all 390 drawings, and was last seen in the November 20th, 2015 drawing.

Will the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern go for a three-peat in Tuesday’s drawing, or does Mega Millions have another surprise up its sleeve?
