Doubling Up

Time sure flies by! It’s hard to believe, but we’re almost halfway done with 2017. June 28th was the last night of the month for both Lotto Texas and Powerball. How did they wrap it up? Well, Lotto Texas saw the Pattern and the Specific Order make an encore appearance. On the Powerball side of things, the Pattern and General Order previously played together earlier in the month, and there was a repeating Three-Number Combination.

Lotto Texas

With 758 appearances, the {3-2-1} is still tops among Lotto Texas Patterns. Wednesday’s winning numbers were 17, 24, 27, 41, 45, and 48.

Unlike the last two times the {3-2-1} Pattern has appeared, there were no repeating Four-Number Combinations.

Powerball

The {2-2-1-1} Pattern made its 55th appearance, with winning numbers 29, 37, 46, 53, 68, and PB 8.

Triple Threats

June’s getting ready to wrap up, and it looks like Mega Millions is ready to go out with a bang! The June 27, 2017 drawing brought forth a {2-1-1-1-1} three-peat, and, there were three Three-Number Combinations. Try saying “Three Three-Number Combinations” three times fast.

The 159th appearance of the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern was thanks to numbers 4, 21, 45, 52, 57, and MB 14.

The {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has a way of establishing streaks. One of those streaks was the “six-peat” seen last year during the Rio Olympics. Will Mega Millions end the month with a fourth appearance of the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern?

Pattern Volleyball Session

Alongside the barbecues and the pool parties, another one of summer’s beloved pastimes is beach volleyball. Lotto Texas and Powerball tried their hands at it in the June 24, 2017 drawing, and the results could be summed up as “Last Saturday with a touch of May.” Both lotteries saw their most commonly played Patterns, unlike what happened on Wednesday night. Like the Saturday before, this iteration of Lotto Texas’s most commonly played Pattern produced two repeating Four-Number Combinations. In contrast, the most recent iteration of Powerball’s Pattern didn’t produce repeating Three-Number Combinations.

Lotto Texas

For the 757th time, the {3-2-1} Pattern made an appearance. Saturday night’s winning numbers were 1, 24, 27, 41, 49, and 53.

Combination Summer Jam

June 21st was the official start of summer, and what better way to start the season than with not-so-commonly played Patterns? How about more repeating Four-Number and Three-Number Combinations? Just as it was on Saturday, Wednesday night had two repeating Four-Number Combinations in Lotto Texas, and one repeating Three-Number Combination in Powerball.

Will there be more repeating Four-Number and Three-Number Combinations on Saturday?

From a Downpour to a Sprinkle

In the last Mega Millions post, we covered the ever-so-rare repeating Four-Number Combination—and the four repeating Three-Number Combinations nestled within. A storm was brewing in the June 20th drawing, and while not as intense as Friday night, there was still plenty of action. The most commonly seen Pattern made an appearance, and this time around, there were two repeating Three-Number Combinations.

The {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern made its 157th appearance with winning numbers 2, 15, 41, 49, 63, and MB 3.

Will Friday night’s drawing see a Pattern encore? Will there be more repeating Three-Number Combinations?

Common Things

“Common” was the surface theme of the evening for June 17th. Both Lotto Texas and Powerball saw their most commonly played Patterns. Powerball’s Pattern play was also an encore this time around. Of course, there’s more to the story. Lotto Texas had two repeating Four-Number Combinations, and Powerball had one repeating Three-Number Combination.

Lotto Texas

Now with 756 appearances, the {3-2-1} Pattern showed no signs of being upstaged by another Pattern. The winning numbers Saturday night were 3, 4, 6, 23, 34, and 54.

Once again, the range of Four-Number Combination dates ranged from the era of smartphones all the way back to the era of Blockbuster and Napster.

Powerball

Right off the heels of this past Wednesday’s drawing, the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern made another appearance. This time around, the winning numbers were 10, 13, 32, 53, 62, and PB 21, bringing the total number of appearances to 65.

The [2-1-1-1-1] General Order made its fourteenth appearance, and has now played in 21.5% of the 65 drawings where the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared. This General Order has also played in 7.87% of all 178 drawings. Unlike the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern, the [2-1-1-1-1] General Order did not make an encore. In fact, this General Order was last seen in the June 3rd drawing exactly two weeks prior.

Making its third appearance, the 2 0 1 1 1 1 Specific Order has played in 21.4% of the 14 drawings where the [2-1-1-1-1] General Order has appeared, and in 4.62% of the 65 drawings where the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared. The next Lotto Texas and Powerball drawings will take place on the summer solstice (or winter solstice for any readers in the Southern Hemisphere). How will Lotto Texas and Powerball mark the occasion? Will a Pattern streak be established with the most commonly seen Patterns, or will things mellow out?

Getting the 4-1-1 and Then Some

After a quiet Tuesday night, Mega Millions kicked it up a thousand notches in the June 16th drawing. Friday night saw the appearance of one of the least commonly seen Patterns. While that’s a big deal in and of itself here at Lottery Binge, that wasn’t the biggest draw of the evening. There was more to this Pattern than appearing after a lengthy period of absence. What made this Pattern interesting was that this time around, a repeating Four-Number Combination made an appearance. Such a thing is a rarity in Mega Millions.

The {4-1-1} Pattern made its thirteenth appearance with winning numbers 18, 22, 26, 30, 44, and MB 9.

Source: lotterytrend-megamillions.com.

This Pattern has now played in 3.40% of the 382 Mega Millions drawing and was last seen in the October 11, 2016 drawing.

Making its seventh appearance, the [4-1-1] General Order has now played in 53.8% of the 13 drawings where the {4-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 1.83% of all 382 drawings. Like the {4-1-1} Pattern, this General Order was also last seen in the October 11th drawing.

Now with two appearances, the 0 4 1 0 0 1 Specific Order has played in 28.6% of the seven drawings where the [4-1-1] General Order has appeared. This Specific Order has also played in 15.4% of the 13 drawings where the {4-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 0.52% of all 382 drawings. The 0 4 1 0 0 1 Specific Order made its debut in the September 19, 2014 drawing. Will it be another two years and nine months before this Specific Order is seen again?

Now it’s time to discuss the biggest event of the evening: the ever-so rare repeating Four-Number Combination. The Combination of the evening was 18, 26, 30, and 44, and it made its debut in the March 15, 2016 drawing.

Of course, there’s always more beneath the surface when it comes to these lottery things. Nestled inside a repeating Four-Number Combination are four repeating Three-Number Combinations. Here’s Part II of the big event:

A volley of repeating Four-Number Combinations. Source: lotterytrend-megamillions.com.

Save for Combination 30, 44, and MB 9, all the Combinations in the list above made their debut in the March 15, 2016 drawing.

Will there be more shock and awe in Tuesday’s Mega Millions drawing?

The Flag Day Smash

There is a US holiday in June, a little holiday called Flag Day. See, it falls on June 14th every year, and it commemorates the adoption of the US flag on June 14, 1777. It wasn’t until the mid-twentieth century that Flag Day became a holiday. As much as USians love (US) football field-sized flags, explosions, chanting “USA! USA! USA!”, and explosions, Flag Day is a low-key affair there. Keeping with the Flag Day tradition, the Lotto Texas and Powerball drawings were low-key affairs the night of June 14, 2017. The {3-2-1} Pattern four-peat in Lotto Texas was smashed, not to mention that there were no repeating Four-Number Combinations. Powerball’s {2-2-1-1} Pattern didn’t get a chance to go for an encore, and there were no repeating Three-Number Combinations there, either. Yet, as low-key as the night was, there was an interesting development in Lotto Texas.

Lotto Texas

Wednesday night’s winning numbers were 11, 20, 37, 39, 44, and 49, bringing the number of appearances of the {4-1-1} Pattern to 159.

This Pattern has now played in 10.9% of the 1455 Lotto Texas drawings, and was last seen in the May 6, 2017 drawing.

The 1 1 4 Specific Order has now made 54 appearances, and has played in approximately 34% of the 159 drawings where the {4-1-1} Pattern has appeared. This Specific Order has also played in 3.71% of all 1455 drawings. In an interesting turn of events, the 1 1 4 Specific Order was also last seen in the May 6th drawing.

Powerball

The {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern remained the most commonly seen Powerball Pattern. The winning numbers this time around were 5, 22, 43, 57, 63, and PB 24.

Source: lotterytrend-powerball.com

This Pattern has now appeared 64 times, and has played in 36.2% of the 177 Powerball drawings. The {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern previously played in the June 3, 2017 drawing.

Making its 20th appearance, the [1-1-1-2-1] General Order has played in 31.25% of the 64 drawings where the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 11.3% of all 177 drawings. Prior to Wednesday night, this General Order was last seen in the March 1, 2017 drawing.

Now with four appearances, the 1 1 0 1 2 1 Specific Order has played in 20% of the 20 drawings where the [1-1-1-2-1] General Order has appeared. This Specific Order has also played in 6.25% of the 64 drawings where the {2-1-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 2.26% of all 177 drawings. The 1 1 0 1 2 1 Specific Order was last seen in the May 14, 2016 drawing.

The summer solstice is nearly here. Will Lotto Texas and Powerball turn up the heat Saturday night, or will a new, low-key “streak” be established?

Holy {3-1-1-1}!

The night of June 13th was a change of pace. As the title points out, there was no {2-2-1-1} Pattern encore. Instead, an uncommonly-seen Pattern got its time to shine, and there were two repeating Three-Number Combinations.

The 62nd appearance of the {3-1-1-1} Pattern was made possible by winning numbers 27, 51, 62, 68, 75, and MB 8.

This Pattern has now played in 16.3% of the 381 Mega Millions drawing, and was last seen in the May 26th, 2017 drawing.

Making its 23rd appearance, the [1-1-3-1] General Order has played in 37.1% of the 62 drawings where the {3-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 6.04% of all 381 drawings. Prior to Tuesday night, this General Order played in the January 17th, 2017 drawing.

Now with two appearances, the 0 1 0 1 3 1 Specific Order has played in approximately 8.70% of the 23 drawings where the [1-1-3-1] General Order has appeared. This Specific Order has also played in 3.23% of the 62 drawings where the {3-1-1-1} Pattern has appeared, and in 0.52% of all 381 drawings. The 0 1 0 1 3 1 Specific Order made its debut in the October 6th, 2015 drawing. This was over eighteen months ago.
